Abstract

Pada akhir tahun 2019, muncul coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) yang disebabkan oleh severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), yang menjadi ancaman serius bagi kesehatan masyarakat global sampai saat ini. Seiring berjalannya waktu, pengembangan obat repurposing telah menjadi metode yang efektif. Flavonoid, sejenis senyawa, telah dikenal memiliki sifat antivirus. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi lima senyawa flavonoid (Genistein, Daidzein, Glycitein, Formonoetin, dan Biochanin A) yang sudah dikenal memiliki berbagai manfaat farmakologi dalam menghambat aktivitas RdRp SARS-CoV-2. Untuk melakukan analisis, metode molecular docking digunakan dengan menggunakan software AutoDockTools 1.5.6. Prediksi sifat farmakokinetik dan farmakodinamik dilakukan dengan menggunakan SwissADME, sedangkan untuk mengevaluasi toksisitas, digunakan ProTox II. Hasil molecular docking menunjukkan bahwa kelima senyawa flavonoid memiliki hasil yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan senyawa kontrol positif remdesivir. Selain itu, hasil prediksi sifat farmakokinetik, farmakodinamik, dan toksisitas menunjukkan bahwa Biochanin A, Glycitein, Genistein, dan Formonoetin memiliki potensi terbaik untuk dikembangkan sebagai obat antivirus COVID-19 dengan kemampuan mengikat reseptor RdRp dengan PDB id. 6M71.

Abstract

Purpose: The current community service activities aim to provide knowledge and skills related to mangosteen and its processed products to the Songgon Village community Method: Transfer of knowledge and skill by lecturing and practice. Pre and post-tests were carried out to evaluate the participants’ knowledge before and after the workshop. Practical Applications: The knowledge and skill gained by PKK and Karang Taruna cadres in this workshop can be implemented in daily life. The participants learned how to make innovative products from mangosteen fruit so that it can be produced commercially. Thus, in the long term is expected to increase the income of Songgon Village Community. Conclusion: The results showed the participants' enthusiasm to participate in this activity, and the pre and post-tests demonstrated increased knowledge and skills. The next step requires intensive support for the Songgon Village community so that their products can be distributed commercially and provide economic benefits.

Abstract

Indonesia merupakan negara dengan kekayaan sumber alam terbesar kedua di dunia, dan lebih dari 4000 spesies merupakan tanaman obat. Tanaman telah diketahui mengandung berbagai senyawa metabolit yang dapat memberikan berbagai khasiat farmakologi. Hal ini memberikan potensi yang besar untuk dikembangkan sebagai sumber yang bermanfaat bagi masyarakat, khususnya dalam bidang kesehatan. Namun pemanfaatannya masih terbatas dan masih banyak yang belum mengenal khususnya pada generasi muda/milenial, sehingga perlu upaya untuk peningkatan pemahaman dan pemanfaatan tanaman obat khususnya generasi muda. Oleh karena itu kegiatan ini ditargetkan pada generasi muda. Kegiatan yang dilakukan dengan pemberian materi tentang manfaat tanaman obat dan pelatihan cara pembuatan persediaan herbal. Penjelasan tentang berbagai manfaat tanaman untuk meningkatan kesehatan dan berbagai ramuan tradisional dipaparkan dalam materi yang diberikan. Evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan dengan memberikan pre-test sebelum pemaparan materi dan praktik pembuatan kemudian dilakukan evaluasi setelah kegiatan/post-test. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman siswa yang ditunjukkan dengan kemampuan menjawab pertanyaan dengan jawaban benar yang meningkat.

Abstract

Background: Menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) is a cramp in the lower abdomen that occurs during menstruation, while menstrual pain that is experienced without any abnormality in the reproductive organ is called primary dysmenorrhea. Primary dysmenorrhea case experienced by the patient is complaints of pain in the lower part, sometimes spreading to the waist and feeling like pressure or squeezing which occurs within 1-2 days of menstruation. Purpose: Determine the effect of abdominal massage therapy and tamarind turmeric herbs on reducing primary dysmenorrhea. Case analysis: A case study for treating menstrual pain using abdominal massage and herbal methods. Abdominal massage therapy is performed on the abdominal area and herbal therapy is given to the patient, namely herbal turmeric (Curcuma longa Linn.) and tamarind fruit which have analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory effects. Result: Turmeric and tamarind contain active compounds curcumin and anthocyanin which work together to inhibit cyclooxygenase (COX) reactions so that they can inhibit or reduce inflammation and uterine contractions which cause menstrual pain. The treatment for primary dysmenorrhea is abdominal massage therapy 14 times, once every 2 days for 30 days. Meanwhile, tamarind turmeric herbal therapy is given 2 times a day for 7 days before menstruation and the first 3 days during menstruation with a combination dose of 10 grams of turmeric rhizome and 5 grams of tamarind fruit. Conclusion: Abdominal massage therapy and tamarind turmeric herbs affect reducing menstrual pain in the case of primary dysmenorrhea.

Abstract

The food industry experiences various serious problems when several food MSMEs (micro/small/medium enterprises), especially micro-scale ones, practice improper food manufacturing methods, such as the use of formalin and borax which are prohibited for food preservation, and the marketing of expired food, even repackaged, and the writing of halal labels that are not followed by the fulfillment of requirements. Efforts to prevent things that are detrimental to the community, as well as food and beverage MSME actors, are not only the responsibility of government agencies but also the entire community, including universities for education and assistance in improving the quality and quantity of products produced, as well as the quality of human resources of business actors. The methods used include counseling and skills training, and the outcome is an increase in knowledge of 31%

Abstract

The coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) has infected nearly 4 million people worldwide. This virus was first identified in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. Every day positive cases of Covid-19 are increasing in the world. Experts are still trying to find a vaccine to prevent this virus, one of which is by increasing the body's resistance (immunity). The use of family medicinal plants (TOGA) or tea, a drink that we usually drink every day is believed to increase one's body immunity. The content of natural chemicals in tea such as EGCG and curcumin found in the rhizomes have antioxidant activity and is clinically proven to increase a person's immunity.

Abstract

Abstrak Desa Songgon adalah salah satu desa di Kabupaten Banyuwangi yang dikembangkan sebagai desa wisata. Desa ini memiliki kekayaan alam yang melimpah terutama buah manggis sebagai komoditas unggulan. Masyarakat Desa Songgon memanfaatkan buah manggis untuk konsumsi sehari-hari dan dijual. Harga buah manggis di pasaran sangat fluktuatif terutama saat musimnya harganya sangat murah.  Permasalahan lain yang dihadapi adalah dari kulit buah manggis yang kerap kali hanya menjadi limbah rumah tangga. Oleh karena itu perlu adanya program peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan terkait pengolahan kulit buah manggis menjadi berbagai produk berdaya jual serta strategi pemasarannya kepada warga Desa Songgon. Metode yang dilakukan berupa penyuluhan dan praktek pembuatan produk kepada kader PKK dan karang taruna Desa Songgon. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah meningkatnya pengetahuan peserta dilihat dari kenaikan nilai pre-test 54,9 menjadi 83,9 pada post-test. Peserta juga mendapatkan keterampilan dalam pembuatan teh celup dan sabun antibakteri dengan bahan dasar kulit buah manggis.  Hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan dari teh celup mangostana dan mangostana mix yang dibuat menunjukkan bahwa produk teh yang dibuat memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang baik. Pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang diperoleh kader PKK dan Karang Taruna diharapkan dapat diimplementasikan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Peserta belajar bagaimana membuat produk inovatif dari buah manggis sehingga dapat diproduksi secara komersial. Dengan demikian, dalam jangka panjang diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat Desa Songgon. Kata kunci: Desa Songgon; Banyuwangi; buah manggis; inovasi produk. Abstract Songgon Village is one of the villages in Banyuwangi Regency that is developed as a tourist village. This village is rich in natural resources, with mangosteen being one of the most valuable commodities. The people of Songgon Village use mangosteen for daily consumption and for trade. The price of mangosteen on the market is very fluctuating, especially during mangosteen season, it is very cheap. Another issue faced is the mangosteen rind often becomes household waste. The purpose of this community service is to enhance the knowledge and skills of the residents of Songgon Village regarding the processing of mangosteen rind into a variety of innovative health products as well as the marketing strategy of the product. The method used is counseling and practices for PKK cadres and youth organizations of Songgon Village. The results of this program showed that there was an increase in the knowledge of participants according to the pre-test score (54,9) to 83,9 in post-test. Participants also gain the skill in making tea and soap from mangosteen rinds. The antioxidant activity of the tea products, mangostana and mangostana mix, showed good antioxidant activity of the tea infusion. The knowledge and skill gain by participants related innovative products from mangosteen fruit can be implemented, so that they can be produced commercially. Abstract

Abstrak Desa Bengkaung adalah desa yang terletak di kecamatan Batu Layar, Lombok Barat, Nusa Tenggara Barat.  Banyak potensi pada desa Bengkaung yang masih bisa dikembangkan diantaranya adalah sumber daya alam yang berlimpah. Namun, pemanfaatan sumber daya alam ini belum maksimal, yang disebabkan oleh kurangnya pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai manfaat dan  pengolahannya. Maka dilakukan pengabdian masyarakat yang berlangsung 2 tahap yaitu seminar terkait pojok herbal dan pelatihan pembuatan teh dan sirup dengan bahan kayu manis, kunyit, temu lawak, asam jawa, kapulaga untuk sediaan sirup serta bangle pada sediaan teh herbal yang berfungsi untuk meningkatkan kesehatan masyarakat. Kegiatan tersebut dilaksanakan  pada 25 Oktober 2024 dengan mitra terdiri dari  anggota IAI  kota Mataram dan kader PKK desa Bengkaung. Adapun materi pelatihan diberikan dengan metode ceramah dan metode praktik. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan cara pemberian pre-test dan post-test, kemudian dianalisis secara kuantitatif. Berdasarkan hasil pre-test dan post-test, diperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 60,94 dan 79.37, yang menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan mitra terhadap materi penyuluhan yang diberikan. Teh daun salam dan JKP-Bangle dievaluasi dengan pengukuran kadar antioksidan dengan DPPH dan FRAP assay. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kadar antioksidan the daun salam dan JKP-Bangle dengan FRAP assay memperoleh kadar tertinggi tertinggi nilai masing-masing sebesar 1359.84±13.47 mg GAE/g berat kering dan 396.73±16.79 mg GAE/g berat kering. Aktivitas antioksidan yang tinggi ini mengindikasikan potensi manfaat kesehatan dalam menangkal stres oksidatif yang berhubungan dengan penyakit neurodegeneratif, kardiovaskular, dan diabetes. Kata kunci: Desa Bengkaung; pojok herbal; tanaman obat; antioksidan. Abstract Bengkaung Village is a village located in Batu Layar sub-district, West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.  There is a lot of potential in Bengkaung Village that can still be developed, including abundant natural resources. However, the utilization of these natural resources has not been maximized, this is caused by a lack of public knowledge regarding their benefits and processing. So community service was carried out which took place in 2 stages, namely seminars related to the herbal corner and training in making tea and syrup using cinnamon, turmeric, ginger, tamarind, cardamom for syrup and bangle preparations, as well as bangles for herbal tea preparations which function to improve health. public. This activity was carried out on 24-26 October 2024 with partners consisting of IAI members from Mataram city and PKK cadres from Bengkaung village. The training material is provided using the lecture method and the Experimental Learning method (direct implementation learning). Evaluation is carried out by giving a pre-test and post-test, then analyzed quantitatively. Based on the results of the pre-test and post-test, an average score of 60.94 and 79.37 was obtained, which indicates an increase in partners' knowledge of the extension material providedrn how to make innovative products from mangosteen fruit so that they can be produced commercially. Thus, in the long term it is expected to increase the income of the Songgon Village residents. Antioxidant levels of bay leaf tea and JKP-Bangle were evaluated using DPPH and FRAP assays. Analysis results showed that the highest antioxidant levels measured by the FRAP assay were 1359.84±13.47 mg GAE/g dry weight for bay leaf tea and 396.73±16.79 mg GAE/g dry weight for JKP-Bangle. This high antioxidant activity indicates potential health benefits in combating oxidative stress associated with neurodegenerative, cardiovascular, and diabetes-related diseases. Keywords: Songgon Village; herbal corner; medicinal plants; antioxidants.

Abstract

Product branding and effective financial management are essential to boosting the economy of processed food production. However, PKK mothers in Rangkah Tambaksari Village, Surabaya, face challenges, including limited skills in attractive packaging techniques and financial management for calculating business profits and losses. These challenges serve as the basis for community service activities aimed at supporting the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi initiative. The activities include counseling on product branding and financial management to help address these issues. The goal is to improve the quality of processed food production and its connection to human health, ultimately fostering a healthy and prosperous community. Improving the participants' skills is also expected to increase economic value, contributing to efforts to overcome poverty (aligned with the "No Poverty" sustainable development goal). The program employed methods such as counseling sessions and hands-on skills training. As a result of these activities, participants showed a cognitive improvement of more than 35%, along with enhanced skills in preparing processed food products that ensure quality and promote healthy eating.
