Abstract

The tutoring service is one of the efforts to accelerate education programs in underdeveloped villages so that national education goals can be achieved. In this case a team of service lecturers and students from HKBP University Nommensen Pematangsiantar conducted tutoring services at SD Negeri 122358 Pematangsiantar specifically for class VI students. The purpose of this activity is to find out problems related to learning during the Covid-19 pandemic and their impact if the tutoring service program is implemented properly. From the results of this activity it was known that the enthusiasm of the students was very pleasant because they received tutoring services that they had never enjoyed before. This activity develops student motivation at school. The biggest hope of the students and teachers at the school is that this program can be sustainable in the future.

Abstract

This research was a quasi-experimental research with a one shot case study research design with the sample in this research being students of the Mathematics Education Study Program at HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar University, totaling 30 people obtained using the Simple Random Sampling technique, namely the PM A1 group. The purpose of this research is to find out how the Problem Based Learning model influences mathematical reasoning abilities. The research results showed that the average post-test result of students' mathematical reasoning ability = 64.77, meaning that mathematical reasoning ability is classified as good and the average result of observation of the Problem Based Learning model = 71.1, meaning that learning is implemented using Problem Based Learning using the Problem Based Learning model has been done well. Based on the value of students' mathematical reasoning abilities, the regression equation Y ̂ = 26.38 + 0.54X, b = 0.54, means that if the Problem Based Learning model increases by 1 unit, it will increase students' mathematical reasoning abilities by 0.54 units. To test the linearity of the regression, it was obtained that Fcount < Ftable or 0.009 < 3.65, meaning that there is a linear and meaningful relationship between the Problem Based Learning model and mathematical reasoning abilities. The results of the regression significance test obtained by the sample using the F test obtained Fcount > Ftable or 28 > 4.20 3.65, meaning that there is an influence between the Problem Based Learning model and mathematical reasoning abilities. From the results of Product Moment correlation calculations, rcount = 0.916, meaning that there is a very strong or very high relationship between the learning model and mathematical reasoning abilities. To test the significance of the correlation coefficient, tcount > ttable or 12.085 > 2.048, meaning there is a very strong and meaningful relationship between the Problem Based Learning model and mathematical reasoning abilities. And the results of calculating the coefficient of determination obtained r2 = 97.65%, meaning that mathematical reasoning ability is influenced by the Problem Based Learning model by 83.91% while the remaining 16.09% is influenced by other factors. From the results of the research above, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Problem Based Learning model on reasoning abilities. So it is hoped that the Problem Based Learning model can be used as an alternative learning to improve mathematical reasoning abilities.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui tahapan pengembangan buku ajar teori bilangan berbasis kooperatif jigsaw dan respon mahasiswa terhadap buku ajar . Metode penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tiga tahap: Preliminary research,prototyping or development, dan assessment. Populasi penelitian mahasiswa Pendidikan Matematika Universitas HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar dengan jumlah 35 Orang. Data penelitian berupa kuesioner, angket validasi, kepraktisan, dan efektivitas. Analisis data menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif. Validasi buku ajar dilakukan oleh tiga validator dengan nilai 96,67%dikategorikan sangat baik.Respon mahasiswa sangat membantu dengan adanya buku ajar nilai 87,4% dan praktis digunakan dalam pembelajaran

Abstract

Playing is basically a natural activity that children mostly like. It can be used as a means of learning, at least learning about rules and roles. The aim of this research is to study how teacher's creativity influences the use of educational games in distance mathematics learning for eight graders. A number of thirty-five students from a public junior high school in North Sumatra involved in the study by completing a questionnaire regarding their perception on their teacher's creativity and reporting student's learning outcomes on mathematics subject. The authors did not conduct a test of learning outcomes but gathering the data from the school exam. The analysis shows there was contribution of teacher's creativity level into learning outcomes. Y = 50.030 + 0.424X with level of determination as much as 0.277. It can be concluded that it is evident that teacher creativity is an important factor. Although this study fails to show new conclusions, the large amount of determination level could trigger more elaborated research.

Abstract

This research aims (1) to describe the level of validity of mathematics learning media using Geogebra on the Cartesian Plane material, (2) to assess the mastery level of teachers and the students' engagement using Geogebra on the Cartesian Plane material, and (3) to explore educators' and students' responses to the development of mathematics learning media using Geogebra on the Cartesian Plane material at SMP Negeri 2 Pematang Siantar. The research design employed is Research and Development, following the ADDIE model consisting of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Based on the material validation results, it falls into the highly valid category with an average of 60.5, situated in the interval 54.6 ? VR < 65. Similarly, media validation is deemed valid with an average of 82, falling within the interval 68 ? VR < 84. The validated learning media was then implemented in the teaching process. Data analysis revealed that the teacher's mastery level averaged 92, categorized as practical within the interval 74.8 ? PR < 92.4. Additionally, during the trial, the students' engagement level averaged 47, falling in the interval 44.2 ? P < 54.6. The effectiveness of the developed learning media is evidenced by the students' achievement in the eighth-grade class at SMP Negeri 2 Pematang Siantar. Out of 30 students, 25 students achieved a passing grade with a percentage of 83.4%, while 5 students did not pass, constituting 16.6%. The developed learning media meets practical criteria, receiving highly positive responses from students with an average response rate of 94.97% and positive feedback from teachers with an average response rate of 82%.

Abstract

This research aims to determine whether there is an influence of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) instructional model on the mathematical problem-solving abilities of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 7 Pematang Siantar. The study employs a quantitative method, specifically a one-shot case study design. The population consists of all seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 7 Pematang Siantar for the academic year 2023/2024, totaling 288 students. Cluster Random Sampling was used to select a sample, and one class, namely VII-1, was chosen for the study, resulting in a total sample size of 30 students. Data were obtained through a questionnaire measuring students' perceptions of the Problem Based Learning model and a mathematics problem-solving ability test for seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 7 Pematang Siantar. The instruments utilized included 12 closed-ended statement questionnaires with Likert scale measurements and 5 mathematics problem-solving ability test questions. Following calculations, the conclusion drawn from the simple linear regression analysis with the equation Y’ = a + bX = 27.228 + 0.234X is that the calculated t-value (4.196) exceeds the critical t-value (2.042) at a significance level of 0.00 < 0.05. Consequently, the null hypothesis H0 is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis H  is accepted. The influence of the Problem Based Learning instructional model on the mathematical problem-solving abilities of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 7 Pematang Siantar is 38.6%. This implies that the Problem Based Learning model can affect students' mathematical problem-solving abilities by 38.6%, while the remaining 61.4% can be influenced by other factors

Abstract

Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran make a match terhadap hasil belajar matematika kelas XI MIPA SMA negeri 1 pematang siantar tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, dengan desain penelitian Pre-experimental Design menggunakan bentuk One-Shot Case Study. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Pematang Siantar, Jl. Parsoburan No.24 Pematang Siantar, Sumatera Utara. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada semester Ganjil tahun ajaran 2023/2024. populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Pematang Siantar tahun ajaran 2023/2024 dengan total keseluruhan siswa yaitu 252 siswa meliputi kelas XI MIPA 1, XI MIPA 2, XI MIPA 3, XI MIPA 4, XI MIPA 5, XI MIPA 6, dan XI MIPA7. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Purposive sample. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 30 siswa kelas XI MIPA 3. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan penggunaan model pembelajaran make a match terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas XI MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Pematang Siantar tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Pengaruh itu ditunjukkan melalui persamaan regresi Y = 11,421 + 0,221X. Pengaruh tersebut melalui uji-t, yaitu thitung > ttabel (12,612 > 2,048) atau p (sig.) < 0,05 (0,000 < 0,05) maka H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima yang artinya terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran make a match terhadap hasil belajar matematika materi persamaan trigonometri kelas XI MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Pematang Siantar tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Sumbangan varians variabel X (model pembelajaran make a match) terhadap variabel Y (hasil belajar matematika) sebesar 85%.

Abstract

Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Pendekatan Matematika Realistik (PMR) Terhadap Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Dalam Penyelesaian Soal Cerita Pada Kelas XI Sma Negeri 1 Pematang Siantar Tahun Ajaran 2023/2024. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Desain dalam penelitian ini yaitu One-Shot Case Study yakni terdapat suatu kelompok diberi treatment/perlakuan, dan selanjutnya di observasi hasilnya (treatment adalah sebagai variabel bebas, dan hasil adalah sebagai variabel terikat). Penelitian ini akan dilaksanakan di Sekolah SMA Negeri 1 Pematang Siantar kelas XI yang berlokasi di Jln. Parsoburan No. 24 Pematang Siantar dan dilaksanakan pada T.A. 2023/2024. Teknik pengumpulan data merupakan cara yang digunakan oleh peneliti dalam mengumpulkan data penelitiannya. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes, observasi, dokumentasi dan kuesioner. Kegiatan dalam analisis data adalah: mengelompokkan data berdasarkan variabel dan jenis responden, mentabulasi data berdasarkan variabel dari seluruh responden, menyajikan data tiap variabel yang diteliti, melakukan perhitungan untuk menjawab rumusan masalah, dan melakukan perhitungan untuk menguji hipotesis yang diajukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan matematika realistik (PMR) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan penggunaan Pendekatan Matematika Realistik (PMR) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah dalam penyelesaian soal cerita pada kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Pematang Siantar tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Problem Solving Terhadap Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis Pada Materi Spldv Kelas Viii Smp Negeri 3 Pematang Siantar. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif yaitu cara yang digunakan untuk menjawab masalah penelitian yang berkaitan dengan data berupa angka dan program statistik. Jenis metode eksperimen yang digunakan adalah metode Pre Eksperimental Design. Desain penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah one-Shot Case Study. Adapun lokasi penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Negeri 3 Pematang Siantar, Jl. Laguboti, Martimbang, Kec. Siantar Selatan, Pematang Siantar, Sumatera Utara 21125. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Purposive sample. Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII-7 dengan jumlah 29 siswa. Untuk memperoleh data yang akurat dalam penelitian ini, maka penelitian ini menggunakan 3 metode pengumpulan data yaitu observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari pengumpulan data, diperoleh sejumlah data yang akan memberikan jawaban terhadap problematik penelitian. Dalam pengolahan data dilakukan pengujian hipotesis terlebih dahulu dilakukan uji persyaratan analisis data, dalam hal ini dihitung uji normalitas. Tingkat kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematik dianalisis melalui data pretest dan postest yang diperoleh dari hasil test, dari hasil kedua test tersebut maka dilakukan uji hipotesis komparatif dalam hal ini peneliti menggunakan uji t. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan penggunaan model model Problem Solving terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Pematang Siantar Tahun Ajaran 2023/2024. Pengaruh itu ditunjukkan melalui persamaan regresi Y = -36,744 + 1,98X. Pengaruh tersebut melalui uji-t, yaitu thitung > ttabel ( 29,472 > 2,051) atau p (sig.) < 0,05 (0,000 < 0,05) maka H_0 ditolak dan H_(a ) diterima.
