Abstract

This study aims to explain the Bugis ethnic considerations in the Legislative Elections of 2014 in Toli-Toli. This studyused qualitative methods (qualitative research) and in-depth interviews (deep interview) to the resource persons whoare considered able to answer related to problems that intended by the author. based on the data captured, it can beconcluded that the instrumentation of local identities such as ethnicity plays an important role in determining thecandidates to be selected. It has become a phenomenon of the present era, but in this study, the author presents dataon the ethnic Bugis ethnic immigrants in Toli-Toli, but the procession of legislative elections, ethnic Bugis is able toshow its existence. On behalf of the social and economic similarities, the election of the candidate of the group into themajor. Human Resources should be the guarantee of someone who was worthy to be their representative in thelegislature become a factor not taken into account by people of ethnic Bugis ethnic krena only see the similarity ofidentity. As for the recommendation of the author that the local government as the supreme authority needs tosocialize through social activities which contains items essential to living together in the frame of unity without distinguishingone another, as well as community leaders of ethnic Bugis as people in by society should regardless ofkeberpihakannya, in that it has always adhered to a single diversity diversity.

Abstract

Terror movements are motivated by psychological, economic, cultural, politics and religious problems. This is a complex problem. But, it becomes more sensitive when religious motivation is involved in it. Nevertheless, terrorism is a human problem that urges all people and the institutions of the state and religions to discover solutions. As in Indonesia, all people are both citizens and members of religions, it is important to realize and get a concrete way against terrorism. What then is the role of religions and the state to overcome the problem of terorrism? How do religions and the state actualize their role against terrorism? Overcoming the problem of terrorism is the first step for developing a peaceful social life. The following step is to promote humanity. However, the state and religions have the same responsibility in educating all people to live universal values such as fraternity, peace, justice, and reciprocal respect and help as way of life.

Abstract

There are different theoretical paradigms within the world of education. Each has its own ideology. In its turn, an ideology determines goal of education and its way of proceedings, curriculum and its educational methodology, quality of the graduates and its alumni. Within a context of sosial and cultural pluratity of the Indonesian society, an inclusive and pluralistic paradigm is recommended. Indeed, such paradigm is in line with the teaching of Islam.

Abstract

This paper discusses the idea of Transformative Islamic Education with Teologi Kalibokong as the illustration. Teologi Kalibokong is used by Moeslim Abdurrahman to describe the disadvantaged situations endured by marginal societies for being exploited by middlemen and capitalists. Nevertheless, those situations cover many aspects including social, economy, education, and politics. From the perspective of Islamic jurisprudence, marginal society becomes a group of people who are less religious. They are presumed as less religious believers. Related to this, Moeslim Abdurrahman introduces the significance of particular theology for the oppressed (al-mustadafin), which is the building of Islamic theology as the spirit of Transformative Islamic Education that generates people who capable of breaking the impasse of social injustice with critical Islamic and non-judgmental approaches.

Abstract

Kuntowijoyo as a historian, Muslim scholar, and author, is undeniable about his abilities. The most phenomenal from Kuntowijoyo's literary work, as a cultural work is his idea on prophetic literature. Prophetic literature is Kuntowijoyo's original work based on three edicts, they are: structural transendental epistemology, humanization and interrelation among awareness ended in liberation. His formulation on the three edicts of prophetic literature that made Kuntowijoyo to be an author, not only an author who created literary and cultural works as culture, but also as worship. All cultural activities are worships, because they are forms of subjecting to the Creator and faith to Allah. In Kuntowijoyo's view, in order to be in advance, Muslim community must leave the myth and ideology world toward the knowledge world, therefore, Islamic knowledge is necessary, not Islamization of knowledge.

Abstract

Pela Gandong which is believed by Ambonese forits propitiational value is in fact failed to preventhorizontal conflict that victimized a big number oflife and financial damages. However, Wayame villageis found to survive from those conflicts, and thecommunity of this village, comprising of Islam andChristian religious group, succeeds to maintain harmoniousrelation. The research aims at, first, describingthe perception of Wayamae village communityto Pela Gandong in the post-conflict period;second, analyzing the cultural competence of pelaGandong in conflict resolution in the era of technology.This research employed qualitative method,involving in-field data gathering based on officialreport, digging out information from the resourcepersons who were directly witnessing the conflict whenit occured and other references obtained throughForum Group Discussion (FGD). An analysis wasperformed to seek answer concerning on how thecommunity of Wayame village viewed Pela Gandongin post-conflict period, how it is – as a local wisdom– maintained in the middle of changing and howPela Gandong was revitalized. Research showed thatPela Gandong was maintained by involving all elementssuch as customary community and the government.Pela Gandong grew as the icon ofAmbonese society in settling conflicts by raisingawareness that they are Eastern people, collectivisticin nature, and place kinship into priority.KEYWORDS : Pela Gandong, Wayane village, Localwisdom, post-conflict.

Abstract

Berbagai Varian gerakan Islam muncul ke permukaan Islam formalis, Islam akomodatif-realis,Islam transformatif-sosial humanis, Islam liberal dan lain-lain. Kemunculannya mengisi ruang gerakan Islam bagi genersai baru dalam melakukan improvisasi nilai-nilai Islam ke dalam bentuk sosial yang ada. Gerakan Islam generasai baru di atas sebenarnya bisa menjadi sebuah gerakan sosial baru jika mampu menterjemahkan problem-problem sosial kemasyarakatan yang riil terjadi di tengah-tengah masyarakat,mampu meng-creat istilah-istilah kunci dalam kitab suci sesuai dengan konteks zamannya ;tidak menjadikan tafsir dan pijakan teoritik sebagai ?berhala? yang tidak bisa dikritik. Kemunculan gerakan Islam generasi baru setidaknya akan memberi pengaruh pada khazanah perubahan sosial,kalau gerakan itu mampu mengorganisir diri secara sistematik.

Abstract

Tulisan ini menjelaskan bahwa Muhammadiyah sebagai organisasi sosial keagamaan, tetap berijtihad untuk menyemaikan gagasan Moderasi Islam di Indonesia. Ijtihad ini memiliki konsekuensi logis Muhammadiyah tidak akan berada pada posisi liberal atau ultra liberal maupun fasisme kiri yang juga ada komunisme di sana. Muhammadiyah mendorong moderasi dalam berislam karena Indonesia memiliki kultur Islam yang tidak sama dengan Islam di Timur Tengah. Islam Indonesia lebih berkarakteristik washatiyah-tengahan, tidak ke kanan atau pun ke kiri. Dalam memperjuangkan gagasan Islam Moderat ini, Muhammadiyah mengembangkan pelbagai aktivitas yang dikenal sebagai amal usaha dalam bidang pendidikan, rumah sakit, panti asuhan dan belakangan pemberdayaan kaum mustadhafin. Gagasan ini, sekalipun tidak serta merta mengatakan Kami Indonesia, Kami Pancasila dan NKRI Harga Mati, buat Muhammadiyah keindonesiaan harus terus dijaga dan tidak boleh dirobohkan oleh kelompok manapun sebab negara ini merupakan negara kesepakatan banyak elemen bangsa yang telah bersusah payah merebutnya dari kolonialisme-penjajahan.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to analyze power relations that forms between Tarekat Qa>diriyah wa Naqshabandiyah Cukir Jombang (Tarekat Cukir) and the regent in Jombang regent election 2018. The research questions are 1) What knowledge underlies Tarekat Cukir's stand in acting political practices? 2) How does knowledge relations form and effect Tarekat Cukir and the regent? 3) How are power and knowledge intertwined between Tarekat Cukir and the regent in the election? This research uses qualitative methodology to explores the case by using Foucauldian power-knowledge relations theory. It results 1) Tarekat Cukir believe that Islam and politic are inseperable, 2) Before being a regent, Kiai Maftuh and Nyono have mursyid-murid relationship. By this relationship, Kiai Maftuh gains knowledge that Nyono is egalitarian, generous, humble, and trustful; and Nyono gains knowledge that Kiai Maftuh has advantages for his political career and spirituality. Rumusan masalahnya 1) pengetahuan apa yang menjadi pijakan Tarekat Cukir dalam menjalankan politik? 2) bagaimana relasi pengetahuan Tarekat Cukir dan Bupati mempengaruhi keduanya, sehingga  terbentuk sebuah relasi?, 3) bagaimana kuasa pengetahuan beroperasi antara Tarekat Cukir dan Bupati dalam Pemilihan Bupati Jombang 2018?. Metode penelitian ini adalah kualitatif, dengan analisa menggunakan teori Kuasa Pengetahuan Foucault. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan 1) Tarekat Cukir meyakini kebenaran bahwa Islam dan politik merupakan dua bagian tak terpisah, 2) sejak sebelum menjadi bupati, Kiai Maftuh dengan Nyono telah terjalin hubungan guru-murid. Dari hubungan itu, Kiai Maftuh memperoleh pengetahuan baru bahwa Nyono itu egaliter, dermawan, sopan dan amanah. Sementara Nyono memperoleh pengetahuan baru bahwa Kiai Maftuh memiliki banyak kelebihan yang dibutuhkan Nyono dalam karir politik dan spiritualnya. Pengetahuan yang diperoleh keduanya mendorong mereka untuk melanjutkan ke level lembaga, sehingga terbentuklah relasi keduanya, 3) pengetahuan keagamaan Kiai Matuh tentang karakteristik pemimpin harus laki-laki muslim, kuat dan amanah, bukan dari wanita, melahirkan pandangan bahwa Nyono memiliki karakteristik tersebut, yang kemudian mendorong Kiai Maftuh mendukung Nyono sebagai kandidat incumbent dalam Pilbup Jombang 2018.
