Abstract

Background: The PKK community must be empowered through productive activities, such as urban farming, that will benefit the city as a whole. This programme has been implemented in RT/RW 01/05 Kelurahan Rejosari, Semarang. Method: The methods employed to empower PKK mothers include socialisation, training, mentoring, and monitoring. Results: The programme was initiated with an introductory phase that included socialisation and training, followed by the practical application of agricultural techniques such as plant cultivation in urban farming settings. This was followed by the provision of direct assistance to participants to address any challenges they encountered during the programme. The evaluation method is by monitoring the results of urban farming practices carried out by PKK mothers.The results obtained by PKK women are plant cultivation developed in urban farming practices, namely, chillies, eggplants, cassava, shallots, bitter melon, pandanus, melons, Brazilian spinach, celery, and orange leaves.In addition, the results of the women's plants are also used as a common garden and they apply in their respective homes. Conclusion: The present study investigates the impact of the PKK's empowerment through urban farming on the improvement of family welfare in Rejosari Village. The analysis indicates that the success of the programme is contingent on the active involvement of the community, the provision of support from the local government, and the continuity of mentoring and training.

Abstract

Television reality show programs do not only provide entertainment for the audience, but they are also oriented towards the internalisation of socio-cultural and religious values. Accordingly, many studies of da'wah lately have tried to discuss Islamic values depicted on television programs or other mass media. This article analyses the value of sincerity contained in the reality show Pantang Ngemis on Global television (GTV). A qualitative research methods and content analysis approach of Krippendorf model used in this study. The findings indicate that the internalization of the sincerity values conveyed by this program encompass the value of lillahi ta'ala, the value of high social care, living calmly, being light in doing good, and being grateful for the blessings of Allah Swt.

Abstract

This article discusses religious tolerance in the perspective of interpersonal communication. This research was conducted using descriptive qualitative methods through a phenomenological approach. The results showed that inter-personal communication patterns that occurred between members of the Pelita community in building religious tole-rance based on interpersonal competence, friendship asso-ciations, professional relationships, and websites for inter-personal relationships. While romantic communication pat-terns and family relationships did not appear. This is because Pelita was medium for people meeting from various religious backgrounds who were not tied based on genetic, but com-munication amongst members relying on the social and national based relationship.

Abstract

Abstract: This article is the result of a descriptive qualitative research report in the laboratory of the Da'wah and Communication Faculty, Walisongo State Islamic University (UIN), Semarang. This study has concluded that the design of the Da'wah laboratory at the Da'wah and Communication Faculty of UIN Walisongo Semarang was developed based on the department, which included the Islamic Community Development Laboratory (PMI), the Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Laboratory (KPI), the Da'wah Management Laboratory (MD), the Guidance and Islamic Counseling Laboratory (BPI) In addition, the laboratory development is in line with university Tridharma. The laboratory development phase is carried out through four stages, namely the initiation phase and the construction of a quality management system, the optimization phase of academic support capabilities, the intensification and extensification phase of research services, and the external capacity building phase.

Abstract

The rapid growth of industry often brings an increase in waste containing heavy metals such as Fe, Pb, Zn, Al, and Cu, which are toxic and pose a threat to environmental sustainability. Kali Asem, a tributary of the Bekasi River flowing through Bantargebang, Bekasi City, is one of the affected areas due to the high waste burden from the TPST Bantargebang and TPAS Sumurbatu. Preliminary studies have shown that the river water contains iron (Fe) and manganese (Mn) levels that exceed the quality standards. Adsorption is one of the effective methods to reduce heavy metal concentrations in wastewater. Currently, bio-based adsorbents made from fruit and vegetable waste are gaining popularity due to their eco-friendly nature, affordability, renewability, ease of synthesis, and high efficiency. Banana peels (Musa paradisiaca), in particular, contain cellulose that can be processed into activated carbon for use as an adsorbent. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of activated carbon derived from kepok banana peels in reducing Fe and Mn concentrations in Kali Asem river water. The research uses an experimental method with a focus on measuring Fe and Mn levels before and after treatment.

Abstract

This research explores legendary Jakarta culinary delights reflecting local traditions, global influences, and the city's cultural identity. The study aims to identify and analyse iconic restaurants such as Ragusa Es Italia and Nasi Goreng Kebon Sirih. The methods include semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and document collection to understand culinary delights' experience, history, and social impact. The results identified eight legendary restaurants, each significantly contributing to Jakarta's culinary culture. The culinary experience at these places is not just about the food but also strengthens social interactions between diners, creating connected communities. Analysis shows that the restaurant is a custodian of cultural and historical values, connecting different generations. The conclusion is that the culinary legend not only serves delicious food but also builds the city's identity. Means for preserving culinary heritage include collaboration between government, communities, and entrepreneurs and training programs for the younger generation to maintain traditional cooking techniques. Hopefully, this research will become a reference in developing culinary studies and preserving cultural heritage in Jakarta. Abstract

Pemanfaatan media sosial dalam proses pembelajaran bahasa Arab di Pondok Pesantren Miftahul Ridwan menjadi perhatian utama dalam kegiatan ini. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk membantu para santri memanfaatkan platform digital secara efektif sebagai media belajar, mengingat sebagian besar dari mereka masih belum terbiasa dengan penggunaan teknologi dalam pembelajaran. Sebagai upaya untuk menjawab tantangan tersebut, diselenggarakan seminar penyuluhan yang memperkenalkan metode pembelajaran bahasa Arab yang lebih menarik dan mudah diakses melalui media sosial. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini bersifat kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui dokumentasi selama seminar berlangsung serta observasi terhadap keterlibatan dan tanggapan para santri. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa sekitar 55% peserta mengalami peningkatan dalam penguasaan kosakata dasar bahasa Arab dan menunjukkan antusiasme untuk menerapkannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Sebagai tindak lanjut, dilakukan pemasangan kosakata bahasa Arab di berbagai titik strategis di lingkungan pesantren, seperti pada pagar dengan label “سور” (pagar), sebagai bentuk penguatan memori dan penerapan bahasa dalam konteks nyata. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa integrasi media sosial dalam proses pembelajaran dapat menjadi pendekatan alternatif yang efektif dan kontekstual di lingkungan pesantren.

Abstract

In the novel "Laskar Pelangi (Asakir Qous Quzh)" by Andrea Hirata, it was said that on the island of Belitung Ekal and his nine companions were students in the Muhammadiyah elementary school. Without knowing from this novel, Islamic values were obtained for the readers using semiotics at Ferdinand de Saussure from his structural theory that contains the sign, the signifier, and the signified. This research aims to stand on the forms of semiotics and Islamic values in the novel "Laskar Pelangi (Asakir Qous Quzh)" by Andrea Hirata in the theory of semiotics of Ferdinand de Saussure. This research is a type of qualitative desk research, and the researcher used the method of collecting data in this research using the method of documents. The researcher used the descriptive approach and the analytical graphic approach to analyze the data obtained from the quotations of the novel in this research. The research concludes that the forms of semiotics in the novel Soldiers of the Rainbow are 43 forms of the signifier and the signified in the 43 quotations from the conversations therein. and 24 Islamic values in 43 quotes from 80 conversations. This research has many implications. This will expand our understanding of the linguistic and non-linguistic aspects that authors use to create meaning in literary works, providing insight into how authors use Islamic values as a source of inspiration in constructing narratives and communicating deeper values to readers, and revealing how Islamic values influence the signifiers used by the author. And how to convey Islamic values through the signs in the novel. This research will make an important contribution to understanding the relationship between semiotic analysis and Islamic values and meaning in literary works.

Abstract

Memakmurkan masjid berarti mengelola aspek idarah, imarah, dan riayah sesuai dengan standar Kementerian Agama. Memakmurkan masjid termasuk juga salah satu upaya merealisasikan motto Dewan Masjid Indonesia (DMI) yaitu memakmurkan masjid dan dimakmurkan masjid. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui capaian standar manajemen masjid pada tipologi masjid di Kabupaten Kendal, dan untuk mengetahui upaya mencapai standar manajemen masjid pada tipologi masjid di Kabupaten Kendal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dan dibantu dengan deskriptif kuantitatif, untuk menggambarkan realitas di lapangan berdasarkan hasil wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik induktif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan Capaian standar manajemen masjid dalam tipologinya menunjukkan manajemen Masjid Agung Kendal nilai rata-rata kondisi 77,7 persen dengan kategori Sangat Baik, Masjid Besar Al Muttaqin Kaliwungu nilai rata-rata kondisi 68,8 persen kategori Baik, dan Masjid Jami’ Baitussalam Boja nilai rata-rata kondisi 59,8 persen kategori Baik, dengan demikian semakin tinggi tingkat tipologi masjid maka menunjukkan bukti capaian yang semakin baik. Upaya yang dilakukan ta’mir dalam mencapai standar manajemen masjid yaitu, dengan mengoptimalkan sumber daya yang dimiliki masjid pada bidang idarah, imarah, dan riayah masjid. Mengupayakan standar manajemen masjid juga melalui penyelenggaraan ibadah mahdhoh (pelaksanaan ibadah sholat, dll) dan ghoiru maghdhoh (pembangunan fisik masjid, peningkatan ekonomi jama’ah, pendidikan berupa besiswa, dan kesehatan berupa pengobatan gratis, dll).
