Abstract

Inclusive education is an educational approach aimed at providing equitable access to all individuals regardless of differences in background, abilities, or specific conditions. In Islam, the concept of inclusivity is deeply rooted in values of justice, compassion, respect for diversity, and social responsibility. This study aims to explore the concept of inclusive education in Islam by examining its foundational values, philosophical underpinnings, and applications in the modern context. This research employs a library research methodology, analyzing primary sources such as the Qur’an, Hadith, and classical and contemporary Islamic scholarly works, as well as secondary sources from recent academic literature. Data are analyzed qualitatively using a descriptive-analytical approach to identify the principles of inclusive education in Islam. The findings indicate that Islam comprehensively supports inclusive education through universal values that are adaptable to changing times. Principles such as social justice, compassion (rahmah), and respect for diversity position Islam as a faith that promotes inclusivity. This study also compares Islamic perspectives with modern educational theories, highlighting the relevance of Islamic values in addressing the challenges of inclusive education in the globalized era. The implications of this study include the necessity of integrating Islamic values into modern education systems to create more equitable and harmonious learning environments. However, the study's limitation lies in the lack of empirical examination to assess the effectiveness of applying these values in practical educational settings. This research contributes original insights by providing philosophical and practical perspectives from Islam to support inclusive education, thereby enriching the global discourse on education for all.

Abstract

Education has an important role in shaping a quality generation, with the effectiveness of teacher teaching as the main factor. This research focuses on efforts to improve the quality of teachers in Madrasah Ibtidaiyyah (MI) through an Islam-based holistic education approach. The methods applied include mentoring and coaching in a teacher training program at MI Mubtadiin Playaran, Ngawi, East Java. The results showed that most teachers were still accustomed to using traditional learning methods and needed a deeper understanding of holistic education. The training program proved to be effective in improving teachers' skills, as seen from the increase in post-test scores compared to pre-test scores. The holistic education approach not only helps improve teachers' competencies, but also contributes to creating a more innovative learning environment. Thus, learners develop academically while having stronger character and spirituality.

Abstract

Despite the widespread use of Insya’ assessments in educational institutions, comprehensive evaluations of item quality covering validity, reliability, discrimination, difficulty, and cognitive levels based on Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy remain limited. Previous studies rarely integrate statistical analysis with cognitive classification, particularly in high school Arabic education. This study addresses that gap by analyzing ten Insya’ assessment items from Grade 12 students at Islamic Senior High School Darussalam Tasikmalaya. Data consisted of exam questions, student answers, and scores, supported by literature. Collection methods involved interviews, observation, and documentation, with analysis conducted using SPSS version 30. The results showed 80% of items were valid, with a reliability coefficient of 0.743. Discrimination analysis rated 30% very good, 40% good, 10% acceptable, and 20% poor. Difficulty analysis revealed that 10% of the items were difficult, 70% were moderate, and 20% were easy. Cognitive levels indicated 80% assessed Understanding (C2), 10% Applying (C3), and 10% Creating (C6), with only 10% categorized as higher-order thinking skills (HOTS). These findings highlight the need for improved item design that promotes higher-order thinking and aligns more effectively with cognitive learning goals.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been used in various applications that are able to translate Arabic and map its grammatical rules automatically. In the field of linguistics, especially Arabic, AI has the potential to help and speed up the translation process as well as complex grammar analysis. However, some linguistic aspects, such as sentence context, nuances of meaning, and i’rab interpretation, are still a challenge for AI systems. This article presents the analysis of AI's ability to punctuate, translate and map Arabic rules, and assess the extent to which it can replace humans. The research method used was a literature study with a content analysis approach. The objects studied were Arabic mahfudzhot selected based on the objectives with the book to analyze the AI with Kitab Nahwu Wadhih. This study found that the three AIs analyzed have their own advantages and disadvantages. ChatGPT has the largest percentage score in punctuation (harakat) and Arabic rule mapping (i’rab). As for the translation, Gemini has a superior percentage score compared to ChatGPT and Perplexity. Although AI is able to perform literal translation and structural analysis, the shortcomings were frequently showed as its results, so a human is needed to ensure accuracy and contextualized interpretation. These results showed that AI can serve as an effective tool, but cannot fully replace human expertise in Arabic linguistics.

Abstract

VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity) is one of the difficulties faced by society in the 5.0 era, which is a combination of the virtual world and the physical world. Therefore, the global community must adapt quickly and be malleable to face the changes. The 4Cs (critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication) are essential 21st century skills. To keep up with global trends, the Indonesian government has implemented a curriculum that emphasizes individual initiative and responsibility. This study aims at analyzing the Merdeka Belajar curriculum by using quality education in Islamic perspective. Merdeka Belajar (Freedom to learn) is the latest government policy related to the education curriculum, and hence, islamic perspective - based analysis needs to be conducted to see how this concept of Merdeka Belajar is in Islamic education. This study was a descriptive qualitative study by using literature studies to collect the data. The results showed that the government's Merdeka Belajar curriculum system can accommodate the skills needed for the society 5.0 era. The concepts and programs of Merdeka Belajar can improve critical and creative thinking skills, and develop communication and collaboration skills as well. Merdeka Belajar directs students to be able to compete globally. Holistic Islamic education, however, does not only appreciate the importance of building skills, but also creates learning that glorifies knowledge without reducing Islamic values. Therefore, the independent current curriculum applied needs to be adjusted to keep in line with both the values and the 21st century skill development.

Abstract

This study aims to answer and analyze the reform of Said Nursi's Islamic educational thought. Curriculum reform, methods and ideal educational goals shape morals and increase spirituality and knowledge. This research was conducted using an educational philosophy approach with the library method. As for the analysis, the researcher used the content analysis method. The data consists of primary and secondary data. Primary sources provide data directly from the first sources in Nursi's works. Secondary sources use the Al-Qur'an, hadith, books, journals, and articles. Data analysis identifies similarities, differences, or patterns from the data obtained. The findings of this study are that Nursi's educational reform model regarding curriculum is an integrated curriculum, namely the madrasah curriculum, mekteb, and tekke curriculum. By practising Faith-Science, debriefing, and comparison, a person will obtain quality knowledge and be pious morally and spiritually. Education aims to produce intellectual intellectuals. Based on the three findings above, it can be concluded that Said Nursi has brought renewal, as in Risale-l-Nur, from the conservative typology of Islamic educational thought that was developing at that time to the rational-religious typology of spiritual education oriented towards spiritual, moral and intellectual development of students, in an integrated manner.
