Abstract

This research is motivated by the low critical thinking ability in the learning of science class V UPT SDN 003. Bangkinang. One solution to overcome this problem is by applying the Problem Based Instruction (PBI) learning model. The purpose of this study is to describe the improvement of critical thinking ability in science learning by applying the Problem Based Instruction (PBI) model of class V students of UPT SDN 003 Bangkinang. The research method is classroom action research (CAR) which is carried out in two cycles. Each cycles consists of two meetings and four stages, namely, planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 22 class V students. Data and collection techniques were observation and documentation. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be seen that the increase in the results of students’ critical thinking abilities after the action, the average completeness of the results of critical thinking abilities was only 68 whith classical completeness of 40,90%, then in cycle I meeting I increased to 72 whith classical completeness of 50%, then in cycle I meeting II increased to 75 whith classical clompeteness of 59,10%. Furthermore, cycle II meeting I increased to 80 with classical clompeteness of 72,72% and cycle II meeting II increased to 83 with classical clompeteness 86,36%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the applicatition of the Problem Based Instruction (PBI) model can improve crotical thinking skills in science learning for fifth grade students of UPT SDN 003 Bangkinang.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve students' early reading skills through the use of picture word cards in grade 1 at UPT SDN 024 Limau Manis in the 2024/2025 academic year. The type of research used is classroom action research. The subjects of this study are 15 students, while the objects of this study are picture word cards and improving students' early reading skills. The study was conducted over two cycles, with each cycle consisting of two meetings. The data collection techniques used in this study were observation, testing, and documentation. Based on the increase in the number of students who met the criteria for achieving learning objectives (KKTP) and the improvement in class average scores and classical scores. The classical completion rate in Cycle I Session I was 46.66%, in Cycle I Session II 53.33%, and in Cycle II Session I 66.67%, then in Cycle II Session II 93.34%. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the use of illustrated word cards can enhance the reading skills of first-grade students at UPT SDN 024 Limau Manis.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low writing skills of students at SDN 024 Limau Manis. One solution to overcome this problem is to use a cooperative learning model of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) type. The purpose of this study was to describe the improvement of writing skills by using the CIRC type cooperative model of SDN 024 Limau Manis students. This research method is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which consists of two cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings and four stages, namely, planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this research were fourth grade students of SDN 024 Limau Manais. Data collection techniques were tests, observation, and documentation. The results of this study can be concluded that students' writing skills in the pre-action 54.46, in cycle I increased to 73.21 and in cycle II to 84.82. The increase in the percentage of students who reached the KKM in writing in the pre-action condition 28.57%, cycle I 57.14%. and cycle II increased to 71.42%. Thus it can be concluded that using the CIRC type cooperative learning model can improve the writing skills of grade IV students of SDN 024 Limau Manis

Abstract

The background of this study is the low level of student learning activity in social studies lessons at UPT SDN 007 Bangkinang, as indicated by the lack of active participation by students, such as asking questions, expressing opinions, and discussing. This study employed the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, conducted in two cycles, each consisting of two sessions. The instruments used in this study included observation sheets for student activities, teacher activities, and achievement tests. The results showed an increase in student learning activities from the pre-cycle to cycle II. In the pre-cycle, only 22% of students achieved the mastery category. After implementing the CTL model, there was a significant increase in cycles I and II, with an increase in student activity in learning activities. The CTL model proved capable of creating contextual, interactive learning and encouraging students to connect the material with their real-life experiences. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Contextual Teaching and Learning model can increase student learning activities in social studies learning in grade IV at UPT SDN 007 Bangkinang.

Abstract

The study investigates the application of the Circle and Quick on the Draw learning model in IPAS (Science, Social Studies, and Arts) lessons. The primary objective is to enhance students' collaboration skills within this subject this research is a classroom action research conducted in Class V at SD Negeri 010 Ratu Sima Dumai. This model is a group work model that emphasizes speed in activities such as thinking, reading, speaking, writing, and answeringquestions It aims to encourage active learning by having students work together to find, answer, and report information from various sources in agame-likesetting. Student collaboration is crucial as it involves working together to achieve common goals, respecting differing opinions, and fostering mutualsupport. It helps students develop social skills, manage conflicts constructively, and prepare for future professional life. ndicators of collaboration include communication, contribution within the group, respecting individual differences, encouraging participation, and completing tasks on time. Based on pre-action data, the collaboration skills of students in Class V at SD Negeri 010 Ratu Sima Dumai were low, with only 33.33% of students achieving the mastery criterion. Following the implementation of the Circle and Quick on the Draw model through two action cycles, a significant improvement in student collaboration skills was observed. In Cycle I, Meeting I, the percentage of students who achieved mastery in collaboration was 37.5%, increasing to 37.5% in Cycle I, Meeting II, 66.67% in Cycle II, Meeting I, and reaching 83.33% in Cycle II, Meeting II. This improvement indicates that the Circle and Quick on the Draw learning model is effective in enhancing student collaboration skills, successfully meeting the classical mastery target of 80%. concludes that the use of the Circle and Quick on the Draw learning model effectively improved student collaboration skills in IPAS lessons in Class V at SD Negeri 010 Ratu Sima Dumai.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of the audio-visual-based Make a Match type cooperative model can increase student learning motivation in Indonesian language lessons in grade V elementary school.  This research was conducted at SDN 013 Sungai Tarap, Kampa District, Kampar Regency. The form of this research is class action research. This research data was obtained by means of observation. After that the data was analyzed qualitatively. This research was carried out in two cycles, with four stages, namely the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Based on the results of the research by applying the audio-visual-based Make a Match learning model in Indonesian language lessons can increase student learning motivation. This is because students experience increased motivation by paying attention to each indicator of motivation in learning can be seen in each cycle of meetings. In cycle I, it is known that the level of student learning motivation is only in the “medium” classification with a percentage of only reaching 67%, meaning that it has not reached the expected indicators in this study, and after improvements are made in the second cycle, it increases to the “Very High” classification with a percentage reaching 86.5%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas V SD Muhammadiyah 019 Bangkinang Kota melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Solving. Latar belakang penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa masih rendah, dengan 13 dari 19 siswa (68%) belum mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) 70. Hal ini disebabkan oleh pembelajaran yang masih berpusat pada guru dan kurangnya penerapan langkah-langkah pemecahan masalah. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Pada Siklus I, persentase ketuntasan individu mencapai 33%, dan meningkat menjadi 68% pada Siklus II, melampaui target ketuntasan klasikal 60%. Peningkatan ini terlihat pada setiap indikator kemampuan pemecahan masalah, yaitu kemampuan memahami masalah, merencanakan penyelesaian, melaksanakan rencana, dan memeriksa kebenaran jawaban. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran Problem Solving efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Abstract This study aimed to enhance the mathematical problem-solving abilities of fifth-grade students at SD Muhammadiyah 019 Bangkinang Kota by implementing a Problem Solving learning model. The research was motivated by the students' low mathematical problem-solving skills, with 13 out of 19 students (68%) failing to achieve the minimum mastery criterion of 70. This deficiency was attributed to a teacher-centered learning approach and insufficient application of problem-solving strategies. Employing a Classroom Action Research (CAR) methodology, the study was conducted over two cycles. The findings demonstrated a significant improvement in students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. In Cycle I, the individual mastery percentage was 33%, which increased to 68% in Cycle II, thereby surpassing the classical mastery target of 60%. This improvement was evident across all indicators of problem-solving ability, including understanding the problem, devising a plan, executing the plan, and verifying the solution. Consequently, the Problem Solving learning model proved effective in fostering students' mathematical problem-solving skills.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low initial reading ability of children aged 5-6 years at TK Bhakti Pertiwi, Kampar Regency. For this reason, a concrete application is needed to be able to find the right way to relate to children's early reading abilities, namely the application of word connection games. This type of research is classroom action research which is an examination of learning activities in the form of actions, which are deliberately created and occur in a class together with a total of 12 children consisting of 6 boys and 6 girls. . Data collection techniques for data collection in this research are observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this research is the percentage technique. From the results of classroom action research and discussions as described, a conclusion was drawn regarding the results of this research, namely that through the application of word connection games, it can improve the early reading skills of children aged 5-6 years at TK Bhakti Pertiwi, Kampar Regency. The early reading ability of children aged 5-6 at TK Bhakti Pertiwi, Kampar Regency through word connection games has increased every cycle. In the pre-cycle, an average score of 39.06% was obtained with the BB (Not Yet Developed) criteria. After improvements were made in cycle I, a score of 57.03% was obtained with MB (Starting to Develop) and in cycle II a score of 78.13% was obtained with BSB (Very Well Developing) criteria. For this reason, a concrete application is needed to be able to find the right way to deal with children's gross motor skills, namely playing hide and seek. This research aims to find out whether playing hide and seek can improve gross motor skills in children aged 5-6 years at TK Bhakti Pertiwi, Kampar Regency. This type of research is classroom action research which is an examination of learning activities in the form of actions, which are deliberately created and occur in a class together with a total of 13 children. Data collection techniques for data collection in this research are observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this research is the percentage technique. From the results of classroom action research and discussions as described, a conclusion was drawn regarding the results of this research, namely that the application of playing hide and seek can improve the gross motor skills of children aged 5-6 years at TK Bhakti Pertiwi, Kampar Regency. The gross motor skills of children aged 5-6 at TK Bhakti Pertiwi, Kampar Regency through playing hide and seek have increased every cycle. In the pre-cycle, an average score of 38.85% was obtained with the BB (Not Yet Developed) criteria. After improvements were made in cycle I, a score of 54.04% was obtained with MB (Starting to Develop) and in cycle II a score of 80.19% was obtained with BSB (Very Well Developing) criteria. For this reason, a concrete application is needed to find the right way to relate to children's cognitive abilities, namely the number bottle cap game. This research aims to find out whether the application of the number bottle cap game can improve cognitive abilities in children aged 5-6 years at TK Bhakti Pertiwi Kampar Regency. This type of research is classroom action research which is an examination of learning activities in the form of actions, which are deliberately created and occur in a class together with a total of 17 children. Data collection techniques for data collection in this research are observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this research is the percentage technique. From the results of classroom action research and discussions as described, a conclusion was drawn regarding the results of this research, namely that the implementation of the number bottle cap game activity can improve the cognitive abilities of children aged 5-6 years at TK Bhakti Pertiwi Kampar Regency. The cognition of children aged 5-6 at TK Bhakti Pertiwi Kampar Regency, through the implementation of the number bottle cap game activity, has increased every cycle. In the pre-cycle, an average score of 43.38% was obtained with the BB (Not Yet Developed) criteria. After improvements were made in cycle I, a score of 54.23% was obtained with MB (Starting to Develop) and in cycle II a score of 78.68% was obtained with BSB (Very Well Developing) criteria.
