Abstract

Rice straw is an agricultural waste into organic waste further. Rice straw can be utilized as an alternative energy that is bioethanol. The objective of this research was to determine the optimal concentration of ethanol by the duration of fermentation. This research applied fermentation to rice straw using yeast bread in various times of 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, and 22 days. The steps of this research were sample preparation, delignification, hydrolysis, and fermentation. Bioethanol from fermented rice straw was analysed using alcoholmeter. The products of fermented ethanol increased and reached the optimum at day 13, which was 4.83+0.05%, then decrease the ethanol content at day 16, 19, and 22.

Abstract

Abstract

This paper problematizes the dynamic of contemporary virtual preacher’s role in Indonesia and its religious border, cultural, social, and political impact. Indeed, the new media and social networks gave the preacher a pivotal social figure, a cultural broker, and an authoritative interpreter of religion. The current phenomenon of the rise of social media in da'wa participation has a significant impact on Indonesia's socio-political life. The production of religious knowledge through virtual preaching activism is in line with discourse battles, contestation of authority, and politics. This phenomenon also has an impact on the internal relations among Muslims and between religious communities as well. Therefore, by using ethnographical social-media analysis, this paper examines some research questions below: (1) what the social media can tell us regarding the shifting from traditional religious knowledge to electronic spiritual understanding? (2) how the new ulama develop authority in the online society era? (3) how the politic of piety deal with democracy?

Abstract

Study of doping process of metal oxide Cr(III) onto bentonite for phenol removal has been done. The purpose of this study was to increase the capacity and effectiveness of bentonite adsorption. The doped bentonite was characterized using XRD, SEM-EDX and FT-IR spectrophotometer analysis. XRD characterization result showed an angle shift (2θ) characteristic at1.609°. The SEM-EDX characterization result showed that bentonite as control have a more gaps than Cr(III)-doped bentonite. Based on EDX result, the Al element decreased from 7.53% to 3.76%, Si from 19.84% to 10.23% and appeared Cr element 2.06%, The FT-IR characterization result showed no significant friction in the spectrum so it can be identified as physical adsorption. The adsorption of phenol was applied at pHpzc, which for bentonite as control was applied at pH 4 and Cr(III)- doped bentonite was applied at pH 8. The phenol adsorption rate fitted to pseudo-second-order and it was found that the equilibrium data was best followed by Freundlich isotherm model, the amount of adsorption rate constant (k) and adsorption capacity (Qe) was 0.0024 g.mg-1min-1 and 16.95 mg/g. The Enthalpy (ΔH) and entropy (ΔS) values decrease with increasing phenol concentration and the positive free energy value was indicated that the proccess was nonspontaneous because there has been an equilibrium state. Based on the adsorption result, it can be concluded that the doping method can produce better bentonite performance to adsorb phenol.

Abstract

This study aims to identify millennial Muslim consumers' perceptions of South Korean halal packaged food products and examine the relationship of each determinant to these food products. The research method used is a quantitative survey with a multiple linear regression data analysis method. The results showed that the primary perception of millennial Muslim consumers' intention to buy South Korean halal packaged food is the halal logo or certification. The factors determining this purchase intention do not fully have a positive and significant effect. Factors that have a positive and significant influence include; halal awareness, halal logo/certification, and product ingredients. While the factors of religious belief and exposure do not positively and significantly influence purchasing intentions. This study recommends that businesses engaged in the South Korean food sector with Muslims as their target customers follow halal principles, such as managing halal certification and including halal labels, raw material information, and processing methods of product/food packaging.
