Abstract

Clothing can be categorized into several types, such as everyday wear, workwear, festive attire, and traditional costumes. Everyday wear is used for daily activities at home or in society. Workwear is worn when someone is working, like teacher's attire or office clothing. Festive attire is specifically for celebration events, such as birthdays or weddings. On the other hand, traditional costumes are worn during customary ceremonies and hold sacred values. The traditional costume of "bundo kanduang" in Minangkabau carries philosophical and cultural significance for the community. It represents the position and role of a "bundo kanduang" in the Minangkabau traditional society. A "bundo kanduang" is an esteemed woman within a clan, responsible for domestic affairs in the community. The term "bundo kanduang" is often used as a synonym for women, yet its interpretation varies in the society of West Sumatra. There are three versions of the term: the story of "kaba" the perspective of women in West Sumatra, and the view of the Minangkabau traditional community. The traditional costume of "bundo kanduang" in Minangkabau has distinctive elements, such as "tingkuluak" (headpiece), "baju kuruang basiba" (upper garment), "kodek" (skirt), "salempang" (sash), jewelry, and footwear. Each part of the attire symbolizes specific meanings and signifies the role and responsibility of a "bundo kanduang" within her community. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the traditional costume of "bundo kanduang" in Batipuah Baruah, Tanah Datar, possesses unique characteristics and profound cultural significance in Minangkabau's heritage. In conclusion, the preservation of the traditional costume of "bundo kanduang" is vital to safeguard the cultural richness of Minangkabau. With the passage of time, changes in the form of traditional attire can alter the meanings and symbols embedded within it. Therefore, documenting and inventorying the forms of traditional clothing is crucial for understanding and preserving this cultural heritage.Keywords: shapes, traditional clothes, bundo kanduang, women. AbstrakPakaian memiliki beberapa kategori, seperti pakaian sehari-hari, pakaian kerja, pakaian pesta, dan pakaian adat. Pakaian sehari-hari digunakan dalam aktivitas sehari-hari di rumah atau di tengah masyarakat. Pakaian kerja dipakai ketika seseorang sedang bekerja, seperti pakaian guru atau pakaian kantor. Pakaian pesta adalah pakaian khusus untuk acara perayaan, seperti ulang tahun atau pernikahan. Sedangkan pakaian adat adalah pakaian tradisional yang dipakai dalam upacara adat dan memiliki nilai sakral. Pakaian adat bundo kanduang di Minangkabau memiliki makna filosofi dan nilai budaya masyarakat yang mengenakannya. Pakaian ini menggambarkan posisi dan peran seorang bundo kanduang dalam masyarakat adat Minangkabau. Bundo kanduang adalah seorang wanita yang dituakan dalam suatu suku, yang memegang pimpinan urusan domestik dari suatu kaum dalam lingkungan masyarakat adat. Istilah bundo kanduang sering digunakan sebagai kata ganti untuk kaum wanita, namun pengertian bundo kanduang dalam masyarakat Sumatera Barat bervariasi. Terdapat tiga versi istilah bundo kanduang, yaitu versi cerita kaba, versi kaum wanita Sumatera Barat, dan versi masyarakat adat Minangkabau. Pakaian adat bundo kanduang di Minangkabau memiliki bentuk yang khas, seperti tingkuluak, baju kuruang basiba, kodek, salempang, perhiasan, dan alas kaki. Setiap bagian pakaian memiliki simbol dan makna tertentu yang menggambarkan peran dan tanggung jawab seorang bundo kanduang dalam kaumnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pakaian adat bundo kanduang di Batipuah Baruah, Tanah Datar memiliki karakteristik yang unik dan memiliki makna mendalam dalam budaya Minangkabau. Abstract

The Adityawarman Museum in West Sumatra plays a significant role in preserving and presenting a diverse collection of Minangkabau culture, encompassing various aspects of art, history, and culture. The aim of this research is to describe the collections of the Adityawarman Museum as one of the sources of learning for art and culture. This is a qualitative study with a descriptive approach. The museum gathers collections that include geologica, biologica, ethnographica, archaeologica, historica, numismatics/heraldry, philologica, ceramics, fine arts, and technology, reflecting a rich and diverse cultural heritage. The museum serves as a non-formal educational institution that can enhance public understanding of history, art, and culture. The Adityawarman Museum plays a strategic role in preserving and communicating the cultural heritage of West Sumatra, and with the right efforts, it can become an engaging and educational learning center for both the current and future generations.Keywords: museum, Adityawarman, collection. learning, culture. AbstrakMuseum Adityawarman di Sumatera Barat memainkan peran penting dalam melestarikan dan menyajikan beragam koleksi budaya Minangkabau yang mencakup berbagai aspek seni, sejarah, dan budaya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendesktipsikan koleksi Museum Adityawarman yang sebagai salah satu sumber belajar seni dan budaya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Abstract

This research aims to describe the existence, dynamics, and strategies of the inheritance of traditional Silotuang music in Jagoi Village, Bengkayang Regency. Using a qualitative approach with case studies, this research reveals that Silotuang remains an important part of various traditional ceremonies and music festivals in the village. However, the socio-cultural dynamics have brought changes to the number of players, the form of the instruments, and the frequency of Silotuang performances. The inheritance strategy implemented so far includes extracurricular activities at school and involvement in the festival. Data were obtained through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis using the interactive Miles and Huberman model, which includes data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and data verification. The validity of the data uses source and technique triangulation accompanied by prolonged observation. The result of this study highlights the importance of Silotuang as a cultural identity and urges continuous efforts from various parties to preserve it. roader efforts in preserving traditional music so that Silotuang remains a cultural heritage that is preserved and sustainable are the hope for further research, and developing the Silotuang instrument in the real of multidisciplinary sciences and creative product development.

Abstract

This study explores the educational values embedded in the Meruba ritual of the Dayak Krio community, focusing on its role in supporting socio-cultural learning practices based on indigenous knowledge. The core issue addressed is how the Meruba ritual serves as a medium for transmitting religious, social, and moral values across generations, thereby strengthening social cohesion and cultural sustainability. The objective of this research is to analyze the procession and educational meanings of the Meruba ritual and emphasize its relevance within the context of multicultural education. Utilizing the theoretical framework of socio-cultural learning, which views social interaction as the foundation of the learning process, and the concept of indigenous knowledge, which explains how local knowledge systems are transmitted through cultural practices, this study positions the Meruba ritual as a vehicle for knowledge transfer encompassing spiritual, social, and moral dimensions. The research employs a qualitative approach, using participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis conducted on June 24–25, 2024. These methods aim to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the ritual's implementation and the educational values contained within it. The findings reveal that the Meruba ritual consists of three stages: the initial procession, the core procession, and the closing procession. Each stage incorporates specific educational dimensions, including religious values that reinforce spiritual beliefs and ancestral reverence, social values that foster solidarity and collective participation, and moral values that instill ethics and social responsibility in younger generations. The Meruba ritual is not merely a cultural practice but also serves as an effective medium for socio-cultural learning grounded in indigenous knowledge. The novelty of this study lies in its holistic approach to understanding Meruba as an educational praxis that bridges indigenous knowledge with multicultural education, offering significant contributions to the development of learning models based on local wisdom.

Abstract

The article aimed to analyze the limited face-to-face learning strategy during the Covid-19 pandemic at Islamic Private Junior High Schools Pontianak. With the limited implementation of face-to-face learning, schools were required to design learning strategies that in accordance with the conditions of learning implementation during the Covid-19 pandemic. As has been applied at this school from the results of this study, both in the school environment, teaching and learning activities and the availability of various health protocol facilities as a strategy for implementing face-to-face learning during the pandemic. The research used descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques incuded observation, interviews and documentation. The limitations of face-to-face learning at Islamic Private Junior High Schools Pontianak were the number of years of study at school, the lack of interaction and the implementation of assessments which had better transformation. Meanwhile, Islamic Private Junior High Schools Pontianak had merely once a week for learning implementation, so schools must maximize learning strategies. This research aims to describe the existence, dynamics, and strategies of the inheritance of traditional Silotuang music in Jagoi Village, Bengkayang Regency. Using a qualitative approach with case studies, this research reveals that Silotuang remains an important part of various traditional ceremonies and music festivals in the village. However, the socio-cultural dynamics have brought changes to the number of players, the form of the instruments, and the frequency of Silotuang performances. The inheritance strategy implemented so far includes extracurricular activities at school and involvement in the festival. Data were obtained through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis using the interactive Miles and Huberman model, which includes data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and data verification. The validity of the data uses source and technique triangulation accompanied by prolonged observation. The result of this study highlights the importance of Silotuang as a cultural identity and urges continuous efforts from various parties to preserve it. roader efforts in preserving traditional music so that Silotuang remains a cultural heritage that is preserved and sustainable are the hope for further research, and developing the Silotuang instrument in the real of multidisciplinary sciences and creative product development.

Abstract

Pelatihan musik Tebah Unop sebagai salah satu musik tradisional Dayak di Kalimantan Barat dilakukan sebagai wujud dari program kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang menjadi agenda periodikal dengan tujuan untuk menyebarluaskan seni tradisi yang dimiliki oleh Kalimantan Barat kepada masyarakat. Alasan kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah sebagaimana masyarakat lintas daerah di Kalimantan Barat juga dapat memiliki pengalaman untuk mempraktikkan dan mengembangkan musik tradisional Tebah Unop. Metode yang digunakan adalah pelatihan dengan proses kegiatan mencakup dua tahap yakni sosialisasi materi musik Tebah Unop dan pelatihan musik Tebah Unop. Sasaran pihak mitra pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah Sanggar Muara Talino dan Malahiya sebagai representasi masyarakat Ambawang di Desa Lingga. Hasil kegiatan adalah bahwa masyarakat Ambawang dan peserta dari Sanggar memberikan apresiasi dan mendukung pelatihan musik Tebah Unop. Bentuk apresiasi adalah dilakukannya pertunjukan kolaborasi dari peserta dan tim pengabdian dalam memainkan musik Tebah Unop sedangkan, dukungan pelatihan disampaikan oleah Dewan Adat Dayak Ambawang maupun perangkat Desa yang berharap dari tim pengabdian dapat memberikan pelatihan seni-seni tradisi yang lain sehingga masyarakat Ambawang dan umumnya masyarakat Kalimantan Barat dapat mengetahui dan mempalajari kesenian tradisional yang dimiliki di tiap daerah serta dapat melestarikannya.

Abstract

Introducing songs to children can hone their sensitivity, literacy skills, and language diversity. Introducing children's songs through their creation based on local wisdom can also be a form of preservation of their culture. The PKM objective of this training program is for elementary school teachers in Sukadana, North Kayong, to have basic skills in making children's songs based on the identity and characteristics of the region. The training methods used are lectures, questions and answers, demonstrations, practices, simulations, and reflections. The results of the PKM children's song creation training program are that there are approximately 15 elementary school teachers who are enthusiastic about making children's songs with the rules and musical elements that have been taught. In addition, various themes of children's songs based on local wisdom have been explicitly and implicitly written in song lyrics for the 2–5 grade range.
