Abstract

Background: Libraries play an important role in the teaching and learning process, especially in the realm of higher education. Generally, university libraries have complete facilities, but there are still minimal visitors. The lack of interest in visiting students in university libraries may be caused by factors in the library service system, including less friendly staff services or less aesthetic library layout. The research background starts from the condition of the UIN Ponorogo library which has minimal student visits, even though it has thousands of students. Objective: This study aims to determine the significant influence between independent variables (service system and aesthetics of library spatial layout) and bound variables (interest in visiting students of the Department of Islamic Education Management semester 4, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training UIN Ponorogo. Methods: This study uses quantitative and observational methods, sampling through non-probability sampling techniques with a sampling quota of 30 Islamic Education Management students in the 4th semester. Data collection through a questionnaire via google form, with a Likert scale. The analysis method used multiple linear regression analysis. Observation was carried out by directly observing the condition of the UIN Ponorogo library and analyzing library visit data. Conclusion: The results showed that the service system had a positive and insignificant effect on visitor interest, while spatial aesthetics had a positive and significant effect on visitor interest at a significance level of 5%. Simultaneously, the two variables had a positive and significant influence on visitor interest at a significance level of 5%. The service system contributed 6% and spatial aesthetics 20% to the interest of visitors, with a total donation of 26%. Thus, both variables had moderate influence, with 74% coming from other factors outside the study.

Abstract

Geopolitical tensions can affect the stability of companies, including Indonesia's banking sector. Geopolitical risk, as measured by the Geopolitical Risk Index (GRI), is an external factor that reflects economic and political uncertainty arising from global adverse events. This study aims to understand the dynamics of the interaction of geopolitical risk on the stability of banking indicators, including ROA, ROE, CAR, and NPL. Furthermore, this study aims to assess financial resilience in the banking sector amid geopolitical tensions. Sampling was conducted across banking categories, including KBMI 4, KBMI 3, Islamic banks, and regional development banks. The data used are quarterly panel time series from 2015 to 2024. The analysis was conducted using Panel Vector Autoregression (PVAR) with the Generalised Method of Moments (GMM) approach. The results show that the impact of the GRI shock on banking indicators is short to medium-term, with the most significant effects on profitability (ROA, ROE) and credit quality (NPL). The results confirm that global geopolitical pressures play a dominant role in explaining fluctuations in bank indicators in Indonesia, particularly capital efficiency and capital structure. Based on the dynamics of these interactions, Bank A, Bank B, Bank D, and Bank E are classified as more resilient, and Bank C, Bank F, Bank G, and Bank H are classified as less resilient. More resilient banks are characterised by a low GRI impact on ROA and CAR, and a quick return to stability, while less resilient banks have a high GRI impact on ROE and CAR.

Abstract

This study analyzes the polemics of gender identity discrepancy among volleyball athletes from the perspective of Indonesian civil law, focusing primarily on the implementation of Article 1365 of the Indonesian Civil Code (KUHPerdata). Employing a normative legal research method with a statutory and case-based approach, this study examines the qualification of identity inconsistency as a Tort (Perbuatan Melawan Hukum) that infringes upon the subjective rights of the federation and the principle of fairness in competition. The results indicate that an athlete's civil liability is predicated on the cumulative fulfillment of the elements of tort: fault (opzet or culpa), material damages (damnum emergens and lucrum cessans) and immaterial damages (reputational degradation), and a causal relationship satisfying the conditio sine qua non parameter. The implications of applying this norm introduce an extra-contractual restorative obligation for the perpetrator to perform restitutio in integrum, including the restitution of economic benefits (unjust enrichment). To mitigate systemic risks, this research recommends accelerating regulatory reform through amendments to the National Sports Law to mandate compulsory biometric verification and interoperable integration of civil registry databases. Furthermore, the establishment of a federation guarantee fund and the formulation of specific sports-related loss valuation guidelines are proposed as legal protection instruments to maintain the integrity and dignity of the national sports ecosystem sustainably.

Abstract

Early mathematics is an important foundation in shaping the logical thinking skills of young children. This study examines the effect of the APE Geometry Robot media on the understanding of basic mathematical concepts such as shapes, sizes, and patterns in children aged 3–4 years at KB 'Aisyiyah 29 Surabaya. Through a fun play approach, activities such as matching and grouping help children understand mathematics naturally. This study examines the effect of using the Educational Teaching Aids (APE) Geometry Robot media on the development of early mathematics understanding in 3-4 year old children at KB 'Aisyiyah 29 Surabaya. This study used a quantitative method with a one-group pre-test and post-test pre-experimental design. Data collection techniques included observation and documentation, with assessment indicators covering five aspects of early mathematical ability. The research sample consisted of 31 children. The Wilcoxon statistical test was used to test the effectiveness of the treatment. The results showed a significant increase in children's mathematical abilities after the implementation of the Geometry Robot media, as indicated by the rejection of the null hypothesis (T count = 0 < T table = 8). Interactive and concrete learning media such as the Geometry Robot have been proven to increase children's cognitive engagement, help them understand basic mathematical concepts, and foster logical, critical, and creative thinking patterns from an early age.
