Abstract

This research was conducted at the experimental farm of the Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau started in April to June 2015. This study aims to look at the provision of bio-slurry, nitrogen fertilizer and interactionbetween the provision of bio-slurryandnitrogenfertilizerandto get thebestcombinationforgrowth and crop productionof pakchoy. Field experiment using a completely randomized factorial design, where 0, 2, 4, 6 liters/m2 of bio-slurry as the first factor and 0, 15, 25 g/m2of nitrogen fertilizer as the second factor. This study uses 12 combinations, 3 replications and 4 plant samples. Parameters measured were plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, weight of plants per plot, weight inveterate consumable plants and plant dry weight. Data results are then tested further variance with Duncan multiple test at 5%level. The results showed that the interaction of bio-slurry and nitrogen fertilizer treatment increased the plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, weight of plants per plot, plant fresh weight and dry weight consumable crops. Pakchoy production is highest in the treatment of 2 liters/m2 of bio-slurry and 15 grams/m2 ofnitrogen fertilizer. Keywords: bio-slurry, nitrogen fertilizer,pakchoy

Abstract

The research aimed to get the interaction of organic manure and NPK fertilizer and determine the best treatment on growth and yield of shallot. The were research has been conducted on Randomized Completely Design Factorial. The first factor was the organic manure consist of without organic fertilizer (P0), chicken manure (P1), compost of empty fruit bunches oil palm (P2), vermicompost (P3) and rice straw compost (P4). The second factor was NPK fertilizer consist of three levels were without NPK fertilizer (N0), 10 g/m2 of NPK fertilizer (N1), and 20 g/m2 of NPK fertilizer (N2). Data analysed statistically with ANOVA and further tested using by Duncan`s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) of 5%. The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, convolution of tuber, number of tubers per clumps, fresh weight of tubers per m2 and proper saving of tubers per m2. The results showed the application of organic manure and NPK fertilizer significantly affected on the plant height, number of leaves, convolution of tuber, number of tubers per clumps, fresh weight of tubers per m2 and weight of tubers shelf per m2.  Application of rice straw compost and 20 g/m2 of NPK fertilizer delivered the best growth and yield of shallot. Keywords: shallot, NPK fertilizer, chicken manure, vermicompost and rice straw compost

Abstract

This study aims to inventory, to determined the composition and weed species dominancy of and to determined seedbank germination in various depth of soil in oil palm plantation. This research was conducted at Kebun Sei Galuh PT. Perkebunan Nusantara V, Kampar, Riau. This research was conducted for 3 months, starting from October 2016 until December 2016. This research used observation method. The sampling technique was done by a purposive sampling system with the criteria of land area and the age of the oil palm plant while the dominant weed species was done by vegetation analysis with quadratic methodical. The parameters observed were density (K), Relative Density (KR), Frequency (F), Relative Frequency (FR), and Importance Value Index (INP). The seedbank analysis was done by observing the growing weeds, then identified the species and counted the amount as the number of seedbank in the soil depth of 0 – 10 cm, 10 – 20 cm and 20 – 30 cm. The data that have been obtained are presented in the form of drawings, tabulated based on data groups and analyzed descriptively quantitatively, and presented descriptively qualitatively. Indicator under study in this research is planting year and weed type. The results showed that the diversity of weeds found in the crop produces palm oil consisting of 18 families and 38 species relatively the same and dominated by the family Poaceae and Cyperaceae. Dianella ensifolia, Asystasia intrusa, Eleusine indica is an important and a very dominant weed in all planted areas producing oil palm. Seedbank weeds at a depth of 0 – 10 cm has the largest number of propagules in the appeal at depths of 10 – 20 cm and 20 to 30 cm. Keywords: Inventory of weeds, Seedbank, Oil palm.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Caisim is one of the many leafy vegetables marketed, in addition to foodstuffs can also be used for the treatment of various diseases, among others, to cure headaches, blindness disease, blood purifier, improves digestion and mempelancar, fever, sore throat, anti- cancer. Research objective was to repair work function studies to determine the effect of organic fertilizer for best growth and production caisim (Brassica rava cv). This research has been conducted in UPT (Technical Implementation Unit) experimental farm of Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau, Pekanbaru. This study was conducted over three months , starting from October to December 2011. Experiment was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments. Each treatment was repeated 5 times to obtain 25 experimental units . The treatment in this study was a control without fertilizer (P0), compost fertilizer TKKS 30 tonnes/ha (P1), chicken manure 20 tonnes/ha (P2), bokashi rice straw 5 tonnes/ha (P3) and fertilizer mashitam 0.5 tonnes/ha (P4). Data were obtained and analyzed statistically using analysis of varience (ANOVA). and followed by Dunnet test at the 5% level . The parameters measured were plant height (cm), root length (cm), leaf area (cm2), plant fresh weight (kg/plot) and the fresh weight of plants consumed (kg /plot). The results showed that chicken manure 20 tonnes /ha and composted oil palm empty fruit bunche (TKKS) 30 tonnes/ha gave the best results on the growth and yield of caisim. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of giving trichokompos waste water hyacinth and to get the best dose on the growth and production of pakcoy. This study was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design. The treatment in this research is dosage of trichokompos waste water hyacinth which consist of 5 levels were : 0 kg.ha-1(T0),1,5 kg.ha-1(T1), 2 kg.ha-1(T2),2,5 kg.ha-1(T3), and 3 kg.ha-1(T4). The observed data were analyzed statistically using analyzed of varian and tasted further by DUNCAN’S new multiple range test of 5%. The result of this research indicate that giving of trichokompos waste water hyacinth can increase the growth and production of pakcoy. The giving of trichokompos waste water hyacinth dose 3 kg per plot produces pakcoy’s best growth and production.Keywords: pakcoy, Trichokompos, waste eceng gondok

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research aims to determine the response of three palm oil varieties (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) in the main nursery on giving of several volumes of water. This research was conducted with factorial experimental methods arranged according to a CompletelyRandomized Design (CRD), this research consisted of 2 factors, namely: Factor I = Palm oil Varieties, V1: Tenera Marihat Varieties originating from PPKS, V2: Tenera Topaz 3 varieties from AA Topaz , V3: Tenera Lame variety from Socfindo, Factor II = Water supply, A1: 1000 ml per day per seed, A2: 1500 ml per day per seed, A3: 2000 ml per day per seed, A4: 2500 ml per day per seed . The research consisted of 12 treatment combinations and each treatment combination was repeated 3 replications so that 36 experimental units were obtained, each experimental unit had 3 plants to obtain 108 seeds. The results showed that: the interaction of giving several volumes of water and varieties had an effect on the humps of palm seeds, the Marihat variety showed a good response to the growth ofpalm seeds compared to the other two varieties (topaz and socfindo), giving 2500 ml per day per seed showed the good growth for all three varieties, while giving of 1000-1500 ml per day per seed of water per seed showed depressed growth in topas and socfindo varieties.Keywords: oil palm varieties, Main nursery, volumes of water

Abstract

This research aimed to know the response of Duku explants toward the giving of auxin (2,4-D) and cytokinin (BA) for callus growth. This research was conducted in plants biotechnology laboratory at University of Riau, from January until May 2014. The experimental design used was randomized block design (RBD) which is consisted by 2 factors. First factor is the giving of 2,4-D concentration consisting by 3 levels, they are: A1 = 1 mg 2,4-D/l, A2 = 1.5 mg 2,4-D/l and A3 = 2 mg 2,4-D/l. Second factor is the giving of BA concentration consisting by 3 levels, they are: B1 = 0 mg BA/l, B2 = 0.5 mg BA/l and B3 = 1 mg BA/l. This research observed visually and represented by image. Results of this research showed the duku explant that inoculated with 1-2 mg/l of auxin (2,4-D) concentration and cytokinin (BA) 0-1 mg/l or by giving of the both combinations still not make the callus growth, because half of the explant turning brown and finally die.   Keyword: duku, 2,4-D, BA, in vitro, brown

Abstract

Soybean has the high social economic velue and its part more strategic in the human life. The request of the seed and the production of soybean to be increasing along with the growth of society and the concumption per capita and also the increasing of the food nutrition of society condition. One of the effort to increase the productivity of soybean plant can using the manures. By giving Janjang dust of oil palm as the manure can increase the calium stock in the ground/land and then it can increase the calium absorbtion by plant. The act of cultivation/agriculture rubbish like the Janjang dust of the oil plam as manure can increase the production cost and also the plant management goodly and its cost is cheaper than KCl manure or the others calium manures. The purpose of this research to know the effect of the giving of Janjang dust of oil palm and to determine the good dose toward the growth and the production of the soybean plant. This research is done in the technician unit experiment of cultivation/agriculture faculty of Riau University. This research is started from November 2009 until February 2010. This research is done by using the complete random design (RAL) that consist of six treatments and four test, so it is gotten twenty four experiments. Every the Janjang dust treatment that given are A0= without janjang dust of oil palm, A1= 0,08 gram per plant (32 kg/ha), A2= 0,16 gram per plant (64 kg/ha), A3= 0,24 gram per plant (96 kg/ha), A4= 0,32 gram per plant (128 kg/ha), and A5= 0,4 gram per plant (160 kg/ha). The measured parameter is the high of plant (cm), the number of the effective leguminusae (fruit), the age of plant begin to flower (HST), the age of harvest (HST), the number of primary branch (fruit), the percentage of polong bernas (%), the weight of 100 dry seed (gram) and the weight of the dry seed (gram). The result of this research shown that the Janjang dust of oil palm treatment with dose 0,4 gram per plant (160 kg/ha) give the good effect for plant (cm), the number of the effevtive leguminusae (plant), the age of harvest (HST), the number of primary branch (fruit), the percentage of polong (%), the weight 100 dry seed and the weight of dry seed per, if seen by the growth and the production sides.   Keyword: Soybean Plant, Oil Palm,

Abstract

The research aimed to determine the effect of mineral soil and oil palm bunch ash on peat medium on the growth of oil palm seedling (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) in main nursery. The research was conducted from April to August 2015. This research is a 4 x 4 factorial experiment arranged in a completely randomized design (CRD). The first factor is effect mineral soil consist of four levels: 0, 50, 75 and 100 g/5,6 kg peat soil. The second factor is effect oil palm bunch ash consist of four levels: 0, 25, 50 and 75 g/5,6 kg peat soil, thus there are 16 combinations of treatment is repeated three times, so there are 48 experimental units. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and continued with further test Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5%. The results showed that the combination of mineral soil 10 ton/ha with  oil palm bunch ash 15 ton/ha increase height and seedling dry  weight. Giving oil palm bunch ash increase hight and tends to increase the volume of roots, dry weight and ratio root crown. Giving mineral soil up to 15 ton/ha tends to increase the volume of roots, dry weight and ratio root crown.   Keywords: Mineral soil, peat soil, oil palm bunch ash, main nursery

Abstract

This research aim to get the interaction of manure and water volume on the growth and yield of edamame soybean and determine the combination that gives the highest production on the growth and yield of edamame soybean. This research was conducted at the Screen House Stadion of Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau on January 2015 until March 2015. This research arranged Completely Rendomized Design (CRD) with factor (I) composed of three (5 tons/ha, 10 tons/ha, 15 tons/ha) and factor (II) composed of three  (50% water volume, 75% water volume, 100% water volume). The data analyzed by (ANOVA) and tested further by Duncan Multiple Test Level (DNMRT) at 5%. The observed parameters are plant height, days to flowering, percentage of effective root nodules, plant dry weight, number of branches, number of plant pods, percentage filled pods, weight of plant pods, seeds weight a plant and number of seeds a plant. Interaction manure and water volume improve on percentage filled pod and doesn`t improve on plants height, days to flowering, percentage of effective root nodules, plant dry weight, number of branches,number of plant pods, weight of plant pods, seeds weight a plant and number of seeds a plant. Manure 5 tons/ha and 50% water volume is a combination treatment of the highest. Keywords : Edamame Soybean, Manure, Water Volume
