Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing a cybernetic approach in learning management in developing students’ creativity and responsibility for learning at SMKN 1 Sawoo. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, the study explores the experiences and meanings constructed by teachers, students, and school administrators regarding the application of the cybernetic approach in the learning process. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, with participants selected purposively. The data were analyzed cyclically using an interactive analysis model. The findings show that the implementation of a cybernetic approach in learning management contributes to a more planned, controlled, and sustainable learning process, accompanied by more intensive teacher–student interaction. This approach positively influences students’ creativity, as reflected in their ability to generate ideas, think innovatively, and produce varied learning outcomes. In addition, students’ responsibility for learning improves, as indicated by increased discipline, independence, and commitment to completing learning tasks. These results suggest that the cybernetic approach has the potential to support more adaptive and meaningful learning management in vocational education contexts.

Abstract

This research explores how combining Problem-Based Learning (PBL) with Google Sites can enhance the critical thinking of fifth-grade IPAS students. Addressing the limitations of teacher-centered instruction, the study used a qualitative classroom action research approach. After two cycles of implementation, students showed a 55.56% increase in their ability to analyze data and draw conclusions. The integration of Google Sites not only supported the PBL framework but also significantly increased student participation. Ultimately, this approach proved successful in developing essential analytical skills at the elementary level

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) in Indonesia have long been recognized as indigenous educational institutions that play a strategic role in shaping individuals with strong moral and religious character. This study aims to analyze the mechanism of moral character formation among pesantren students through the integration of Information Processing Theory, the Cognitive-Behavior perspective, and Qur’anic values. The research employs a qualitative library research approach focusing on conceptual analysis and theoretical synthesis rather than field-based numerical data. Data sources consist of primary references such as the Qur’an and authoritative works in cognitive and educational psychology, supported by secondary sources including accredited journals and classical as well as contemporary Qur’anic commentaries. Data were collected through systematic documentation and analyzed using descriptive content analysis following the interactive model of Matthew B. Miles and A. Michael Huberman. The findings reveal that moral formation in pesantren is not an instant or mystical process, but a structured cognitive-spiritual mechanism involving attention, encoding, storage, and retrieval of moral information reinforced by repetition, modeling, and reflective practices. The Cognitive-Behavior framework underscores the significant role of the kyai as a living model shaping students’ belief systems and behavioral schemas, while Qur’anic concepts such as tadabbur, tazkiyatun nafs, and muraqabah function as metacognitive and spiritual control mechanisms. Theoretically, this study contributes by proposing an integrative conceptual model that bridges modern cognitive psychology and Islamic educational thought, demonstrating that moral character formation can be systematically explained through information-processing architecture enriched by cognitive-behavioral constructs and grounded in Qur’anic epistemology. This model extends the application of Information Processing Theory beyond academic learning into the domain of moral education, recontextualizes Cognitive-Behavior principles within a faith-based institutional setting, and offers a multidisciplinary framework for understanding character education as a structured cognitive-spiritual process. The study concludes that pesantren education represents an integrated cognitive-spiritual ecosystem that systematically cultivates sustainable moral character.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education has transformed the ways in which students learn Arabic, particularly in the context of fostering learner autonomy. This study aims to explore the role of AI as a facilitator of learning autonomy, identify emerging challenges, and examine pedagogical implications for higher education. The methodology employed is an integrative review, synthesizing recent literature on AI, self-regulated learning, and Arabic language acquisition. Findings indicate that AI can enhance learner autonomy through support for multimodal learning experiences, material personalization, and real-time feedback that promotes student reflection and self-regulation. On the other hand, AI also presents risks such as pseudo-autonomy, epistemological errors, and ethical and academic challenges, which necessitate critical digital literacy and pedagogical oversight. Effective AI integration requires instructors to act as facilitators, ethical guides, and quality controllers of learning processes. This paper concludes that AI holds significant potential to strengthen authentic and responsible learner autonomy, provided it is employed within a reflective, critical, and ethical pedagogical framework. These findings offer important implications for the design of technology-based Arabic language instruction and the development of strategies to reinforce learner autonomy among digital-native students
