Abstract

The research aims to determine the impact of interaction between biofertilizer and N, P, K fertilizer along with the best dosage of biofertilizer and N, P, K fertilizerin increasing growth and yield of red chili. The research was conducted at Experimental Garden of Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau, as long as four months from June to October 2018. The research was done using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) factorial consist of 2 factors. The first factor was Bioboost biofertilizer concentration that consist of 4 levels (40, 80, 120, and          160 cc.l-1 water per plant). The second factor was dosage of N, P, K Fertilizer that consist of 4 levels (0, 0.25, 0.50, and 0.75% from recommendation dosage of N, P, Kfertilizer). The observed parameters were plant height, days to flowering, days to harvesting, fruit length, fruit diameter, and fruit weight per plant. The observed parameters data were analyzed by variance and followed by Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level. The result of the research showed that the treatment of bioboost biofertilizer at concentration 120 cc.l-1 and N, P, K fertilizer (Urea at dosage 82,5 kg.ha-1, TSP at dosage 37,5 kg.ha-1 and KCl at dosage              50 kg.ha-1) gave better impact on plant height, days to flowering, days to harvesting, fruit length, fruit diameter and fruit weight per plant compared to the other treatments.Keyword: red chili, bioboost biofertilizer. Abstract

This research was aimed to determine the effect of guano application and get best doses for the growth and production. This research was carried out at Agriculture experimental station of Agriculture Faculty Riau University. This research was completed from april to may 2019. This research used a Completely Randomized Desaign ( CRD ). The treatments were aplication of guano at a plot of one m2, there were 0,6 kg.m-2, 0,9 kg.-2, 1,2 kg.m-2, 1,5 kg.m-2 dan 1,8 kg.m-2. The results showed that application of guano can increase plant height, leaves number, leaves large, plant weight per m2 and plant weight of eduble consumption per m2. Application of guano at 1,8 kg.m-2 showed best dose on each parameters.  Keywords : Pakchoy , Guano Fertilizer

Abstract

This research purposed to find out the interaction of earthworms vermicompost and mycorrhiza on the growth and production of shallot (Allium ascalonicum L) and to get a best dose the combination earthworms vermicompost and mycorrhiza on the growth and production of shallot. The research was conducted on randomized block design (RBD) factorial consisting of two factors. The first factor was the earthworms vermicompost that consists of 4 levels that is K0: 0 ton/ha, K1: 15 ton/ha, K2: 20 ton/ha, K3: 25 ton/ha and the second factor was mycorrhiza consists of 2 levels that is M0: 0 g/plant, M1: 10 g/plant. Parameters observed relative growth rate, plant dry weight, number of leaves per clump, the number of tubers per clump, convolution of tubers per clump, the weight of fresh roots per clump, tuber weight dry shelf per panicle and weight of dried tubers shelf per plot carried out at the end of the research, data were statistically analyzed by ANOVA and followed by Duncan's multiple range test on 5% level. The results showed that earthworms vermicompost and mycorrhiza showed significant interaction observations on all parameters except the number of tubers per hill. Based on the research granting earthworms vermicompost treatment combined 15 ton/ha and mycorrhiza 10 g/plant is the best dose in getting the growth and production of onion.Keywords: Shallot, Earthworms vermicompost, Mycorrhiza,

Abstract

Japanese cambodia(Adenium sp.) is one of the horticultural commodities of ornamental plant species whose beauty lies in the flowers, roots, and stems in the form of humps. The purpose of this study was to determine the best dose of NPK fertilizer and the composition of the appropriate growing media for the growth of Japanese frangipani (Adenium sp.) plants. This research was carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, Bina Widya Campus Km 12.5, Simpang Baru Village, Tampan Pekanbaru District for seven months, from February-August 2019. The frangipani plant seeds used were ±2 months old with NPK pearl fertilizer (16:16:16). The study was conducted in a 4x3 factorial experiment using a randomized block design (RAK) which consisted of 2 factors, so there were 12 treatment combinations. Factor I (giving planting media) consisted of four levels and Factor II (giving compound NPK fertilizer) consisted of three level. The results showed that the use of Inceptisol 100% growing media gave a better impact on the increase in the number of leaves (strands), hump diameter (mm) and the number of flowers (buds), while the planting medium with husk charcoal mixture showed the fastest first flower. Dosage of 15g NPK fertilizer per plant gave a better impact on leaf area (cm2), bulb diameter (mm), flower appearance (days), and number of flowers (buds).  Keywords : Japanese cambodia, growth, growing media, fertilizer

Abstract

Acacia is generally propagated by cuttings, shoots for genetic preservation and production of large numbers of seedlings. The problem with planting acacia is when seeding cuttings. The critical period for cutting cuttings is when the cuttings have not yet taken root, while the formation of shoots requires active growth of the roots, so that during this period the number of cuttings that die during sowing is very high. The fix can be done by giving Rootone-F which is a growth regulator of the auxin type, which can stimulate and accelerate the rooting of cuttings. This study aims to determine the effect and obtain the best concentration of Rootone-F for the growth of acacia shoot cuttings. This study used a randomized block design (RBD) with five concentrations of Rootone-F treatment, namely: 0 ppm (control), 100 ppm, 200 ppm, 300 ppm, and 400 ppm. The results showed that the administration of Rootone-F had an effect on the growth of seedling height and number of leaves. Giving Rootone-F concentration of 100 ppm is the best treatment that supports the growth of acacia cuttings. Key words: Acacia, Shoot cuttings, Rootone-F, Plant regulation

Abstract

The research aims to study the effect of the application ultra gen biofertilizer and N, P, K fertilizer on the growth and production of onion (Allium ascalonicum L.). The research was conducted at Agricultural Faculty Experimental Unit, University of Riau, Pekanbaru. The research in form factorial experimentally 5x3 arranged in a completely randomized design. The first factor was ultra gen biofertilizer consists of 5 levels (without, 50, 100, 150 and 200 l.ha-1). The second factor was a N, P, K fertilizer consists of 3 levels (without, 100 kg N + 45 kg P2O5 + 37,5 kg K2O and 200 kg N + 90 kg P2O5 + 75 kg K2O.ha-1), each combination was repeated 3 times. The parameters observed were number of bulb per clump, circumference of bulb, weight of bulb fresh per clump, weight of bulb fresh per plot and weight of bulb consumption per plot. The application of ultra gen biofertilizer doses of 100 l.ha-1and N, P, K fertilizer 100 kg N + 45 kg P2O5 + 37,5 kg K2O.ha-1 increased weight of bulb fresh per clump, weight of bulb fresh per plot and weight of bulb consumption per plot significantly compared to another combination, but not significantly on number of bulb per clump and circumference of bulb.

Abstract

Tanaman binahong merah (Basella rubra L.) merupakan salah satu tanaman yang mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder berkhasiat obat. Kultur kalus adalah salah satu solusi dalam menghasilkan senyawa metabolit sekunder dengan jumlah yang besar.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian 2,4-D dan kinetin dalam menginduksi kalus daun binahong merah. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Bioteknologi Tanaman Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Riau pada bulan November 2019 sampai Maret 2020. Percobaan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok yang terdiri dari dua faktor yaitu 2,4-D dengan empat taraf konsentrasi yaitu 0 ppm, 0,5 ppm, 1 ppm dan 2 ppm dan kinetin dengan empat taraf konsentrasi yaitu 0 ppm, 0,5 ppm, 1 ppm dan 2 ppm dengan tiga ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi perlakuan tanpa 2,4-D dan 0,5 ppm kinetin memberikan respon terbaik pada saat muncul kalus 11,67 HST dan perlakuan 1 ppm 2,4-D dan 2 ppm kinetin memberikan respon terbaik pada persentase keberhasilan induksi kalus 62,50 %.  Red binahong (Basella rubra L.) is a plant that contains medicinal secondary metabolites.  Callus culture is one solution in producing secondary metabolites in large quantities. This research aimed to determine the effect of 2,4-D and kinetin in inducing callus on red binahong leaves. The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Plant Biotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture, the University of Riau from November 2019 to March 2020. The experiment used a randomized block design with two factors, namely four levels of 2,4-D 0, 0.5, 1, and 2 ppm and four levels of kinetin namely 0, 0.5, 1, and 2 ppm with three replications. The results showed that a combination of 0 ppm 2,4-D and 0.5 ppm kinetin and 1 ppm 2,4-D and 2 ppm had the fastest callus formation 11.67 DAP and a combination of 1 ppm 2,4-D and 2 ppm kinetin produced weigher callus 6.4 mg and had a percentage of callus formation 62.50%.

Abstract

The research aimed to determine the effect of the interaction of chicken manure and ash rice straw on peatlands and get a better dose of growth and yield of soybean. This research was conduct on randomized block design of factorial that consist of two factors. The first factor was the ash rice straw, with 3 levels 0 ton/ha, 3 ton/ha and 6 ton/ha and the second factor was the chicken manure fertilizer with 4 levels of 0 ton/ha, 5 tons/ha, 10 ton/ha and 15 ton/ha. The result showed that the ash rice straw and chicken manure fertilizer significantly effect of rate plant growth and weight 100 seeds, but the effect was not significantly on weight nodule, leaf area index, age of flowering plants, harvesting, the percentage of pods phity, number of seeds per plant, harvest index and seed yield per m2. The highest yield in soybean was obtained on giving of 6 tons/ha ash rice straw and 15 ton/ha of chicken manure fertilizer was 3.22 ton/ha increase of 25.27% of the without treatment, while the giving of ash rice straw 6 ton/ha and chicken manure fertilizer 10 ton/ha was 3.17 ton/ha increase 23.71% of the without treatment and giving of ash rice straw 6 ton/ha and chicken manure fertilizer 5 ton/ha was 3.08 ton/ha increase 20.31% of the without treatment. Keyword: Soybean,  Ash rice straw, Chicken manure fertilizer, Peatland.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of application AB mix and liquid organic fertilizer from household waste and to get the best combination in supporting tomato growth and yield. The study conducted in the greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, from January to April 2018. The research was an experiment consisting of five treatments arranged in a completely randomized design (CRD) and four replications. Combined AB mix with household waste POC consisting of T1: 1⁄4 AB Mix + 3⁄4 POC household waste, T2: 1⁄2 AB Mix + 1⁄2 POC household waste, T3: 3⁄4 AB Mix + 1⁄4 POC household waste, T4: AB Mix and T5: POC household waste. The results showed that the AB mix and combined with household waste POCs can accelerate flowering and increase the number of flowers, number of fruits per plant and total weight of fruit per plant. The application  of fertilizer AB mix combined with household waste POC for best growth and yield of tomato plants, namely ¼ AB mix + ¾ POC household waste.Keywords: Tomato, AB mix,  liquid organic fertilizer from household waste

Abstract

The research aimed to determine the effect of oil palm empty fruit bunches trichokompos and to get the best dose in the embedding medium on the growth of cocoa. This research has been conducted at the experimental farm, Agriculture Faculty of Riau University. This research was conducted during the four months from July to October 2016. The research arranged experimentally by using Completely Randomized Design with 4 treatments and 5 replications. Treatment research was dose consisting of : (12.5 g/polybag, 25 g/polybag, 37.5 g/polybag, 50 g/polybag,). The observed parameters were a plant height, leaf number, stem diameter, leaf area, shoot root ratio and dry weight. The results showed that the oil palm empty fruit bunches trichokompos effect on the parameters of plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, and the dry weight. Giving trichokompos oil palm empty fruit bunches (37.5 to 50) g/polybag showed better growth on the cacao seeds. Keywords : cacao, trichokompos, oil palm empty fruit bunches.
