Abstract

Background: FMCG distributors in emerging markets must adapt their route-to-market (RTM) strategies to market changes; however, this adaptation often compromises operational consistency, which is crucial for maintaining sales performance and outlet loyalty. This creates a dilemma between flexibility and stability that has not yet been fully addressed within the distribution capability framework. Objective: This study investigates RTM capability as a higher-order organizational construct comprising five integrated first-order dimensions and examines how this capability drives organizational performance through marketing execution quality, conditioned by competitive intensity. Methods: This study employed PLS-SEM using data collected from 300 employees of Indonesian FMCG distribution companies. Results: The findings reveal that RTM capability significantly and positively influences marketing execution, which, in turn, significantly enhances organizational performance (p < 0.001). Marketing execution partially mediates the RTM–performance relationship (VAF = 42.2%), while competitive intensity moderates the RTM–execution relationship, amplifying execution returns under conditions of highly competitive rivalry. Conclusion: This study advances the Resource-Based View (RBV) and Dynamic Capabilities Theory by specifying the execution mechanism through which distributor-level capability generates organizational performance and by identifying competitive intensity as a boundary condition governing this mechanism.

Abstract

Grab, as one of the largest on-demand service providers in Southeast Asia, faces challenges in maintaining user loyalty amid intense competition with Gojek and similar platforms. Efforts to retain customers require both service innovation and effective promotional strategies, which play a role in shaping purchase decisions. This study aims to examine the relationship between service innovation and promotional strategies on Grab user retention, with purchase decisions serving as a mediating variable, using the Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) conceptual model. A quantitative approach was applied through a survey of 384 respondents who were active in the past six months, determined using Cochran’s formula with proportional random sampling. Data were collected using a five-point Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed through Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The study’s findings indicate that service innovation and promotional strategies have a positive and significant effect on purchase decisions, which in turn mediate their influence on user retention. These results contribute to the development of digital marketing literature while providing practical recommendations for Grab in designing more effective and sustainable service and promotional strategies.

Abstract

Abstract

Javanese Pop Music holds substantial potential for global recognition; however, its international reach remains limited due to the absence of well-structured glocalization strategies. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of cross-cultural adaptation, digital streaming platforms, international collaboration, and fan community engagement in promoting the globalization of Javanese Pop Music. A quantitative approach was employed through a survey of 100 music industry practitioners, with data analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) across nine variables measured by 39 indicators. The findings reveal that cross-cultural adaptation and the use of music streaming platforms do not exert significant direct effects on the globalization of Javanese Pop Music, but have significant indirect effects through brand image and fan engagement. In contrast, fan communities and international collaboration demonstrate positive and significant direct influences on global reach. The limited moderating roles of market orientation and local government support further indicate that the globalization of Javanese Pop Music is shaped more strongly by relational and participatory mechanisms, particularly brand image development, sustained fan engagement, and cross-national collaboration networks, than by cultural adaptation or digital access alone. Accordingly, this study provides empirical evidence that the globalization of Javanese Pop Music can be strengthened through stronger brand image formation, sustained fan engagement, and adaptive cross-national collaboration within an evolving digital music ecosystem.

Abstract

This study aims to test the hypothesis regarding the variables that form premium pricing for guesthouses in West Denpasar, Bali. The theories applied in this research are service marketing theory, with an in-depth analysis of the Flower of Services and Shostack’s Molecular Model. The study employs Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Data was collected through the distribution of structured questionnaires. The population of this study consists of visitors to Andakasa Residence guesthouse during the 2022-2023 period, totaling 178 individuals. The sample size was 124 respondents, determined through probability sampling using the simple random sampling technique with a 5% margin of error. The results indicate that the indicators Information, Hospitality, Safekeeping, Exceptions, Essential Evidence, Distribution Strategy, Pricing Strategy, and Service Elements contribute to premium pricing. In contrast, Order Taking, Billing, Payment, Consultation, Advertising Strategy, and Product Elements do not form premium pricing for guesthouses in West Denpasar, Bali. It is hoped that these findings can provide insights for guesthouse owners in West Denpasar, particularly Andakasa Residence, to improve their services and establish premium pricing based on the variables examined in this study.
