Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic that has hit since 2019 and is currently one of the effects that is felt by students, especially in Indonesia. Since the pandemic, the education system that used to be face-to-face has now shifted to online. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of learning videos on the level of students' understanding of learning. This study uses a mix method consisting of qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques, namely descriptive analysis. The results showed that students preferred learning that was carried out using interesting learning videos and also students understood more through learning videos. Due to the use of zoom or other media, the majority are constrained by the absence of internet quota. WhatsApp groups are a fairly easy alternative and all teachers can use the WhatsApp group facility. Learning videos are proven to be able to increase students' understanding in learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to determine the effectiveness of learning media that can be used during online learning. The Covid-19 pandemic that has hit all parts of the world has affected various sectors, one of which is in the field of education. The teaching and learning process which was originally carried out face to face, has now turned into online learning at home. Learning media is one of the important components in the learning process in the absorption of material to students. By using a qualitative descriptive method, this paper describes, describes, and analyzes the effectiveness of learning media during the online learning period. The data was obtained from distributing questionnaires through Google Forms which were distributed through WhatsApp Group. The results show that WhatsApp Group is considered quite effective in delivering material during online learning by getting a percentage of 45.5%, virtual meeting applications (Zoom and Google Meet) by 27.3%, and Google Classroom by 27.3%.

Abstract

Children with special education needs (SEN) studying in inclusive classes are still a hot issue to be discussed. This study aims to investigate the attitudes of elementary school teachers towards inclusive education in Indonesia. A total of 64 elementary school teachers participated in filling out SACIE-R questionnaire. The questionnaire consists of three subscales, namely sentiment, concern, and attitude. The data were analyzed using non-parametric statistics (Spearman Correlation coefficient) and multiple regression analysis. The results show that the attitude of elementary school teachers towards inclusive education is positive with a mean SACIE-R (M = 3.00). Elementary school teachers have fears that they do not have knowledge and skills required to teach students with SEN and are not ready to teach students who require communicative technology (e.g. Braille and sign language) in their classrooms. The duration of teaching experience, teaching, and training experience with children with SEN positively correlated to the concern subscale. Special skill training such as Braille and sign language for elementary school teachers is needed to help them overcome their worries and unpreparedness to teach children with SEN in inclusive classes.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the use of patch board learning media in science learning about energy changes for children with intellectual disabilities. The method used in this research is one group pretest-posttest. The subjects in this study were children with intellectual disabilities who attended a special school in Indonesia. Children with intellectual disabilities are students at the senior high school level. After learning to use the patch board media, the test results increased. The average initial score obtained through the initial test was 3.75 and then increased to an average of 8. This was because the use of patch board learning media was interesting and easily understood by children. This is also proven that the use of patch board media in science learning materials on energy change can improve the understanding of children with intellectual disabilities, especially in learning science for energy change materials.

Abstract

Education is the study of a group of people's knowledge, abilities, and habits, which is passed down from generation to generation through teaching, training, or research. The goal of this study is to combine mapping analysis with VOSviewer software to undertake a bibliometric analysis of research in the field of education. To acquire research data, the reference manager application is employed. The information gathered is based on search results for the term "education." From the search results, we found 993 articles that were published between 2017 and 2021. According to the findings, the number of studies in 2017 was 232, grew to 263 in 2018, and then continued to fall from 2019 to 2021. In 2021, there will be 39 education-related research publications published in Google Scholar indexed journals. The fundamental reason is that the Covid-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on educational research, as practically everything is focused on Covid-19. The value of bibliometric analysis in providing analytical data about what happens is demonstrated in this work. This study is meant to assist and serve as a resource for researchers in researching and identifying research themes.

Abstract

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic can be felt in several sectors in Indonesia, especially in the education sector. In the education sector, this is certainly very influential on student learning going online. This online learning activity sometimes students feel more bored and bored so that students find it difficult to understand the material that has been given by the teacher. To be able to overcome such things, it is necessary to make online learning that involves students' creativity. The purpose of this study was to develop the creativity of Purnama Elementary School students in Cimahi City through online learning media during the Covid-19 pandemic. By using a descriptive qualitative approach and research techniques with interviews with the principal and teachers of SD Purnama, it is stated that there are still 3rd-grade students at SD Purnama who are less creative in carrying out assignments and are less enthusiastic in online learning. The results of this study stated that there were still many students who were less creative and lacked enthusiasm in doing assignments and also in this online learning. Because during the KKN there they saw that there was indeed a student who did simple tasks, such as drawing carelessly. This research hopes that online learning activities can increase students' creativity.

Abstract

This study explores and applies multimedia learning strategies in the form of animated videos to overcome counting difficulties for students in class III-A at SDN Kemirimuka 2, Depok, by taking a research subject with the initials TZ. Numeracy difficulties can be a significant obstacle in learning mathematics, especially for students with slow learning characteristics such as TZ. This research aims to present an innovative and engaging solution through the application of multimedia learning media. The research began by specifically identifying the numeracy difficulties faced by TZ and designing a multimedia learning strategy that could adapt to the needs and characteristics of these students. The selection of animated video as learning media was based on its ability to present mathematical concepts in a visual and interesting way, suitable for the cognitive development level of grade III students. The research was conducted at SDN Kemirimuka 2, involving active participation from TZ, as well as monitoring her learning progress. The results showed that the multimedia learning strategy, specific to the use of animated videos, had a positive impact on TZ's understanding of math concepts and learning motivation. These findings can be used as a basis for further development of learning strategies that can be adopted for students with learning disabilities. Practical implications and recommendations for further development are discussed in this journal, making an important contribution to improving the mathematics learning of students with learning difficulties at the primary level.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to investigate isotherm adsorption of carbon microparticles from pineapple peel waste. Carbon microparticles were prepared by carbonizing pineapple peel waste at 215-250°C and grinding using a saw-milling process. To investigate adsorption properties of carbon microparticles, experiments were done by evaluating adsorption of curcumin (as a model of adsorbate) in the ambient temperature and pressure under constant pH condition. To confirm the adsorption characteristics, carbon particles with different sizes (i.e., 100, 125, and 200 ?m) were tested, and the adsorption results were compared with several standard isotherm adsorption models: Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin, and Dubinin- Radushkevich. To support the adsorption analysis, several characterizations (i.e., optical microscope, sieve test, and Fourier transform infrared analysis) were conducted. The adsorption test showed that the adsorption profile is fit to the Freundlich model for all variations, indicating the multilayer adsorption process on heterogeneous surfaces and interactions between adsorbate molecules. The results from other isotherm models also confirmed that the adsorption process occurs physically via Van der Waals force in binding adsorbate on the surface of adsorbent.
