Abstract

This study explores the economic transformation of coastal fishing households in Pusong Lama village, Lhokseumawe, Aceh, from traditional fishing practices to creative, value-added production. Using a qualitative approach supported by observation, interviews, and focus group discussions, the research analyzes how local initiatives and women’s participation have redefined livelihoods through the processing of keumamah (dried tuna) into marketable creative products. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, encompassing data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the creative economy movement not only increases household income but also fosters social empowerment, particularly among women who now manage production, marketing, and financial activities. Despite these achievements, challenges remain in terms of raw material availability, price fluctuations, and limited marketing access. This study contributes to the growing discourse on sustainable coastal development and women’s economic empowerment by showing how traditional fishing communities can adapt to market-oriented innovation through creative industry models.

Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in shaping individual character and quality. However, limitations in funding and supporting facilities make it challenging to provide diverse and innovative learning media. This situation results in a conventional learning process that is less engaging for students. The aim of this community service program is to enhance the pedagogical competence of Madrasah Diniyah teachers in developing creative, contextual, and easily implementable educational media based on Roda Angka and Kincir Shorof. The methods employed include initial observation, guided practice in media creation, and evaluation of training outcomes. The results indicate a significant improvement in teachers’ understanding and skills in developing educational media. Teachers are able to create simple yet effective learning media that increase student engagement and motivation. In addition, the program successfully established a community of creative Madrasah Diniyah teachers, serving as a platform for ongoing collaboration and innovation. In conclusion, this practice-based teacher mentoring program has proven effective in promoting learning transformation in nonformal educational institutions and can serve as a model for professional development of teachers in other Madrasah Diniyah

Abstract

This study addresses the critical need for innovative digital media to instill Religious Moderation (ECRM) and Islamic values early, contrasting traditional methods with the pervasive digital environment young children inhabit. The primary objective is to develop a scientifically grounded ECRM Conceptual Framework and produce a detailed Digital Product Blueprint for an Interactive Mobile Game, aligning with CEJ's focus on Holistic & Islamic ECCD and Neuro-Pedagogy. Employing the Research & Development (R&D) approach using the 4D model (Define-Design), the research scope halts at the design stage. The Define phase encompasses a needs assessment to analyze the alignment between existing Islamic curriculum, the necessity for early radicalism prevention, and young children's high digital exposure. Data were collected via document analysis (e.g., of the current PAI curriculum and international journals on digital literacy), supported by existing research on the integration of digital tools in religious education. The Design phase involved drafting the ECRM Mobile Game blueprint, detailing game mechanics, narrative flow (storyboard), and UI/UX optimized for neuro-pedagogical principles to foster affective and behavioral growth. This ensures the output is an expert-reviewed, technology-based product blueprint rooted in Islamic educational objectives. The key finding is the production of a validated ECRM Mobile Game Blueprint, ready for prototyping and future effectiveness testing.

Abstract

Feed costs are the largest component of duck farming and often pose a major constraint on the sustainability of small-scale farmers. This community service program aimed to apply appropriate technology, in the form of a green vegetable-chopping machine, to improve the efficiency of duck farming businesses. The partner was a household-scale laying duck farmer with approximately 300 ducks who partially substituted commercial feed with discarded green vegetables from traditional markets. The main problems were low feed intake efficiency due to whole-vegetable feeding and the absence of chopping equipment. The implementation methods included field surveys and situation analysis, machine design and fabrication, operational testing, training in operations and maintenance, and impact evaluation. The results showed that the vegetable chopping machine with A capacity of approximately 100 kg/hour and a 1 HP electric motor significantly improved the utilization of green feed. The application reduced commercial feed costs by about 25% and increased daily egg production by around 4–5%. This activity demonstrates that simple, affordable, and context-appropriate technology can effectively enhance business efficiency and economic resilience of small-scale duck farmers.

Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out in three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The research results show that teachers implement strategies to improve the quality of learning through careful curriculum planning, organizing teaching tasks, and comprehensive evaluation. Evaluation is carried out through written assessments, interviews, and accidental oral assessments. Apart from that, teachers also strengthen teaching materials by habituating good behavior among students, aiming to form good morals automatically without needing to think long.
