Abstract

This study explores the implementation of SIPRAJA, an e-government platform, in a rural Indonesian village. Using a qualitative approach and T.B. Smith's framework, we analyzed the interaction between policymakers, target groups, implementing organizations, and environmental factors influencing its adoption. Findings reveal positive community reception, highlighting SIPRAJA's potential to streamline public services. However, limited outreach and technical challenges raise concerns about inclusivity and sustainability. This research suggests targeted awareness campaigns and infrastructure improvements are crucial for bridging the rural-urban digital divide and maximizing the impact of e-government initiatives. Highlight : Positive community reception: SIPRAJA shows potential to improve public services in rural areas through streamlined access. Limited outreach and technical challenges: Concerns remain regarding inclusivity and sustainability due to lack of awareness and infrastructure. Bridging the digital divide: Targeted campaigns and infrastructure improvements are crucial for successful e-government initiatives in rural areas. Keywords: e-government, rural Indonesia, SIPRAJA platform, digital divide, inclusivity

Abstract

Islamic Social Finance (ISF) significantly promotes social welfare, poverty alleviation, and inclusive economic development, particularly in Muslim-majority countries like Indonesia. This study investigates institutional accountability within Islamic philanthropic organizations managing Zakat, Infaq, Sadaqah, and Waqf (ZISWAF) in Ponorogo, Indonesia. Addressing gaps in the literature that mostly focus on national or international levels, this study emphasizes local governance challenges, the relationship between accountability and public trust, and the need for a Sharia-based accountability model. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis involving five Islamic philanthropic institutions. Thematic analysis revealed significant variations in financial accountability, Sharia compliance, and social accountability across institutions, highlighting the critical role of transparent reporting, external audits, and community engagement in enhancing public trust. The study proposes an integrated accountability model encompassing financial, Sharia, and social dimensions, advocating for enhanced digitalization, standardized Sharia audits, and improved public literacy to optimize ZISWAF fund management. These findings contribute to the theoretical discourse on Islamic social finance and provide practical recommendations for policymakers and practitioners aiming to strengthen institutional accountability and advance sustainable development goals.

Abstract

eacher professionalism is a critical determinant of educational quality, yet it is often influenced by leadership practices and the prevailing work climate in schools. This study addresses the problem of limited empirical evidence regarding how situational leadership contributes to teacher professionalism through the mediating role of work climate in early childhood education. The research aimed to analyze the direct and indirect effects of principals’ situational leadership on teacher professionalism at Raudlatul Athfal Muslimat Nahdlatul Ulama Payaman, Magelang Regency. A quantitative explanatory design was employed involving 88 teachers selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using validated Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed through descriptive statistics, path analysis, and the Sobel test to examine mediation effects. The results showed that situational leadership significantly affected work climate (β = 0.62, p < .001) and teacher professionalism (β = 0.35, p < .001). Work climate also had a significant mediating effect (β = 0.25, Sobel z = 3.90, p < .001), explaining 64% of the variance in teacher professionalism (R² = 0.64). The study concludes that adaptive situational leadership strengthens teacher professionalism both directly and indirectly by creating a positive, collaborative, and supportive work climate.

Abstract

Background: Libraries play an important role in the teaching and learning process, especially in the realm of higher education. Generally, university libraries have complete facilities, but there are still minimal visitors. The lack of interest in visiting students in university libraries may be caused by factors in the library service system, including less friendly staff services or less aesthetic library layout. The research background starts from the condition of the UIN Ponorogo library which has minimal student visits, even though it has thousands of students. Objective: This study aims to determine the significant influence between independent variables (service system and aesthetics of library spatial layout) and bound variables (interest in visiting students of the Department of Islamic Education Management semester 4, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training UIN Ponorogo. Methods: This study uses quantitative and observational methods, sampling through non-probability sampling techniques with a sampling quota of 30 Islamic Education Management students in the 4th semester. Data collection through a questionnaire via google form, with a Likert scale. The analysis method used multiple linear regression analysis. Observation was carried out by directly observing the condition of the UIN Ponorogo library and analyzing library visit data. Conclusion: The results showed that the service system had a positive and insignificant effect on visitor interest, while spatial aesthetics had a positive and significant effect on visitor interest at a significance level of 5%. Simultaneously, the two variables had a positive and significant influence on visitor interest at a significance level of 5%. The service system contributed 6% and spatial aesthetics 20% to the interest of visitors, with a total donation of 26%. Thus, both variables had moderate influence, with 74% coming from other factors outside the study.
