Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of attendance, e-performance application, and employee income supplementation on employee performance. Quantitative paradigms and deductive reasoning were used in this study, developing a conceptual model based on previous empirical results and theoretical studies, which was then tested using structural equation modeling. The population in this study was the entire Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency of North Sumatra Province, totaling 985 employees. The sample was determined using the Slovin formula, resulting in a total of 169 respondents. Data were collected using a questionnaire in the form of a Google Form. The data collected in this study were analyzed using the PLS-SEM-based structural equation modeling method, which is a form of structural modeling to explain the patterns of relationships between variables, both directly and partially, and also to test the conceptual framework proposed in the study. The results showed that all proposed hypotheses were accepted. Attendance, e-performance, and employee supplementary income significantly impact employee performance at the Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency of North Sumatra Province, directly or partially.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effects of competence, education, and length of service on the performance of shipboard employees, as well as the mediating role of work engagement at PT Temas Shipping. The study involved all shipboard employees, with a total population of 50 people. Data were collected using primary data in the form of a 1–5 Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis employed a quantitative survey method. The findings indicate that: competence has a positive and significant effect on work engagement, ( education has a positive and significant effect on work engagement, length of service has a positive and significant effect on work engagement, competence has a positive and significant effect on performance, education has a positive and significant effect on performance, length of service has a positive and significant effect on performance, work engagement has a positive and significant effect on performance, competence affects performance through work engagement as an intervening variable, education affects performance through work engagement as an intervening variable and length of service affects performance through work engagement as an intervening variable.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of financial inclusion on the performance of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), with financial literacy acting as a mediating variable. MSMEs play a vital role in economic growth; however, many business owners face challenges related to limited access to financial services and inadequate financial knowledge. This research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected from MSME owners through structured questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that financial inclusion has a positive and significant effect on MSME performance, demonstrating that access to banking services, credit facilities, and digital financial platforms supports business growth and operational efficiency. Financial inclusion also significantly influences financial literacy, suggesting that greater exposure to financial services enhances business owners’ financial knowledge and skills. Furthermore, financial literacy has a significant positive effect on MSME performance and is proven to mediate the relationship between financial inclusion and performance. These findings imply that financial inclusion alone is insufficient without adequate financial literacy to ensure effective utilization of financial resources. Therefore, improving financial education alongside expanding access to financial services is essential to strengthen MSME sustainability and competitiveness. This study provides valuable insights for policymakers and financial institutions in developing strategies to enhance MSME performance through inclusive and educational financial systems.
