Abstract

Problem-solving ability were the abilities that students needed because problems always existed in everyday life. In physics study, static fluid material was one of the materials related to everyday life that could make students think to solve the problem. The purpose of this research was identified the problem solving ability of high school students of static fluid materials based on the Taxonomy of Introductory Physics Problems. This research was included in qualitative descriptive research. The research methods used tests, interviews, and documentation. The test instrument used test description of problem solving abilities based on the Taxonomy of Introductory Physics Problems as many as 11 units. Research was conducted in three state schools in the suburbs of Jember disctrict with one class per school. The result of the research showed that students' problem solving ability of static fluid materials based on Taxonomy of Introductory Physics Problems at SMAN A at most levels with less categories while in SMAN B and SMAN C at most levels with very less categories.Key Word: Problem Solving Ability, Static Fluid, Taxonomy of Introductory Physics Problems

Abstract

The cooperative learning model type group investigation based on observations of physical symptoms is one model that can improve learning outcomes and developing science process skills of students in science subjects. This research aims to reviewing the difference in students learning outcomes that are taught using the cooperative learning model type group investigation based on observations of physical symptoms with the students taught using direct learning model that usually taught by a teacher in junior high school and describe the students learning science process skills after using the cooperative learning model type group investigation based on observations of physical symptom. This type of research is an experimental research conducted at the country junior high school 7 Jember. Source of data derived from the assessment by the observer, post-test, and filling the questionnaire. Based on the research that has been conducted, the obtained 1) t test assessment results obtained sig. 0.001 ≤0.05 so that Ha accepted and Ho rejected, it means there is a significant difference between the students taught by the cooperative learning model type group investigation based on observations of physical symptom with students taught using direct learning model commonly taught by teacher in junior high school 2) The avarage results of students learning science process skills in each indikator that is 90,33%. Means the learning science process skills of students while using the cooperative learning model type group investigation based on observations of physical symptom included in the category good

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research was to describe the misconception that studentsuse a Four-Tier Diagnostic Test on the material laws of thermodynamics inBondowoso High School. The population in this research is the entire class XI inSMAN 1 Tenggarang, SMAN 3 Bondowoso, and SMAN 1 Pujer. The selected samplesfor research was a class of XI MIPA2 SMAN 1 Tenggarang, XI MIPA2 SMAN 3Bondowoso, and XI MIPA1 SMAN 1 Pujer which is selected using the method ofpurposive sampling area. Data collection methods used in this research is a methodof documentation, tests, and interviews. The instruments used multiple choicediagnostic test shaped four levels and guidelines for interviews. Based on the resultsof data analysis and discussion can be known that overall misconception that studentson the subject of laws of thermodynamics in SMA Bondowoso of 28.04% so thisqualifies a misconception to low levels.Keywords: Misconception, Four-Tier Diagnostic Test, Laws Of Thermodynamics

Abstract

Learning is a relatively permanent process of change resulting from experience. While the teaching materials can help students to be actively involved in learning activities one of them is the student worksheet (LKS). Student Worksheet (LKS) can be used as teaching materials that make students more active. Collaborative learning process can facilitate students in learning, each group member can learn from each other, even teachers can learn from their students. While the science process skill is a set of skills used in conducting investigations to find concepts, principles or theories. The purpose of his research was intended to know the validity of LKS, effectiveness of learning out came, and ability of science process skill after using LKS. Based on data analysis that LKS (Student Worksheet) was disseminated in valid category is 4.06. The effectiveness of LKS with amounting to 35 students with the average pre-test value 46.45 and posttest 75.72. Data analysis of both pre-test and post-test data in N-gain test show that significant result that is 0.5 with moderate criterion in science skill skill of XI IPA I MAN 3 Jember.Key words: Collaborative Learning, LKS, Process Science Skills.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to exmine the validity of LKS, examined the great improvement of critical thinking skills and examined the students’ responses to LKS. The development model of this research used Borg and Gall's which summarized into four stages: (1) preliminary study, (2) initial product development, (3) revision and validation, and (4) empirical and final product testing. The respondents of this study were the tenth grade students of SMAN Balung, and the total number was 34 students. Data collection techniques were obtained from observations, tests and questionnaires. The results exhibit that the LKS assisted by PhET simulation included in the validity category that is valid, with a large value of expert validation is 78,6% and user validation is 83,3%. Data analysis techniques of critical thingking skill by using N-gain obtained big increase to 0,51 which is included in moderte criterion. Futhermore, the last data collection technique was by questionnaires to obtain the students’ learning responses data using LKS assisted by PhET simulation. Data collection using percentage, the result obtained form thr average of all indicators obtained to 94% which come into very positive category. This means that the LKS assisted PhET simulation can be used in the classroom learning processKey word: critical thinking , LKS, PhET simulation,and student responses.

Abstract

Collaborative Creativitiy (CC) intructional model is instructional model to training student’s physics concept and scientific process skill with apply CC which describe procedures systematically and used to guide teachers to help students how to identify problems, exploring creative ideas, collaborative creativity, elaboration, and evaluation of physics concept and scientific process skill. The implementation of the instructional model will be more effectively done by utilizing the media realized in computer tecnology. The type of this research was an experimental research by post-test control group design. Population of the research was all student’s at SMAN 1 Pakusari. The technique to collect data was documentation, observation, interview, and tests.The results of this research were the averaage of student’s science process skills was 90,04% (good criteria) and the significant difference on the physics concept of student was 0,002 using T-Test SPSS 23. This reseacrh can be concluded: first, the average of student’s science process skills is in good criteria. Secondly, threre is a significant difference in concept governance of students who use Collaborative Creativitiy with Virtual Laboratory and who do not use Collaborative Creativitiy with Virtual Laboratory.Key word: Collaborative Creativity, Physics Concept, and Scientific Process Skill.

Abstract

Creative Problem Solving is a learning model which gives the opportunity to students constructing concepts, discussing materials, issuing opinions, and developing creativity in learning group. The purpose of this research was understand the improvement of concepts comprehension and scientific creativity skill of students on Elasticity and Hooke's law. This research was included in descriptive. This research was carried out based on the school availability as a place of research,. Research respondent in this case is Man 1 JEMBER in Science Class. Furthermore, sampling technique in this study was based on purposive sampling area. Collecting data method used pre-test and post-test. In this research, the instrument was essay test, consisted of nine item of concept comprehension and seven item of scientific creativity. The data analysis method of concept comprehension and seven item of scientific creativity used Normalized Gain (Ng). Based on this study, the concept comprehension of students significantly increased to 0,71 (high) while the scientific creativity skill increased to 0.4 (medium).Keyword: CPS, Concept Comprehension, Scientific Creativity Skill

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memperoleh informasi mengenai bencana alam, mengurangi resiko yang ditimbulkan serta untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat dalam menghadapi atau mengurangi resiko bencana alam tanah longsor yang berada di Desa Tramuk, Kecamatan Kokop, Kabupaten Bangkalan. Adanya penelitian ini diharapkan masyarakat dapat hidup dan bekerja dengan aman serta dapat meminimalisir dampak bencana tanah longsor. Pengambilan sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik random sampling kepada masyarakat desa Tramuk, dimana pada saat pengambilan informasi menggunakan tiga narasumber. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah wawancara dan observasi. Berdasarkan wawancara dan observasi yang telah dilakukan, desa Tramok memiliki kondisi tanah yang tandus dan kering, awal mula terjadinya longsor pada tahun 2018 dan sudah terjadi sebanyak dua kali. Penyebab terjadinya longsor diketahui tidak adanya aliran air dan kondisi tanah yang kering, adapun upaya yang dilakukan oleh warga adalah membuat jalur pembuangan air, tetapi permasalahan belum dapat teratasi dengan maksimal, disisi lain tidak adanya penanganan dari pemerintah akan kondisi ini. Berdasarkan kajian literatur, pemerintah daerah dan pemerintah pusat diharapkan mampu memberikan sosialisasi dan penanganan khusus terkait bencana longsor yang terjadi. Implikasi dari penelitian ini diharapkan segenap peneliti dapat memberikan kontribusi dan inovasi dan mengharapkan dungungan penuh dari pemerintah daerah ataupun pemerintah pusat.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of critical thinking ability of a high school students in Situbondo after the application of problem based learning model with a tracker video on momentum and impulse materials. The population were all of the 1st grade students in SMAN 1 Suboh Situbondo. The sample determination were using purposive sample technique. The sample used was X MIPA 2 and X MIPA 4 class. The results concluded that after the application of problem based learning model with tracker video, the level of student’s critical thinking abilities is good. From the six critical thinking indicators, namely interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, explanation and self regulation, the indicator that has the highest percentage is interpretation with a very good category. While the indicator that has the lowest percentage is inference in the good category.

Abstract

Jember is a disaster-prone area, especially earthquakes. Disasters can cause many losses, ranging from casualties to property so that knowledge about disaster mitigation is very important to minimize the consequences caused. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of knowledge of Jember University students related to earthquake disaster mitigation. The research method used in this study is descriptive quantitative. This research was conducted on students of the University of Jember using test questions consisting of 10 questions. Data analysis was conducted by giving a score range of 1-4 on each question item, then the total score was converted into a score range of 0-100. The results of the analysis showed that the average overall score was 69.4, which is equivalent to a percentage of 69.4%. Therefore, the level of knowledge of Jember University students related to disaster mitigation is in the moderate category.
