Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to describe green economy practices by service providers in the Muarajambi Temple Complex, including implementation forms, supporting and inhibiting factors, and their impact on tourism sustainability and local communities. The study used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation of tour guides, MSMEs, local transportation providers, parking operators, and area managers. Data analysis was conducted thematically through the stages of data reduction, categorization, data presentation, and drawing conclusions to identify patterns of green economy practices developing in the tourist area. The results show that green economy practices are implemented through reducing plastic use, utilizing local materials, waste management, energy efficiency, and promoting environmentally friendly transportation. The implementation of these practices is supported by business awareness and support from area managers, although still facing obstacles such as limited infrastructure and differences in community awareness levels. These findings indicate that green economy practices contribute to tourism sustainability, business efficiency, and improving the welfare of the surrounding communityThis study aims to describe green economy practices by service providers in the Muarajambi Temple Complex, including implementation forms, supporting and inhibiting factors, and their impact on tourism sustainability and local communities. Abstract

The role of governors in leading economic and social transitions in transforming regions of Indonesia is crucial to achieving sustainability and stable growth. This article explores the concepts of transformational leadership and adaptive leadership in the context of significant economic change, particularly in relation to reducing dependence on extractive sectors such as mining and fossil fuels. Drawing on existing literature, this article identifies the challenges faced by governors in leading their regions through the stages of start-up, turnaround, accelerated growth, realignment, and sustaining success. Through the application of Michael Watkins' STARS model and Heifetz's theory of adaptive leadership, this article offers a deeper understanding of how governors can manage the transition to a green economy and mitigate the social impacts of major change. In addition, this article also highlights the importance of collaboration between the public, private, and community sectors in creating policies that support long-term sustainability.

Abstract

Leadership in government requires skills not only in technical and rational aspects, but also in managing complex emotional and social dynamics. Emotional intelligence is one of the key factors determining leadership effectiveness, because it plays a role in building communication, managing conflict, and strengthening employee trust and motivation. This study aims to conceptually analyze the role of emotional intelligence in shaping leadership effectiveness in government environments, by reviewing relevant empirical research. The results of the review indicate that emotional intelligence has a significant influence on employee performance, affective commitment, moral behavior, and innovation. The discussion highlights the five main dimensions of emotional intelligence: self-awareness, self-control, empathy, motivation, and social skills that contribute to ethical decision-making and the creation of a harmonious work climate. Furthermore, the integration of emotional intelligence in leadership has been shown to strengthen integrity and minimize the potential for bureaucratic conflict. In conclusion, emotional intelligence is not only a personal ability, but also a strategic competency necessary to realize government leadership that is adaptive, has integrity, and is oriented towards humanistic public service.

Abstract

Increasing operational complexity within port and logistics industries has intensified the importance of operational responsiveness, service recovery, and Costumer retention. Nevertheless, the mechanisms through which service excellence and complaint resolution influence competitive advantage and Costumer loyalty within operational service environments remain insufficiently explored. This study examines the relationships among service excellence, complaint resolution, competitive advantage, and Costumer loyalty in the operational context of PT Pelindo Regional 2. Drawing upon Relationship Marketing Theory and the Resource-Based View, the study positions complaint responsiveness and operational recovery capability as strategic determinants of organizational competitiveness and Costumer retention. Using survey data collected from 316 companies utilizing PT Pelindo Regional 2 services and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), the findings reveal that complaint resolution significantly strengthens both competitive advantage and Costumer loyalty. Service excellence also positively influences Costumer loyalty; however, it unexpectedly exerts a negative effect on competitive advantage. Furthermore, competitive advantage does not significantly influence Costumer loyalty and fails to mediate the relationships among the examined variables. These findings reveal the existence of a service-performance paradox within highly operational and infrastructure-based industries, where Costumers prioritize operational responsiveness and recovery capability over symbolic organizational superiority. The study contributes to service management literature by emphasizing complaint responsiveness as a more strategically relevant capability in sustaining Costumer loyalty and organizational competitiveness within port service industries.
