Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of academic self-efficacy on student engagement in the Psychology Undergraduate Program at Surabaya State University. This study used a non-experimental quantitative approach with 174 students from the class of 2022 as subjects. Data collection was conducted online using two Likert scale instruments: the College Academic Self-Efficacy Scale and the Student Engagement Scale. Data analysis using linear regression showed a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.934; p < 0.001. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.872 indicates that academic self-efficacy contributes 87.2% effectively to student engagement. This means that the higher students' confidence in their academic abilities, the higher their engagement in the lecture process. The findings of this study are expected to serve as a basis for educational institutions in designing learning strategies that support increased student academic engagement

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi informasi, khususnya media sosial, meningkatkan paparan remaja terhadap risiko di ruang digital, termasuk kekerasan seksual digital. Tingginya intensitas interaksi daring membuat remaja sebagai pengguna aktif berada pada posisi rentan terhadap berbagai bentuk kekerasan seksual digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan memahami persepsi remaja terhadap kekerasan seksual digital, meliputi pemahaman, makna, bentuk-bentuk yang dikenal, serta faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi persepsi. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi. Partisipan adalah remaja pertengahan berusia 15–18 tahun yang aktif menggunakan media sosial. Teknik analisis data menggunakan Interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh partisipan memandang kekerasan seksual digital sebagai tindakan yang melanggar batas pribadi dan berdampak negatif secara psikologis dan sosial. Remaja mampu mengenali berbagai bentuk kekerasan seksual digital meskipun belum memahami istilah akademik. Persepsi tersebut dipengaruhi oleh lingkungan sosial, pola asuh orang tua, edukasi atau sosialisasi, paparan tidak langsung, serta media sosial sebagai sumber informasi, yang membentuk persepsi remaja melalui proses sosial dan paparan informasi digital. Abstract The rapid development of information technology, particularly social media, has increased adolescents’ exposure to risks in the digital space, including digital sexual violence. The high intensity of online interactions places adolescents, as active social media users, in a vulnerable position to various forms of digital sexual violence. This study aims to understand adolescents’ perceptions of digital sexual violence, including their understanding, perceived meanings, recognized forms, and factors influencing these perceptions. The study employed a qualitative approach using a phenomenological method. Participants were middle adolescents aged 15–18 years who actively use social media. Data were analyzed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). The findings show that all participants perceive digital sexual violence as a violation of personal boundaries with negative psychological and social impacts. Adolescents are able to recognize various forms of digital sexual violence despite limited understanding of academic terminology. These perceptions are influenced by the social environment, parenting styles, education or socialization, indirect exposure, and social media as a source of information, indicating that adolescents’ perceptions are shaped through social processes and exposure to digital information.

Abstract

Komunitas Perlindungan Perempuan dan Anak Nusantara (KOPPATARA) sebagai lembaga advokasi perempuan dan anak di Kabupaten Malang memerlukan program optimalisasi psychological well-being bagi pengurusnya untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan mental dan profesionalitas kerja dalam menghadapi tuntutan serta tantangan emosional di bidang sosial. Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan mengoptimalkan psychological well-being pada pengurus Koppatara. Intervensi dilakukan melalui rangkaian pelatihan terstruktur yang berfokus pada pengenalan konsep kesejahteraan psikologis, refleksi diri, serta keterampilan dasar pengelolaan emosi dan pola pikir adaptif. Evaluasi menggunakan desain pre–post dengan skala psychological well-being. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan yang bermakna terkait dengan psychological well-being. Hasil PKM menunjukkan bahwa pengurus mendapat manfaat dari program dalam hal autonomi, penguasaan lingkungan, pertumbuhan pribadi, hubungan yang positif, tujuan hidup, dan keyakinan diri. Secara praktis, pelatihan ini relevan untuk memperkuat kesiapan psikologis pengurus dalam menjalankan peran advokasi dan layanan, serta layak direplikasi dengan pemantauan jangka panjang dan penyempurnaan materi berbasis kebutuhan organisasi.

Abstract

Time management is an essential self-regulatory skill that supports students’ learning quality and academic performance. However, measurement tools require cultural and linguistic validation before being applied in new contexts. This study adapted the Time Management Scale (TMS) for Indonesian university students and evaluated its construct validity and reliability. A quantitative cross-sectional design was used with 404 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was applied to test factorial validity, and psychometric quality was assessed using composite reliability and average variance extracted (AVE) as indicators of construct reliability and convergent validity. The results provided evidence of an acceptable model fit and satisfactory psychometric performance for the refined measurement model. Through iterative item evaluation, the scale was reduced to a parsimonious 12-item version while maintaining its theoretical structure. In conclusion, the Indonesian-adapted TMS offers initial evidence of validity and reliability for assessing students’ time management in Indonesian higher education settings.

Abstract

Psikologi positif menjelaskan bahwa mahasiswa yang sedang mengerjakan tugas akhir tetap dapat berfungsi secara optimal meskipun berada dalam tekanan akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi flourishing mahasiswa tingkat akhir selama mengerjakan tugas akhir. Konsep flourishing mengacu pada model PERMA dari Martin Seligman. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif fenomenologis dengan analisis Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). Partisipan penelitian terdiri dari lima mahasiswa tingkat akhir dari berbagai fakultas di Surabaya yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam semi terstruktur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat lima faktor utama yang mendukung flourishing mahasiswa, yaitu kemampuan regulasi emosi dan resiliensi, pengaturan ritme dan cara bekerja, strategi coping, dukungan sosial, serta motivasi dan orientasi masa depan. Mahasiswa mampu menjaga kesejahteraan psikologis melalui pemaknaan positif terhadap tekanan, pengelolaan emosi yang adaptif, dukungan dari lingkungan sosial, serta kemampuan mempertahankan motivasi selama proses pengerjaan tugas akhir. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa flourishing mahasiswa merupakan hasil interaksi dinamis antara faktor internal dan eksternal yang membantu mahasiswa bertahan dan berkembang di tengah tekanan akademik. Abstract Positive psychology explains that students working on their final projects can still function optimally despite experiencing academic pressure. This study aimed to explore the factors influencing flourishing among final-year students while completing their final projects. The concept of flourishing referred to Seligman’s PERMA model. This research employed a qualitative phenomenological approach using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). The participants consisted of five final-year students from various faculties in Surabaya selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews. The findings revealed five main factors supporting students’ flourishing, namely emotion regulation and resilience, work rhythm management, coping strategies, social support, and motivation and future orientation. Students were able to maintain psychological well-being through positive meaning-making toward academic pressure, adaptive emotional regulation, supportive social relationships, and the ability to sustain motivation throughout the process of completing their final projects. Overall, the findings indicate that flourishing among final-year students emerges from dynamic interactions between internal and external factors that enable students to survive and grow amid academic demands.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara regulasi emosi dan psychological well-being pada mahasiswa Program Studi S1 Psikologi Universitas Negeri Surabaya. Regulasi emosi merupakan kemampuan individu dalam mengenali, memahami, dan mengelola emosi secara adaptif, sedangkan psychological well-being berkaitan dengan kemampuan individu untuk mencapai keberfungsian psikologis yang optimal, seperti penerimaan diri, hubungan positif dengan orang lain, tujuan hidup, dan pengembangan diri. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Partisipan penelitian berjumlah 173 mahasiswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui penyebaran kuesioner daring menggunakan Skala Regulasi Emosi dan Skala Psychological Well-Being yang telah memenuhi uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment setelah data dinyatakan berdistribusi normal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang kuat dan signifikan antara regulasi emosi dan psychological well-being (r = 0,750; p < 0,001) yang menunjukkan bahwa semakin baik kemampuan regulasi emosi mahasiswa, maka semakin tinggi pula tingkat psychological well-being yang dimiliki. Penelitian ini dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam pengembangan program intervensi psikologis untuk mendukung peningkatan kesejahteraan psikologis mahasiswa. Emotion regulation refers to an individual’s ability to recognize, understand, and manage emotions adaptively, while psychological well-being is related to an individual’s ability to achieve optimal psychological functioning, including self-acceptance, positive relationships with others, purpose in life, and personal growth. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The participants consisted of 173 students selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through online questionnaires using the Emotion Regulation Scale and the Psychological Well-Being Scale, both of which had met validity and reliability criteria. Data analysis was conducted using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test after the data were confirmed to be normally distributed. The results showed a strong and significant positive relationship between emotion regulation and psychological well-being (r = 0.750; p < 0.001), indicating that students with better emotion regulation abilities tended to have higher levels of psychological well-being. This study is expected to contribute to the development of psychological intervention programs aimed at improving students’ psychological well-being.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of perceived social support and emotion regulation on the psychological well-being of teachers in an Islamic boarding school (pesantren) context. The study employed a quantitative cross-sectional design involving 264 permanent teachers from an integrated Islamic boarding school foundation in East Java, Indonesia. Data were collected using three standardized instruments: Ryff’s Scales of Psychological Well-Being (42 items), the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support/MSPSS (12 items), and the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire/ERQ (10 items). Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression after all classical assumptions were met. The results revealed that perceived social support and emotion regulation simultaneously had a positive and significant effect on teachers’ psychological well-being, with an F value of 160.358 and p < 0.001. The coefficient of determination indicated that these two variables explained 64.9% of the variance in psychological well-being (R = 0.806; R² = 0.649). These findings demonstrate that the psychological well-being of pesantren teachers is shaped not only by internal personal resources but also by supportive social environments. Therefore, strengthening social support and providing emotion regulation training are important strategies for promoting teachers’ mental health and sustaining educational quality in pesantren settings.
