Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between the characteristics and motivations of foreign tourists with their decisions in choosing a hotel as a place to stay. The characteristics analyzed include age, gender, income, and cultural origin, while tourist motivations include recreational, business, health, and cultural purposes. This study uses a quantitative method with a survey approach, where data is collected from a number of foreign tourists who stay in various types of hotels. The interaction between tourist characteristics and motivations reveals that these factors do not work separately, but influence each other in the decision-making process. Hotels with relevant facilities and good reputations are more likely to be chosen by foreign tourists, especially if they have positive experiences or receive recommendations from third parties. This study concludes that a deep understanding of tourist characteristics and motivations is key for hotels to develop effective marketing strategies and more personalized services.

Abstract

Background: The tourism industry plays a crucial role in contributing significantly to the economy, particularly through increased tourism activity, increased cash flow, and the potential for increased local income. This study aims to analyze the influence of venue attributes on customer satisfaction at a traditional Balinese dinner (megibung) at The One Legian Hotel. Method: This study was conducted over three months at the research location, One Legian Hotel, which conducted a two-part study. First, a descriptive research approach was used to determine respondents' perceptions of venue attributes. Second, a correlational research approach was used to analyze the influence of venue attributes on guest satisfaction during the Mengibung event. Results: The results showed that guests rated the service as very satisfactory, the decor very beautiful, the price very reasonable, the food very delicious, the ambiance very good, and the facilities very complete. Meanwhile, guests had a high overall satisfaction score of 3.62 (very satisfied). Of the six place attribute variables, there is a significant positive impact (p < 0.05) on satisfaction: price (X3) with 1 price indicator in relation to dinner quality, atmosphere (X5) with 1 place atmosphere indicator, and food (X4) with 2 indicators: appearance and color. Conclusion: High customer satisfaction leads to increased loyalty and repeat visits, ultimately contributing to the growth of the events industry and increased revenue for businesses and the surrounding community. Therefore, events like megibung not only provide a quality tourism experience but also improve the economic well-being of the community through job opportunities and increased income

Abstract

The Tektekan Okokan tradition of Kediri, Tabanan, is a surviving Balinese ritual using sonic instruments—Okokan, Kulkul, and Tengteng—to repel disease outbreaks (grubug) and neutralize negative forces in the village. Historically performed for days or even months following spiritual messages (pawisik) and signs of occult disturbance, today it is mainly held on Pengerupukan, the eve of Nyepi, as a replacement for ogoh-ogoh processions while circling the village. This practice inspires the creation of a contemporary fashion collection. Data on the tradition were obtained through literature study, observation, and documentation. The design process follows the eight‑stage Frangipani method (design brief; research and sourcing; design development; final collection; prototype, sampling, and construction; promotion, branding, and sales; production; and business). The resulting works comprise three categories—ready to wear, ready to wear deluxe, and haute couture—visualizing Tektekan Okokan through selected keywords and plague‑like, enveloping motif details that symbolically depict the village under attack and ritually protected.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the potential and challenges of developing organic farming-based agrotourism in Sambangan Tourism Village, Buleleng, Bali. This village has abundant natural resources, fertile agricultural land, and high local community support for sustainable agricultural practices. The main potential includes the existence of organic commodities such as rice, vegetables, and tropical fruits which can become educational tourist attractions while also supporting the local economy. However, this study also identified a number of challenges, including limited infrastructure, farmers' low knowledge of digital marketing, and the need for synergy between the government, communities, and the private sector. Through SWOT analysis, this study confirms that Sambangan Village is in a strategic position to develop organic agrotourism with a stable growth strategy. The results of this research are expected to be the basis for planning policies and programs for developing sustainable tourism villages.

Abstract

The tourism sector is a fundamental pillar of Indonesia's national economy, contributing crucially to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth and job creation. However, amidst the acceleration of tourist arrivals, a serious threat emerges in the form of ecosystem degradation that could erode the identity of "Wonderful Indonesia." This study aims to analyze the implementation strategy of Green Tourism as a vital instrument in realizing sustainable, environmentally-based tourism in Indonesia. Using descriptive qualitative methods and policy analysis, this study explores the synergy between government regulations, the readiness of environmentally friendly infrastructure, and local community involvement in preserving natural assets. The study results indicate that the transition to green tourism is no longer merely an ethical option but a strategic necessity to maintain Indonesia's global competitiveness in the eyes of international tourists who are now highly aware of sustainability issues. Green tourism strategies have proven effective in mitigating the destructive impacts of mass tourism while creating long-term economic value through biodiversity preservation and strengthening local culture. This study recommends stricter integration of green certification policies at the regional level and the use of digital technology to monitor environmental carrying capacity in priority destinations.

Abstract

The rise of Decentralized Finance (DeFi) represents a transformative shift in the global financial landscape, challenging traditional financial models and offering new possibilities for a more inclusive and efficient financial system. This study aims to explore the opportunities and challenges that DeFi poses to the conventional financial sector, focusing on its impact on banking, credit systems, investments, and payment systems. A mixed-methods approach was employed, including secondary data analysis, expert interviews, and first-hand experience with DeFi protocols such as lending, borrowing, and arbitrage. The findings highlight the significant potential of DeFi in creating alternative financial models that can increase financial inclusion, enhance access to capital, and reduce transaction costs. Recent data indicates that the Total Value Locked (TVL) in DeFi platforms has surged to over $50 billion as of January 2025, reflecting growing adoption. Additionally, daily transaction volumes across major DeFi platforms have reached approximately $10 billion, with active users exceeding 4 million globally. However, the research also identifies critical challenges, including regulatory uncertainty, security vulnerabilities, and the complexity of DeFi platforms, which pose barriers to mainstream adoption. This paper contributes to the understanding of how DeFi can reshape the financial ecosystem, offering insights into its future potential, the risks involved, and the steps required to address the existing challenges. Furthermore, it underscores the need for ongoing research into the regulatory aspects of DeFi and its collaboration with traditional financial institutions.
