Abstract

Critical thinking is one of the essential skills students need to navigate the challenges of the 21st century. Critical thinking can be developed through effective learning models and local wisdom approaches that support learning. This research aims to describe the improvement of critical thinking skills and students' responses to a Problem-Based Learning model based on local wisdom. The research used a quasi-experimental design. The subjects targeted are seventh-grade students at a state junior high school in Kediri Regency. The data collection techniques used are Pre-test and Post-test with essay questions containing critical thinking indicators, and the students' responses after the learning process. The research results showed a significant improvement in critical thinking skills in the classroom, using the Problem-Based Learning model based on local wisdom. The students' responses to this model were categorized as good. This study concludes that the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning model, grounded in local wisdom, is effective in enhancing students' critical thinking skills. The contributions of this research were expected to develop an innovative learning model incorporating local wisdom in science education, aiming to achieve the goal of developing critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills (CTS) are important skills in the 21st century and are part of the school curriculum in Indonesia. However, validation of CTS instruments often relies only on content validation, while psychometric validation such as the Rasch model is rarely used. This study aims to validate a critical thinking test using the Rasch model to assess data suitability, measure the CTS of junior high school students in Surabaya, and identify item bias based on gender and school ranking. Data were obtained from 143 junior high school students with 10 multiple-choice questions. The results of the analysis showed that female students tend to have higher CTS than male students, while students from high-ranking schools showed a better distribution of abilities compared to moderate and low-ranking schools. Differential item functioning (DIF) analysis identified one item (EC2) that showed gender bias, and seven items (EC1, EC2, BS1, I1, I2, AC1, ST2) showed DIF based on school ranking. These findings suggest that although this test is generally fair for measuring CTS, there are inequities that need to be addressed to ensure the test is more inclusive and fair for all groups of students. The researcher hopes that this study contributes as a case of reference for future research in assessing CTS in junior high school students

Abstract

Abstrak Kemampuan literasi matematis adalah kemampuan menerapkan konsep matematika dalam berbagai konteks, melakukan penalaran secara matematis dan menggunakan konsep, prosedur, serta fakta untuk menggambarkan, atau menjelaskan suatu kejadian. Seseorang jika mampu bernalar dan menganalisis melalui pengetahuan dan keterampilan matematikanya dalam penyelesaian masalah matematika maka ia memiliki kemampaun literasi yang baik. Diperlukan bahan ajar yang tepat untuk melibatkan kemampuan literasi seseorang. Bahan ajar yang melibatkan keterampilan metakognisi agar melibatkan kesadaran dalam memikirkan tentang proses berpikir. Tujuan penelitian adalah (1) mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi; (2) mendeskripsikan bahan ajar yang melibatkat keterampilan metakognisi; (3) mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan literasi matematis mahasiswa melalui bahan ajar berbasis keterampilan metakognisi. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa STKIP Persada Khatulistiwa pada Prodi PGSD semester IV kelas B8 yang berjumlah 26  orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode tes dan observasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji gain dan uji korelasi. Diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa (1) terdapat peningkatan kemampuan literasi matematis mahasiswa setelah diterapkannya pembelajaran dengan bahan ajar berbasis keterampilan metakognisi; (2) diperoleh kontribusi yang sedang antara bahan ajar berbasis keterampilan metakognisi dalam peningkatan kemampuan literasi matematis mahasiswa. Kata Kunci: bahan ajar berbasis keterampilan metakognisi, kemampuan literasi matematis, mahasiswa

Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah kurangnya kemampuan berfikir kritis siswa pada materi FPB dan KPK siswakelas VI SD Negeri 14 Empaci. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi FPB dan KPK denganpenerapanpendekatankontektual di kelas VI SD Negeri 14 Empaci.Metodepenelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan bentuk penelitian tindakan kelas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar berdasarkan kriteria kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa mengalami peningkatan. Kemamuan berfikir Kritis siklus I dengan rata-rata 71 dan persentase ketuntasan klasikal mencapai 57,14%. Kemampuan berfikir kritis siklus II dengan rata-rata 87,62 dan ketuntasan klasikal mencapai 90,48%. Disimpulkan penerapan pendekatan kontekstual dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi FPB dan KPK di kelas VI SD Negeri 14 Empaci Tahun Pelajaran 2018/2019. Disimpulkan penerapan pendekatan kontekstual dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi FPB dan KPK di kelas VI SD Negeri 14 Empaci Tahun Pelajaran 2018/2019. Kata Kunci: Pendekatan Kontekstual, Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis, Matematika

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada materi bilangan pecahan menggunakan metode demonstrasi pada siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 11 Nanga Lemetak. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan bentuk penelitian yaitu penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari dua siklus dan melalui empat tahap yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SDN 11 Nanga Lemetak dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 21 orang. Alat pengumpul data yaitu lembar observasi, soal tes, wawancara dan dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: (1) Aktivitas belajar siswa siklus I dengan persentase 66,19% meningkat 11,42% menjadi 77,61% (kategori sangat baik) di siklus II; (2) ketuntasan klasikal hasil belajar siswa meningkat sebesar 19,05% dari siklus I sebesar 71,42% (kategori baik)  menjadi 90.47% (kategori sangat baik)pada siklus II; serta (3) respon belajar siswa terhadap penerapan metode demonstrasi sangat baik, siswa lebih tertarik dan fokus mengikuti proses pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil tes dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode demonstrasi pada mata pelajaran matematika khususnya materi bilangan pecahan kelas IV SDN 11 Nanga Lemetak dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi bilangan pecahan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh motivasi belajar dan komunikasi dalam matematika yang masih rendah, sehingga banyak cara yang dilakukan oleh guru atau peneliti salah satunya dengan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning (PBL). Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui peningkatan motivasi belajar dan komunikasi matematika dengan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning (PBL). Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian Meta-analisis, pelaksanaan dilakukan dengan menelusuri dan mengganalisis artikel hasil penelitian sebelumnya dengan kata kunci yang sama. Data penelitian diperoleh dari sumber artikel yang ada pada jurnal. Teknik dan alat pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik observasi dan dokumetasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar dari peningkatan yang terkecil 7,19% sampai yang tertinggi sebesar 19,67% dengan rata-rata 0,35 berada pada kategori sedang dan Problem Based Learning (PBL) dapat meningkatkan komunikasi matematika dari peningkatan yang terkecil 1,24% sampai yang tertinggi 31,8% dengan rata-rata peningkatan 0,32 yang berada pada klarisifikasi kategori sedang. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dapat meninggkatkan motivasi belajar dan komunikasi matematika pada jenjang sekolah dasar.

Abstract

As stated in Article 36 of Law No. 1 of 1974 respecting joint marriage, any spouse may operate on joint property with a permission. Investigating Supreme Court decision number 3180 K/PDT/2019—which deals with the sale and purchase of undivided joint property in the presence of the temporary land deed officer (PPAT)—and its legal implications is the goal of this research. This study uses conceptual, case, and legislative methods, and it is normative in character. Primary and secondary sources of law are consulted. Legal material analysis is an approach that uses a procedure that is prescriptive. In accordance with the results of the investigation, it is illegal for the PPAT to have issued a deed of sale and purchase and for M.Uzer and Deslina to have sold shares without Herlina's knowledge or approval. Given that the property being sold is still jointly owned, the sale and purchase are declared unlawful according to MA RI No. 701K/PDT/1997. As a consequence, the deed of sale and purchase is legally flawed, and the Certificate of Property Rights in Deslina's name is no longer enforceable.

Abstract

Higher-order thinking skills are essential for students in the twenty-first century, with critical thinking being one of the most important. Despite its significance, Indonesian students' critical thinking skills often fall short of international standards. This may be attributed to science education that frequently overlooks socio-cultural environments. By integrating guided inquiry learning models with local wisdom, specifically tapai jringkeng, this study aims to examine the improvement of critical thinking skills in the 9-B class at SMPN 1 Kotaanyar. The research utilized a one-group pretest-posttest design involving 23 students. Data were gathered using an essay-based test consisting of five questions and analyzed with the N-gain formula. The findings revealed an N-gain score of 0.77, categorized as a high level, indicating a significant improvement in students' critical thinking skills. The study suggests that incorporating local wisdom into inquiry-based learning can enhance cognitive engagement and foster a deeper understanding of the context. Additionally, this research contributes to science education by offering a culturally responsive teaching model that fosters critical thinking through the inclusion of local wisdom.

Abstract

Science literacy among students is fundamental to the development of the competencies and qualities needed in the 21st century. Therefore, teachers play an important role in helping students improve these skills through appropriate learning strategies. This study aims to describe students' science literacy integrated with Ethno-STEM, where the ethnoscience introduced is Sidoarjo's signature shrimp paste, using a pre-experimental design in a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of 31 ninth-grade students from class IX-B at one of Sidoarjo's public junior high schools. The instruments used were pretest and posttest sheets. Data collection techniques were conducted through tests, while data analysis techniques involved paired t-tests and N-Gain analysis. The t-test results showed a significant difference in the average science literacy scores before and after the implementation of the Etno-STEM-based Discovery Learning model. Additionally, the N-Gain analysis yielded a value of 0.8, which falls into the high category. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of the discovery learning model based on Etno-STEM in science education on biotechnology is effective in improving students' science literacy

Abstract

Implementation of the Independent Curriculum requires teachers to innovate and develop themselves through various independent teacher training and programs. The results can be shared by teachers through various platforms such as the Merdeka Mengajar Platform (PMM). However, various jobs in this era of rapid technological development are required to be completed quickly, teachers even must do multitasking work in order to carry out their professional duties optimally. As a result, teachers experience obstacles in producing scientific writing. This article has benefits 1) as a means of exchanging information and 2) as a tool to help document academic work. Through this activity, partners hope to increase their ability to produce good scientific writing so that they can contribute to knowledge for other teachers. Apart from that, scientific writing can also be used as an additional prerequisite for career advancement. This PKM activity provides solutions related to priority problems for partners. This PKM will train science teachers to write writing with design ideas assisted by artificial intelligence applications. The data sources used are data that can be obtained by teachers during class lessons or when teachers carry out assessments. From the implementation of PKM that has been carried out, science teachers have high enthusiasm when interacting with AI Chatbot-based applications such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Perplexity, and Connectedpapers. Teachers can draft scientific writing with the aim of exploring and describing their scientific writing ideas in written form. Participants gave positive responses regarding the implementation of PKM in Blitar City, namely 85% gave very good responses and the remaining 15% gave good responses.
