Abstract

ABSTRACT The increasing rate of population growth in the 21st century era has become a separate problem for countries in the world. Indonesia is the fourth most populous country in the world, China, India and the United States. The high rate of population growth that is not accompanied by an increase in the quality of the population, the Indonesian government makes efforts to handle and control population growth by implementing the Family Planning program to improve the welfare of mothers and children and create happy and prosperous small families. The purpose of this study was to determine how the fertile couple's decision not to participate in the family planning program at the Kapan Health Center. This type of research is a qualitative research with an exploratory design. The selection of informants used purposive sampling, collecting ten people, namely PUS mothers who were recorded as not actively using family planning, married, >35 years old and had >3 children. Collecting data by means of in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Data were analyzed and presented in the form of narrative text. The results showed that husband/family support influenced the mother's decision not to use family planning, health/family planning officers provided information about family planning through direct counseling and mass media, most of the informants chose not to participate in family planning because of the perceived side effects and the use of natural family planning. The results of the writing can be obtained with the key that EFA's decision not to participate in the family planning program is motivated by the support of the husband/family and the mother feels that it is not suitable for the family planning used and the natural use of family planning. Therefore, it is hoped that the role of the public health center can involve the role of the husband in providing information about the importance of the family planning program for families so as to increase the participation of EFA in the family planning program.

Abstract

Unwanted pregnancy in adolescents is related to reproductive health behavior, including knowledge, attitudes, and actions. Knowledge will produce positive or negative attitudes, and from these attitudes, individuals will apply them in the form of actions, including sexual behavior. This study described adolescent knowledge and attitudes about unwanted pregnancy. The research method used in this study was descriptive with a quantitative approach. The study was conducted at SMA Negeri 8 in March-April 2021. Teenage girls in grades X and XI of SMAN 8 Kupang were used in this study totaling 323 people. The sample used was 179 people taken by a simple random sampling technique and the Slovin formula. Data was collected using an online questionnaire. The results showed that most respondents had good knowledge about unwanted pregnancy and had a positive attitude towards unwanted pregnancy. Schools should be more selective in receiving and providing information on sexual behavior before marriage and unhealthy dating relationships for students. At the same time, the Kupang City Education Department suggested launching a new policy related to reproductive health education for adolescents. Abstract

Stunting is still an important health problem to pay attention to. At the Watukawula Puskesmas, the number of stunting toddlers in 2019 was 25,4%, if not addressed, it could have an impact on the growth and development of toddlers. This study aims to determine the factors associated with the incidence of stunting in the working area of ​​ Watukawula Puskesmas. The type of research used is a case-control study design. The sample consisted of 130 children under five consisting of 65 case samples and 65 control samples. The sampling of cases and control samples used a simple random sampling technique. The data analysis used was univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analysis using the chi-square test with a significance level of =0.05. The results showed that knowledge of maternal nutrition (p=0.000), exclusive breastfeeding (p=0.004), history of infectious disease (p=0.001), energy adequacy level (p=0.000), and protein adequacy level (p=0.000) were associated with stunting incidents. Therefore, it is recommended for mothers of toddlers to be able to provide nutritionally balanced food and sufficient energy and protein for their children to achieve optimal child development. Abstract

Low back pain is a health problem often experienced by stone-cutting workers. This study aims to analyze the factors associated with low back pain complaints in stone-cutting workers. This research was an analytic observation with a cross-sectional design. The research was conducted in Pero Village, Southwest Sumba District, in February-March 2020. The population consisted of 46 stone-cutting workers in Pero Village. The sample was taken using a total sampling technique. The statistical test used was the chi-square test with α=0.05. The results showed complaints of low back pain were related to work attitude (p=0.042), age (p=0.000), years of work (p=0.000), and length of work (p=0.031), while stretching did not associate with lower back pain (p=0.947). Stone cutting workers are recommended to have correct work posture (ergonomics) and to take time to rest, thereby minimizing the risk of LBP, especially for workers aged >30 years.

Abstract

Pelaksanaan program tuberkulosis paru telah berjalan dengan baik namun masih terdapat peningkatan penemuan kasus dari 48 pada 2020 menjadi 149 di tahun 2021. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui implementasi program tuberkulosis paru di Puskesmas Sasi. Penelitian dengan pendekatan kualitatif, jenis penelitian studi kasus, bersifat deskriptif. Informan dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Input, ketersediaan tenaga kesehatan untuk TB Paru hanya satu orang, terdapat beban kerja rangkap untuk petugas. Dana program TB Paru berasal dari BOK, DAK dan bantuan non pemerintah (Global Fund), terdapat dua sumber dana pada program yang sama yaitu pemantauan kontak serumah, penjaringan TB dan sarana prasarana memiliki kualitas baik. Proses, meliputi persiapan, analisis situasi, perumusan masalah, dan penyusunan rencana usulan kegiatan telah berjalan dengan baik namun pada penyusunan rencana pelaksanaan kegiatan belum efektif karena masih terdapat pendoubelan dana pada program yang sama. Output, capaian penemuan kasus TB Paru di Puskesmas Sasi mencapai 15%, keberhasilan pengobatan TB Paru 14,8% dan capaian pengobatan lengkap 39,5% yang masih jauh dari target nasional. Disarankan untuk Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten TTU perlu melakukan pengawasan terhadap anggaran puskesmas dalam pelaksanaan program TB Paru.

Abstract

Stunting toddlers have a risk of decreased intellectual ability, productivity, and an increase in degenerative diseases in the future. The results of the 2018 Riskesdas show that East Nusa Tenggara Province is the province with the highest proportion of of short and very short nutritional status of children under five, which is 42.4%. The purpose of the study was to analyze the risk factors for stunting in children under five in the working area of the Batakte Health Center. The research design was a case-control study. The research subjects were toddlers aged with the case group being stunted toddlers while the control sample was normal toddlers with a ratio of 1:1 as many as 48 toddlers and mothers of toddlers as respondents. Data analysis used the chi-square test and OR calculation to assess risk factors. The research was conducted in the working area of the Batakte Health Center from August-October 2021. Research variabels are history of infectious disease, low birth weight, maternal education, parenting style,maternal occupation age at pregnancy and gestational age. The results showed that there was a relationship between a history of infectious disease (OR=5,000; 95% CI 1,165-21,459), low birth weight (LBW) (OR=5,909; 95% CI 1,546-22.580), maternal education (OR=4,491; 95% CI 1,260-16,006) and parenting style (OR= 6,000; 95% CI 1,711-21,038) with stunting in children under five, while maternal occupation, age at pregnancy and gestational age were not associated with stunting in children under five in the region Batakte Health Center

Abstract

Diarrhea is a health problem throughout the world. Diarrhea is an infectious disease that causes infant mortality. Data on diarrhea cases in Noelbaki Village, Central Kupang District, Kupang Regency, in 2017 found 42 cases; in 2018, 53 cases; and in 2019, 57. This research intends to determine the Intrinsic and Extrinsic Factors in the Incidence of Diarrhea in Toddlers in Noelbaki Village, Kupang Regency. This type of research is quantitative through an observational approach using a cross-sectional design. The population in this study amounted to 210 people, and the sample used was 67 people. Data were analyzed using chi-square with the level of interpretation = 0.05. The research concludes that exclusive breastfeeding (0.017) and hand washing with soap (0.000) have a relationship with diarrhea in toddlers. In contrast, nutritional status (0.234) has no connection with diarrhea in toddlers. Health workers should improve services and counseling about exclusive breastfeeding and washing hands with soap so that people always care and remember the importance of health for their children.

Abstract

Anemia berdampak pada ibu hamil dan bayi, seperti meningkatkan risiko perdarahan saat melahirkan, meningkatkan angka bayi lahir dengan berat badan rendah (BBLR), kecacatan bahkan kematian bayi. Pada tahun 2020, ada 206 ibu hamil (82,3%) yang mengalami anemia dan berdampak pada kejadian BBLR di Puskesmas Kaubele. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan kejadian anemia pada ibu hamil di Puskesmas Kaubele Kecamatan Biboki Moenleu Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survei analitik dengan metode Cross Sectional Study. Populasi adalah seluruh ibu hamil trimester II dan III yang tercatat di buku register KIA dan Gizi di Puskesmas Kaubele tahun 2021, sebanyak 105 orang. Sampel sebanyak 50 orang dengan menggunakan metode simple random sampling. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah kuesioner dan pemeriksaan Hb. Teknik analisis dalam penelitian adalah analisis uji chi square. Hasil analisis menunjukkan ada hubungan antara kunjungan ANC (p=0,000), pola konsumsi (p=0,018), kepatuhan mengkonsumsi tablet Fe (p=0.000), dengan kejadian anemia. Sedangkan penyakit infeksi tidak berhubungan dengan kejadian anemia (p=0,651). Saran kepada petugas kesehatan agar meningkatkan komunikasi dan penyuluhan kepada ibu hamil tentang pola konsumsi zat besi yang baik, melakukan pemantauan konsumsi tablet Fe pada ibu hamil serta melakukan pemantauan kunjungan ANC agar dilakukan upaya pencegahan anemia.

Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a decrease in basic immunization visits during the pre-pandemic and post-pandemic periods. IDL coverage decreased from 68,9% in 2019 to 60,8% in 2021, while HB-0 basic immunization visits decreased from 39,7% to 10,4%.Immunizations must still be carried out even during the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of the research is to describe mother's perception of basic immunization visits during the COVID-19 pandemic in the working area of Naioni Health Center, Kupang City. Type of this research is descriptive quantitative with a Cross Sectional research design. The population of this research are the mothers who had babies aged 0-11 months and live in the working area of the Naioni Health Center in December 2021 with totals 267 people. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling with a sample size of 73 people. Data analysis used univariate analysis. The results showed that mothers with a high perceived suspectibility is more visit (87,0%), mothers with a high perceived severity is more visit (65,2%), mothers with a high perceived benefits is more visit (78,3%), mothers with a high perceived barriers is more visit (87,0%), mothers with a high self-efficacy is more visit (95,7%) and mothers with a high cues to action is more visit (52,2%) during the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, Health Center plays a role to increase mothers perception and basic immunization visits according to the type and time of administration.

Abstract

The transition period from childhood to adulthood marked by accelerated physical, mental, emotional, and social development in a dynamic phase of growth and development in life is the understanding of adolescence. Adolescence is the age of puberty, so it is related to reproductive health. Health problems due to insufficient knowledge about personal hygiene in the reproductive organs are reproductive health problems, such as cervical cancer, vaginal discharge, genital skin irritation, allergies, and urinary tract infections. This study aims to describe personal hygiene in adolescents at the At-Tin Orphanage, Kupang City, in 2021. This type of research is quantitative, using a descriptive method. The population in this study amounted to respondents using total sampling. Analysis of the data used in this study is descriptive statistics. Data was collected using observation sheets and questionnaire sheets. The results showed that adolescents' knowledge about personal hygiene was good (62.2%), adolescent attitudes about personal hygiene were negative (86.7%), adolescent behavior about personal hygiene was good (73.3%), and facilities and infrastructure regarding personal hygiene were available (100%). The caretakers at the At-Tin orphanage need to carry out routine supervision to check or supervise the cleanliness of the rooms and personal hygiene of respondents so that young women can maintain the cleanliness of their rooms and themselves properly to avoid various diseases.
