Abstract

The implementation of carbon taxation is considered a more straightforward approach to managing climate change in Indonesia compared to the Emissions Trading System (ETS), as it offers a simpler execution process. Carbon tax is a derivative of Pigouvian tax, involving levies on economic activities that have negative environmental impacts. This aligns with the government's efforts to achieve medium and long-term emission reduction targets, combating hazardous greenhouse gas emissions. This research aims to identify carbon tax's potential as a revenue source for national progress. It is a literature-based study utilizing secondary data from both national and international journals. The research findings emphasize that carbon tax is a suitable and necessary alternative for Indonesia in addressing global warming and climate deterioration, while promoting economic development.Furthermore, carbon taxation holds the potential to augment state revenue through an expanded tax base, indirectly curbing carbon emissions and greenhouse effects. Therefore, carbon tax emerges as a solution to safeguarding the environment and fostering economic growth, as outlined in Indonesia's Medium-Term Development Plan for 2020-2024.

Abstract

The brotowali plant (Tinospra crispa (L.) has empirically been used for diseases such as fever, pain relief, lowering sugar levels and as an external medicine for wounds and itching. Brotowali stems are reported to be used to treat infectious diseases because they contain flavonoid compounds, saponins , tannins, glycosides .This study aims to identify the approximate compounds that have antimicrobial activity using bioautography, GCMS and infrared spectrophotometry methods. Extraction was carried out with 96% ethanol solvent by maceration method and partitioned using n-hexane and ethyl acetate. Antimicrobial activity was tested on 96% ethanol extract, n-hexane fraction and ethyl acetate fraction using the paper disc diffusion method against Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus substillis, and Candida albicans microbes. The results obtained showed that 96% ethanol extract, hexan fraction and water fraction did not show anti-bacterial activity. TLC results of the ethyl acetat fraction produced 4 spots with the largest diameter of the inhibition zone against microbes, so that the testing of the ethyl acetat fraction was continued with the bioautography method. The bioautography test showed that the antimicrobial activity was visible at hrf 42.8, then the extract was analyzed by infrared spectrophotometry and GCMS. Analysis with infrared spectrophotometry showed the presence of functional groups C=O, CH stretch, alkene(C=C), OH. The results of the GCMS analysis and the prediction of the identity of the peaks obtained using the database showed that the largest peak was octanoic acid, 4 hydroxy-3-methoxy vanillin, phenol, 2,4 bis(1,1-dimethyl ethyl, 2 pentadecanone, n-hexadecanoic). palmitic acid .According to the literature, 4 hydroxy-3 methoxy vanillin and palmitic acid were reported to have antimicrobial activity.

Abstract

Economic growth and a more even distribution of income are needed to improve social welfare. One of the most important indicators for measuring the economic growth of a region is the growth value of the gross regional domestic product (GRDP). The size of the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in Central Java can be predicted using a regression model. One of the estimation methods used in linear regression models is the LS method. The use of LS method becomes less appropriate if there is a violation of classical assumptions caused by outliers in the data. The M-estimation robust regression method can be used to solve outliers problem in the data. In this study, the M-estimation robust regression method was applied to the case of district or city GDP per capita data in Central Java Province in 2021. The weighting functions used were the Tukey bisquare weighting function and the Huber weighting function. The adjusted R-squared value and mean squared error (MSE) are used to determine the criteria for the best model. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that robust M-estimation regression with the Huber weighting function is the optimal parameter estimate for determining the best model. This is because the Huber weighting function has a higher adjusted R-squared value than the bisquare Tukey weighting function, and the Huber weighting function has a lower MSE than the bisquare Tukey weighting function

Abstract

This article explores the underlying factors contributing to early divorce in the city of Tasikmalaya, with a specific focus on couples who ended their marriages within the first five years. The aim of this study is to identify and analyze the main triggers of early divorce based on the perspectives of individuals who have directly experienced it. The research employs a qualitative method through in-depth interviews with three participants who went through early divorce. In addition, a literature review of academic and religious references supports the findings. The results indicate that early divorce is generally caused by couples’ unpreparedness in facing the challenges of married life, a lack of understanding regarding marital roles and responsibilities, poor communication, and financial pressures. A significant factor is the absence of sufficient knowledge, emotional maturity, and readiness prior to marriage, which increases the vulnerability to conflicts in the early years of marriage. This issue is often exacerbated by societal tendencies to prioritize the ceremonial aspects of weddings over the substantive preparation for family life. While Islam permits divorce under certain conditions, it remains an act that is disliked by Allah SWT. Therefore, to prevent early divorce, it is crucial to strengthen the foundations of marriage through comprehensive premarital education—emotionally, spiritually, and financially—in order to build a harmonious and resilient family characterized by sakinah, mawaddah, and rahmah.
