Abstract

The utilization of fishing gear has been growing until now. One of these tools is an underwater fishing light that has been used by fishermen. However, until now this device still works conventionally and only provides one color. Based on these problems and the rapid development of the internet of things (IoT), an underwater fishing light was created and designed that can work with the IoT system and provide various colors of light according to the needs of fishermen. The design of this tool uses several tools and materials, such as generators, power adapters, controller modules, generators, and the Magic Home Pro application. This tool operates at 12 V DC and consumes 144 W of electric power. Utilization of this tool can also indirectly reduce the consumption of electrical and fuel energy on board and support the blue economy. The results of testing the device show that the IoT system can work well, provide light colors according to orders, is waterproof, and provides a fairly good light intensity with an average of 6.89 Lux (0-8 Lux).

Abstract

Design and build a seaweed powder milling machine with the blue economy concept is one form of increasing the added value of selling seaweed in Indonesia and utilizing solar energy which is so abundant in Indonesia by using photovoltaic system. This machine is expected to increase the income of seaweed cultivators, and indirectly support the blue economy policy which is one of the policies in Indonesia. Design and build this machine using several supporting components, such as solar panel, battery control unit (BCU), inverter, battery, and motor to drive the seaweed powder milling machine. Testing is carried out by measuring the voltage and current output, and adding environmental conditions. Apart from that, the economics of the machine are also analyzed. Based on the results obtained, the machine can produce electrical energy in the range of 396.95-646 Wh/day, and can operate for up to 131 minutes, with a seaweed flour output of 10-20 kg per hour. From an economic perspective, the payback period is 0.22 years, NPV of IDR 605,286,359.01, with an IRR of 449%. From this value it can be seen that economically the tool is profitable if used by seaweed cultivators.

Abstract

The utilization of sawdust waste in East Nusa Tenggara has not been utilized optimally. This waste is only burned, so it sometimes causes air pollution. So there needs to be an effort to overcome these problems by making alternative energy in the form of briquettes. Analytical description method with observation, literature study and economic and energy analysis is used in this research. Sources of data in this observation came from direct observations in the field through questionnaires and interviews. Based on the data of sawdust waste produced can reach 20-60 kg per day and can be used as other forms of energy. This energy can be used as a source of electrical energy to replace conventional energy which is less environmentally friendly and fuel for burning fishery products in East Nusa Tenggara. Based on the value of the benefit-cost ratio (BCR) and payback period, good results were obtained with a value of 2.13 with a return on investment of 0.82 years. The generated electricity biomass can replace conventional electrical energy and provide cost savings of 19.2% per kWh. In addition, the utilization of this energy can have a positive impact on regional income, health, schools, and transportation as well as agriculture.

Abstract

Zada Hela Liveaboard is one of the tourist ships that serve shipping activities in East Nusa Tenggara, especially in the Labuan Bajo area. This ship is equipped with facilities that greatly pamper the passengers during their cruise activities. To be able to support and provide a sense of security and comfort to the passengers, good engine room watchkeeping activities are needed, but some shortcomings were found. The deficiencies in watchkeeping activities were then analyzed by observation and interviews with 6 respondents to make improvements. Improvement of engine room watchkeeping activities can finally be done by making a watchkeeping schedule, logbooks, and adding 3 assistant engineers. These items will be very helpful in checking and knowing the condition of the engine on the ship. The addition of 3 assistant engineers to assist the chief engineer is also very necessary. This is in accordance with STCW and to provide a longer rest time, so as to prevent fatigue when doing watchkeeping in the engine room.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan bantuan kepada petani rumput laut di Desa Tesabela, Kupang Barat, Kab. Kupang. Bantuan yang diberikan meliputi pembuatan konstruksi pengering para-para, melakukan penyuluhan cara penggunaannya, dan memberikan sosialisasi terkait peningkatan produktivitas dan kualitas rumput laut pasca panen. Pengering para-para mampu memberikan penjemuran rumput laut yang lebih bersih, karena rumput laut tidak diletakkan secara langsung di atas permukaan tanah. Selain itu air akan lebih mudah turun ke bawah karena menggunakan alas yang terbuat dari waring. Sehingga rumput laut hasil pengeringan memiliki kualitas yang lebih baik dan tidak berjamur. Hasil kegiatan ini memberikan pemahaman masyarakat bagaimana cara membuat pengering para-para dan cara penggunaannya secara mandiri, serta bagaimana cara meningkatkan produktivitas rumput laut serta peningkatan kualitas rumput laut pasca panen.

Abstract

Blood pressure is an important cardiovascular health indicator, with normal values set by the WHO at 140 mmHg for systole and 90 mmHg for diastole. Excess of these values indicates hypertension, which increases the risk of serious medical complications. This research developed an internet of things (IoT)-based blood pressure monitoring device, which facilitates digital blood pressure measurement and data transmission to widely accessible applications and websites. The device uses an MPX5050GP pressure sensor, Arduino Nano, and NodeMCU ESP32, as well as other components programmed using the Arduino IDE. Test results obtained from 10 subjects, the device showed an average difference in systole of 7.9 mmHg and diastole of 5.4 mmHg. This complies with recognized accuracy standards of a maximum error of 10 mmHg and indicates that the device operates effectively with the designed concept.

Abstract

Kedisiplinan penerapan kesehatan keselamatan kerja pada kru kapal sangat diperlukan. Hal ini akan memberikan dampak yang baik kepada diri sendiri dan juga orang lain. Kurangnya kedisiplinan penerapan kesehatan keselamatan kerja (K3) pada kru Kapal Motor Nelayan Stambharpura menyebabkan ditemukan beberapa kecelakaan. Oleh karena itu dilakukan sosialisasi untuk memberikan pemahaman, pelaksanaan dan penggunaan K3 yang baik. Kepada 11 responden dilakukan observasi, wawancara dan sosialisasi untuk peningkatan kedisiplinan penerapan K3. Hasil kegiatan menunjukan bahwa seluruh responden menunjukan adanya peningkatan pemahaman tentang K3 sebesar 55,84%. Penerapan disiplin K3 di atas kapal merupakan upaya untuk mencegah terjadinya kecelakaan kerja dan melindungi kesehatan para pekerja di tempat di atas kapal. Penerapan K3 yang baik dapat mengurangi risiko kecelakaan dan penyakit akibat kerja, meningkatkan produktivitas, dan menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang sehat dan aman. Penerapan K3 juga dapat membantu perusahaan mengurangi risiko kerugian finansial. Dengan mencegah terjadinya kecelakaan kerja dan penyakit akibat kerja, perusahaan dapat menghemat biaya perawatan medis dan ganti rugi. Selain itu, dengan lingkungan kerja yang sehat dan aman, perusahaan dapat meningkatkan reputasi dan citra baik di mata masyarakat.

Abstract

The fisheries industry, especially in the processing of lemuru fish, has various work risks that can affect the safety and health of workers. These risks include the use of sharp tools, exposure to chemicals, slippery work environments, and the potential for injury due to intensive production processes. Therefore, the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) is a crucial aspect in ensuring a safe, efficient, and productive work environment. However, in practice, there are still various obstacles in the implementation of OHS, such as lack of worker awareness, limited safety facilities, and a less-than-optimal supervision system. This study aims to analyze the implementation of OHS in the processing of lemuru fish at XYZ Company, Jembrana, and to identify obstacles and optimize strategies. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with observation techniques, interviews, and SWOT analysis of OHS policies. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of K3 has been running well through the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), compliance with work procedures, and the implementation of safety standards. To be able to optimize this activity, it can be done through increased training, routine supervision, and the use of IoT-based technology for monitoring the work environment. Computer-based OHS management systems, Virtual Reality (VR) technology for simulation, and automation of high-risk processes with robotics can also be applied to reduce work accidents. Data analysis with machine learning also helps in risk prediction. These implementation strategies can improve work safety, create a safer and more comfortable work environment, and increase the competitiveness of the industry in the global market.

Abstract

Optimal implementation of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) is important to create a safe, efficient, and productive work environment. This study examines the implementation of OHS in the modern lemuru fish processing industry. Various integrated strategies are implemented to minimize accident risks, increase productivity, and maintain product quality. Advanced technology approaches such as Internet of Things (IoT)-based monitoring systems, computer-based OHS management systems, and Virtual Reality (VR) technology for training are used. Automation of risky processes with robotics and automatic control technology reduces human involvement in hazardous activities. Data analytics based on machine learning and big data help predict and prevent potential accidents. The results of the study indicate that the integration of appropriate OHS technology and policies improves worker safety, strengthens industry competitiveness, and contributes significantly to long-term success in the modern lemuru fish processing industry.

Abstract

Abstrak - Bekerja di kapal perikanan memiliki tingkat resiko yang tinggi sehingga rawan menimbulkan kecelakaan kerja. Seringkali terjadi kecelakaan pada kapal perikanan yang disebabkan oleh human error yang mengakibatkan korban jiwa. sehingga diperlukan penelitan terkait implementasi K3 pada kapal perikanan. Tujuan penelitian adalah agar mengetahui penerapan K3 di KM. Berkah Melimpah 2 dan mengetahui alat K3 pada KM. Berkah Melimpah 2. Lokasi penelitian dilakukan di kapal penampung ikan yang dilakukan pada bulan Maret-Juni 2022. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini ABK KM. Berkah Melimpah belum menerapkan budaya safety dengan maksimal, hal ini disebabkan ABK tidak menggunakan baju safety saat melakukan aktifitas bongkar muat ikan, tidak ada pembagian dinas jaga dek dan dinas jaga mesin kepada ABK dan kebiasaan dari ABK yang tidak mengindahkan kebersihan dan kesehatan saat melakukan kegiatan pelayaran di kapal serta kebiasaan ABK yang mengkonsumsi alkohol pada saat kapal melakukan pelayaran. KM. Berkah Melimpah 2 tidak menyediakan helm, baju dingin, baju kerja dan jas hujan kepada ABK yang melakukan aktifitas di atas kapal pada saat kapal sedang berlayar. Adapun alat keselamatan yang disediakan oleh KM. Berkah Melimpah 2 adalah APAR 8 tabung, fire extinguisher ball 11 bola, lifejacket 24 buah, Obat P3K, hand safety 72 pasang, ringbuoy 2 buah, sepatu boots 24 pasang, radio komunikaasi dan AIS.
