Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara pemanfaatan video animasi sebagai media pembelajaran dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN 5 Tarogong Kidul tahun ajaran 2024/2025, dengan sampel sebanyak 28 siswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian terdiri atas angket pemanfaatan video animasi dan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Analisis data meliputi uji statistika deskriptif dan inferensial. Berdasarkan hasil uji normalitas, data tidak berdistribusi normal, sehingga uji hipotesis menggunakan Rank-Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara pemanfaatan video animasi dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa (r = 0,441; p = 0,019) dengan kategori sedang. Pemanfaatan video animasi memberikan kontribusi sebesar 19,4% terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara self-confidence (kepercayaan diri) dengan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Masalah utama yang melatarbelakangi penelitian ini adalah adanya persepsi bahwa matematika merupakan pelajaran yang abstrak dan sulit, serta penggunaan strategi pembelajaran konvensional yang berdampak pada rendahnya aspek psikologis dan kemampuan komunikasi siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian korelasional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI di salah satu SMA di Garut, Jawa Barat, dengan sampel sebanyak 21 siswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari angket self-confidence (berdasarkan indikator Lauster) dan tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis (berdasarkan indikator NCTM). Data dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas Shapiro-Wilk dan uji korelasi Pearson melalui aplikasi IBM SPSS Statistics 22. Hasil uji normalitas menunjukkan bahwa data tidak berdistribusi normal (p < 0,05). Kemudian data di uji menggunakan uji Rank-Spearman menunjukkan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,557 dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,009. Karena nilai signifikansi 0,009 < 0,05, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara self-confidence dengan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada materi program linear di kelas tersebut.

Abstract

Kemampuan representasi matematis peserta didik serta sikap mereka terhadap penggunaan media digital dalam pembelajaran matematika masih belum berkembang secara optimal sehingga diperlukan inovasi pembelajaran yang mampu mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis, perubahan sikap peserta didik terhadap media digital, serta hubungan antara kedua variabel tersebut melalui penerapan Liveworksheet pada materi statistika. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes kemampuan representasi matematis dan angket sikap peserta didik terhadap media digital, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji N-Gain, paired sample t-test, uji Wilcoxon signed-rank, dan korelasi Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan representasi matematis meningkat dengan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,53 yang termasuk kategori sedang serta terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara nilai pretes dan postes (p < 0,001). Sikap peserta didik terhadap penggunaan media digital juga mengalami peningkatan signifikan setelah diterapkannya pembelajaran berbantuan Liveworksheet (p < 0,001). Selain itu, ditemukan hubungan antara sikap peserta didik terhadap media digital dan kemampuan representasi matematis dengan koefisien korelasi r = 0,42 yang berada pada kategori sedang. Dengan demikian, penggunaan Liveworksheet terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan representasi matematis sekaligus membangun sikap positif peserta didik terhadap media digital dalam pembelajaran matematika.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the level of students' learning discipline, their mathematical reasoning skills, and how much influence these disciplines have on reasoning skills on spatial building materials. Using a quantitative approach, the research design taken is correlational. All grade VIII students at MTs Maarif Sukakarya, Garut Regency, West Java, were involved as a population in this research. Meanwhile, the sample obtained through the purposive sampling method amounted to 28 students. Data collection was carried out using two main instruments, namely a learning discipline questionnaire and a test instrument to measure mathematical reasoning skills. Once the data is collected, the analysis is completed through descriptive and inferential statistical tests. Based on the results of the normality test, it showed an abnormal distribution of data, so the analysis was continued using the Spearman correlation test. The results showed that the level of students' learning discipline was in the medium category with a percentage of 70.58%, while their mathematical reasoning capacity was classified as very good at 84%. The results of the calculation of the Spearman correlation coefficient recorded a value of 0.400 with a significance level of 0.035, indicating a significant relationship between the two variables. This shows that learning discipline has a positive effect on students' overall mathematical reasoning skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine how the Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) learning model with the help of Baamboozle media affects students' ability to communicate mathematically about the material of sets. The method used was a quasi-experimental study with a quantitative approach, and a non-comparable control group design was used. All eighth-grade students at MTs Darussalam in Garut Regency, West Java, were the subjects of this study. The research sample consisted of two classes, class VIII-B served as the experimental class, and class VIII-A served as the control class. In total, 52 students were selected using a purposive sampling method. A mathematical communication ability test was used as a research instrument and the data were analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistics. The data did not have a normal distribution, according to the results of the normality test, so the Mann-Whitney U test was used. According to the results of the study, the experimental class had an average N-Gain of 0.66 greater than the control class of 0.30, and the significance value of the Mann-Whitney U test was less than 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the two classes. In addition, students achieved 80.77% learning mastery in the experimental class. These results indicate that the Baamboozle-assisted STAD learning model improves students' mathematical communication skills better than direct learning.

Abstract

Mathematics is a discipline that is abstract, logical, systematic, and characterized by strong interconnections between concepts. This abstract nature often causes students to experience difficulty in developing mathematical reasoning abilities as well as building self-directed learning. Therefore, appropriate learning models and media are required to help students actively construct knowledge and visualize mathematical concepts. The Discovery Learning model, supported by instructional technologies such as GeoGebra and Desmos, is capable of facilitating the concept discovery process and dynamically visualizing mathematical objects. This study aims to analyze the differences in the improvement of students' mathematical reasoning abilities and self-directed learning between students who were taught using the GeoGebra -assisted Discovery Learning model and those using Desmos. The research method used was a quasi-experiment with a Nonequivalent Pretest–Posttest Group Design. The study population consisted of 12th-grade students at SMA Negeri 6 Garut. Data analysis techniques included the normalized gain (N-Gain) test and the Mann–Whitney test. The results showed that the mathematical reasoning ability of students receiving GeoGebra -assisted Discovery Learning was better than that of students receiving Desmos-assisted Discovery Learning , with average N-Gain scores of 0,51 and 0,30, respectively, both in the moderate category.
