Abstract

Annual and inter-year climate variability in Indonesia is unique in that not all regions are equal, affecting weather patterns and rainfall. Indonesia's climate is influenced by the global exchange of air mass flows across its territory. Climate patterns in Indonesia can be divided into three main climate patterns, namely monsoon patterns, equatorial patterns, and local patterns based on annual rainfall patterns. The advantage of climate distribution based on rainfall patterns is that the coherence of each region is relatively the same only for applied climate control. This is because when climatic conditions change, newly formed precipitation patterns will prevail. This incident has repeatedly occurred in almost all parts of Indonesia. The analysis used is mean, variance and geo-statistics using secondary data sources from BPS and BMKG in the three regions of East Kalimantan. In the Berau region there is a change in the pattern towards the monsoon winds indicating a rain peak or a pattern of the letter U. In other regions such as Penajam Paser Utara and Paser, an equatorial pattern with two rain peaks remains. Rainfall in the Berau region showed an increase and decrease in the Penajam Paser Utara and Paser regions. The Berau, Paser and Penajam Paser Utara regions will experience a trend of 0.44°C in temperature increases over a 14-year period from 2005-2018, or by 0.03°C per year. Regions that show a shift in rainfall patterns to the equatorial type are particularly sensitive to monsoon winds, which experience rainfall spikes and affect cropping patterns.

Abstract

In Indonesia, corn is a plant that has a function as a source of food, a source of feed and the main ingredient for industry. However, it has not been able to meet market demand for corn because it is constrained by several factors such as lowland swamp land which is used as a place of cultivation with all the problems, namely periodically inundated land, low soil fertility, high soil acidity, toxic substances, lack of micro nutrients, organic matter still raw and others. The objectives of the study were: 1) Analyzing the interaction of varieties with spacing on radiation efficiency, growth and yield of sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt.) in lowland swamp land. 2) Analyzing the best varieties and the best spacing for radiation efficiency, growth and yield of sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt.) in lowland swamp land. This research was conducted in Muara Tapus Village, North Hulu Sungai Regency, South Kalimantan Province in May - August 2021 using the Factorial Randomized Design method. The first factor is the sweet corn variety (V) consisting of four levels, namely exotic variety (v1), jamboree variety (v2), talent variety (v3) and ganebo variety (v4). The second factor is sweet corn planting distance (J) consisting of three levels, namely 75 cm x 20 cm (j1), 75 cm x 25 cm (j2) and 75 cm x 30 cm (j3). The results showed that the interaction between varieties and spacing did not affect all observation variables. Varieties affect the observed variables of plant height, number of leaves, leaf area index, plant growth rate and number of rows per ear. Spacing affects the observed variables of plant height, leaf area index and plant growth rate. The best variety is the talent variety (v3) and the best spacing is 75 cm x 20 cm (j1) and the radiation utilization efficiency value is 1.5584 g.MJ-1.

Abstract

Abstract

The amount of rice production in Indonesia every year is always increasing. The results of the rice mill produce waste material, namely husks. Along with the increase in rice production, the amount of rice husk waste has also increased. The purpose of this service is to assist the community in utilizing husk waste to make a useful product. The approach used in implementing the KKN program for the people of Jagapura Kulon Village, Gegesik District, Cirebon Regency, is a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) with five stages of design thinking. The dedication results show that the shoe rack and sandals that will be made use eco-friendly materials that use the waste from rice husks. The culture of reuse, reduce and recycle must also be applied to organic waste to reduce the use of new materials or materials. The manufacture of shoe and sandal racks is also expected to reduce the felling of trees used to make conventional shoe racks made of wood. Through RASENDAL products, we can reduce the use of new materials using unused waste.

Abstract

Abstract Agriculture is an important sector for Indonesia. Because around 30% of the population works in the agricultural industry. Currently, agricultural conditions in Indonesia are facing challenges due to climate anomalies. Unpredictable climate changes, shorter growing seasons, an increase in pests and diseases and these conditions have an impact on increasing production costs while yields are not optimal. Climate change is one of the obstacles in increasing plant productivity. The negative impacts of extreme global climate change include the degradation of land and water resources, damage to agricultural and irrigation infrastructure, the emergence of floods and droughts, and increased attacks by pests and plant diseases. Therefore, farmers need knowledge and farming skills that are adaptive to climate change or what is known as Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA). Climate Smart Agriculture is a useful approach to guide the actions needed to transform and reorient agricultural systems to effectively support development and ensure food security in conditions of climate change. CSA technology focuses on climate resilience and food security with the main objectives being: 1.) Increasing agricultural productivity and income in a sustainable manner, 2.) Adapting and building food security to climate change, 3.) Reducing and minimizing greenhouse gas emissions (Mitigation), 4.) Optimizing the use of various resources. So it is hoped that optimal results will be obtained in the agricultural sector. This research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The researchers use research data in the form of secondary data obtained from a number of credible sources such as scientific articles, books and a number of other sources that are credible and commonly used in research. These data were analyzed using analytical tools with stages of data collection, data selection, data reduction and drawing conclusions.
