Abstract

Purpose: This study aimed to examine the effect of ICT-based supervision on employee work discipline and to analyze the moderating role of digital literacy in public sector organizations in coastal areas. Methodology: A quantitative approach was employed using survey data collected from 217 public sector employees. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. Results: The results showed that ICT-based supervision had a positive and significant effect on work discipline. Digital literacy also had a strong and significant influence and emerged as the most dominant factor. However, the moderating effect of digital literacy was not statistically significant. Conclusions: The findings indicated that human capability, particularly digital literacy, played a more critical role than technological systems in shaping employee discipline. Limitations: This study was limited by its cross-sectional design and focus on a specific regional context, which may affect generalizability. Contributions: This study contributed to digital governance literature by highlighting the dominant role of digital literacy and providing empirical evidence from coastal regions.

Abstract

This research is motivated by changes in the post-pandemic work system that have encouraged the implementation of hybrid work in the education sector, requiring organizations to optimally manage intellectual capital while maintaining employee engagement to improve performance. This study aims to analyze the effect of intellectual capital on employee performance, with employee engagement as a mediating variable, in the education industry in North Kalimantan. The research method used a quantitative approach with a survey technique of lecturers and education staff at several universities in North Kalimantan. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results show that intellectual capital has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Employee engagement has also been shown to have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. In addition, employee engagement significantly mediates the relationship between intellectual capital and employee performance. These findings confirm that intellectual capital development will have a stronger impact on performance when supported by a high level of employee engagement. This study concludes that integrating intellectual capital management strategies and increasing employee engagement are key to improving performance in the hybrid work era in the education sector.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of competence on employee performance in village governance in Kabupaten Bulungan, with organizational support and work environment as moderating variables. The research aims to analyze direct and moderating relationships among these variables. A quantitative approach was applied to survey data from 196 Village Consultative Body members, and the data were analyzed using SmartPLS with SEM-PLS. The results show that competence, organizational support, and work environment positively affect performance. Organizational support significantly moderates the relationship negatively, while work environment moderation is not significant. The findings imply that improving village governance performance requires strengthening both individual competence and institutional support systems.

Abstract

Digital transformation in civil servant competency development requires a comprehensive evaluation of the effectiveness of online training, particularly in archipelagic contexts with limited infrastructure. This research analyzes the influence of online training effectiveness on civil servants' competence, with learning motivation as a mediating variable, among 150 Basic Training participants for prospective civil servants in 2025 in North Kalimantan Province. A quantitative approach employing Structural Equation Modeling with the Partial Least Squares technique was used to examine causal relationships among variables. Results demonstrate that the effectiveness of online training significantly influences learning motivation (β=0.832; R²=0.692) and civil servant competence (β=0.186; R²=0.612). Learning motivation functions as a partial mediator, with an indirect effect of 0.516 that exceeds the direct effect. Total influence reaches 0.702, confirming that high-quality online learning systems, when accompanied by effective motivation cultivation, can substantially enhance civil servants' competence. Findings emphasize the need for an integrative approach to Basic Training program design that combines platform pedagogical quality with comprehensive motivational strategies to optimize competency achievement in the era of governmental digitalization.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development of research trends on social media and digital marketing in scientific articles indexed in the Scopus database during 2020–2025. The research uses a descriptive quantitative approach with bibliometric methods to map patterns of scientific publications, researcher collaboration, and the development of research topics in the field. Research data were obtained from the Scopus database using the PRISMA approach, yielding 544 articles that met the inclusion criteria. Data analysis was carried out in RStudio using the Bibliometrix package and the BiblioShiny interface to identify annual publication trends, author productivity, country contributions, citation analysis, and research topic mapping. The results showed that publications on social media marketing increased significantly each year during the study period. In addition, it was found that several countries make a dominant contribution to publications, and that there has been an increase in international collaboration in digital marketing research. Thematic analysis also shows that topics such as social media marketing, consumer engagement, and digital strategy are the main focus in the scientific literature. This research contributes to understanding the direction of development in social media-based digital marketing research. It provides a reference for academics, practitioners, and policymakers to develop more effective digital marketing strategies in the era of digital transformation.
