Abstract

This study investigates how an Islamic-based international school in Indonesia, Global Islamic School (GIS) Yogyakarta, forms globally minded young citizens through curricular and non-curricular initiatives. Amid the growing importance of global citizenship education (GCE) in the 21st century, the study explores how GIS integrates core global citizenship competencies into its educational vision, pedagogical design, and student development programs. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, document analysis, and classroom observations. Findings indicate that GIS utilizes a four-pillar model within the national curriculum plus framework to cultivate a generation of globally engaged Muslim youth. Additionally, extracurricular programs such as bilingual learning days, international competitions, and educational trips abroad provide meaningful spaces for students to develop global competencies in authentic contexts. This study contributes to the discourse on faith-based approaches to global citizenship education and offers implications for schools cultivating inclusive, ethical, and globally engaged young people.

Abstract

This study examines the role of digital literacy as a fundamental element in strengthening political education for the younger generation in the digital age. Using a qualitative descriptive method through literature study, this study identifies and analyzes various literature related to digital literacy and political education. The results show that conventional political education is still limited by space and time, while digital-based political education provides broader and more flexible access. Digital literacy is a determining factor in the effectiveness of digital political education because it equips the younger generation with critical thinking skills, the ability to counter disinformation, and the ability to participate responsibly in democratic life. Theoretically, this study contributes to the development of a conceptual model that links digital literacy with political participation. Practically, the results of this study provide recommendations for policymakers and educators in integrating digital literacy into the civic and political education curriculum.

Abstract

Civic engagement includes social and political dimensions, and the two dimensions are interrelated in line with this. In this study, the author uses the Scientific Procedures and Rationales for Systematic Literature Reviews protocol (SPAR-4-SLR). In the protocol, there are three stages and six sub-stages. The stages consist of Assembling, Arranging, and Assessing, and the sub-stages consist of Identification, Acquisition, Organization, Purification, Evaluation, and Reporting. Furthermore, the author used thematic, descriptive, and bibliometric analysis techniques. In bibliometric analysis, the author used the VOSviewer application version 1.6.20. The study's results using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method using the SPAR-4-SLR protocol show the breadth of research developments related to digital citizenship and civic engagement in various topics and various types of studies or methods. The diversity of country and institutional backgrounds of the authors of articles related to Digital Citizenship and Civic Engagement from each article also shows the broad interest value in the category.

Abstract

Paulo Freire's Thoughts on Problem-posing education were born from his criticism of bank-style education that made learners as savings where knowledge was filled without any interaction between teachers and learners. In Problem-posing education, students are directed to learn directly from the problems around them. Freire's Facing Problems Education aims to foster critical awareness possessed by students to examine problems that occur in the social, economic, political, and cultural fields. Civic education, as one of the subjects that aim to form good citizens, needs to apply the concept of facing problems in the learning process of civic education. This is because civic education has material related to citizens' lives. The application of Problem-posing education in civic education aims to enable students who are part of citizens to have critical thinking and awareness in examining problems that occur amid national and state life.

Abstract

Krisis nilai dan moral yang melanda Indonesia dewasa ini bisa dijadikan indikasi kegagalan pendidikan nilai dan moral baik di sekolah, keluarga, maupun masyarakat.  Social studies yang merupakan salah satu mata pelajaran yang memiliki misi pendidikan nilai dan moral selama ini cenderung menggunakan atau menekankan secara lebih berat pada satu tradisi dan strategi pembelajaran tertentu sehingga lebih bersifat parsial.            Mengingat permasalah nilai dan moral yang demikian berat melanda negara ini, para guru Social Studies perlu melakukan perubahan, khususnya pemilihan strategi pembelajaran yang selama ini terbutli kurang efektif. Salah satu cara itu adalah dengan mengintegrasikan tradisi dan strategi pembelajaran. Dengan mengintegrasikan tradisi social studies sebagai pendidikan kewarganegaraan, ilmu sosial, reflective inquiry dan mengintegrasikan strategi pendidikan nilai baik inkulkasi, fasilitasi, pemodelan, maupun pengembangan ketrampilan berkaitan dengan nilai, termasuk pendidikan nilai komprehensif baik materi, media, pelaku, waktu, tempat dan  evaluasi diharapkan pendidikan nilai akan lebih efektif. Dengan pendidikan nilai dan moral yang efektif diharapkan akan tercipta warga negara yang memiliki integritas nilai dan moral yang tangguh sehingga krisis nilai dan moral yang melanda negeri ini segera teratasi.            Meskipun guru telah melakukan tugasnya dengan baik, tanpa dukungan dari orangtua, tokoh masyarakat, dan pemerintah, pendidikan nilai tidak akan efektif. Oleh karena itu, pendidikan nilai dan moral yang komprehensif menuntut kerjasana semua stake holder untuk bahu-membahu secara sinergis dan berkesinambungan dalam upaya mendidik anak bangsa menjadi insan yang memiliki integritas nilai dan moral yang tangguh.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan strategi penguatan nasionalisme yang dilakukan oleh guru Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan (PPKn), faktor pendukung dan faktor penghambat dalam penguatan nilai nasionalisme generasi muda di daerah perbatasan Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah para guru PPKn yang mengikuti program sarjana mendidik di daerah terdepan, terluar, dan tertinggal di wilayah Indonesia. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis dengan teknik analisis induktif. Langkah-langkah analisis data yang dilakukan meliputi: reduksi data, kategorisasi, display data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi penguatan nasionalisme yang dilakukan oleh guru PPKn yakni melalui pendekatan budaya dan psikologis dengan pembiasaan dan keteladanan dalam pembelajaran. Faktor-faktor yang mendukung antara lain kemauan peserta didik yang kuat, sinergi sekolah dan pemerintah, dan kehadiran Tentara Nasional Indonesia. Sementara faktor penghambat antara lain: keterbatasan akses informasi sumber belajar mengenai nasionalisme, letak geografis, dan adat istiadat.The strategy to Strengthen Indonesian Border Nationalism. This study aims to describe the strategy of strengthening nationalism carried out by Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) teachers, supporting factors and inhibiting factors in strengthening the value of young generation's nationalism in Indonesia's border regions. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. Research subjects were PPKn teachers who took part in educating undergraduate programs in the foremost, outermost, and disadvantaged regions in the Indonesian region. Data collection uses in-depth interview techniques and documentation. Data were analyzed by inductive analysis techniques. The steps of data analysis include: data reduction, categorization, data display, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the strategy of strengthening nationalism carried out by PPKn teachers was through cultural and psychological approaches with habituation and exemplary learning. Supporting factors include a strong student will, school and government synergy, and the presence of the Indonesian National Army. While the inhibiting factors include: limited access to information about learning resources about nationalism, geographical location, and local wisdom.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of learning media as an effort to increase understanding of Pancasila values through online learning. This study uses quasi-experimental research by providing a pre-test post-test control design. In this study, there were two groups, namely, the experimental group was given to students of Music Arts education and the control group was given to students of German language education. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire that has been made through google forms. The data analysis technique used a normality test, data analysis, standard gain score test, and t-test. The results showed that the normality test using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov statistical technique resulted in the pre-test and post-test results for the control class and the experimental class. The data were normally distributed. Thus, H0 and H1 are accepted, meaning that there are differences in understanding the values of Pancasila between the control class and the experimental class using different learning media. Pembelajaran daring untuk meningkatkan pemahaman pada nilai PancasilaPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh media pembelajaran sebagai upaya peningkatan pemahaman nilai-nilai Pancasila melalui pembelajaran daring. Penelitian ini menggunakan eksperimen semu (quasi-experimental research) dengan memberikan Pre-test Post-test Control Design. Dalam penelitian ini terdapat dua kelompok yaitu kelompok eksperimen diberikan kepada mahasiswa pendidikan Seni Musik dan kelompok kontrol diberikan kepada mahasiswa pendidikan Bahasa Jerman. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket yang telah dibuat melalui google formulir. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, analisis data, uji standar gain score, dan uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukan uji normalitas dengan teknik statistik Kolmogorov-Smirnov hasil pre-test dan post-test kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen data berdistribusi normal. Dengan demikian H0 dan H1 diterima, artinya terdapat perbedaan dalam memahami nilai-nilai Pancasila antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran yang berbeda

Abstract

This study analyzes how Generation Z's digital activism through Instagram during the August–September 2025 demonstrations reflects substantive civic participation. A mixed-method approach with a sequential explanatory design was used. Quantitative data were analyzed using simple linear regression, and qualitative data were examined through thematic analysis. The study involved 200 Generation Z respondents selected through purposive sampling. The results indicate a statistically significant relationship between Instagram digital activism and online civic engagement (r = 0.818; p < 0.001). Approximately 66.9% of the variation in civic engagement is explained by digital activism. Qualitative findings reveal that Generation Z's digital activism transcends symbolic slacktivism and demonstrates substantive civic participation. Through Instagram features such as Stories, Reels, and templates, they disseminate information, shape public opinion, and coordinate real actions both online and offline. Instagram functions as a strategic medium for reflective and transformative civic engagement, showing that digital participation can evolve into meaningful social movements within the digital democracy ecosystem. Future research should include other social media platforms, expand the sample, and examine digital literacy as a mediating variable.

Abstract

The decline in integrity in Indonesian political practice has created a moral crisis, resulting in diminished public trust in government institutions. This suggests that corruption and unethical behavior are not merely legal issues but also moral and spiritual challenges reflecting a low level of ethical awareness among political leaders. This study aims to explore the concepts of anti-corruption ethics and political integrity from the perspectives of moral philosophy and religious ethics, highlighting how moral principles can be integrated into political structures. Using a descriptive qualitative approach using a literature review, this study identified and analyzed literature related to political ethics and moral-religious writings. The study's findings suggest that political integrity based on anti-corruption moral and spiritual principles is crucial for ethical and just governance. Integrity in politics relies heavily on honesty, responsibility, and moral accountability.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a PPKn Interactive E-Module to increase students' understanding of SMA Negeri 1 Malinau regarding threats to the position of the Republic of Indonesia. It is hoped that the use of innovative learning media can improve the quality of learning and students' understanding of the material being taught. The development of this E-Module uses the ADDIE method, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The final product is tested for suitability by experts. The material expert's assessment resulted in an average score of 3.8 with a percentage of 95%, which is in the "very decent" category. The media expert's assessment resulted in an average score of 3.87 with a percentage of 97%, also in the "very decent" category. The average result of the material and media validator assessment is 3.83 with a percentage of 96%, indicating that this Interactive E-Module is "very suitable" to be used as teaching material regarding threats to the position of the Republic of Indonesia. Product effectiveness testing was carried out through pre-test and posttest, with the t test results showing a significant value (sig) = 0.000, smaller than ? 0.05, so that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. The students' average pre-test score was 55.00 and the posttest average score was 85.83, indicating an increase of 30.83. This indicating that there is a significant increase in understanding among class XI students after using the PPKn Interactive E-Module on material regarding threats to the position of the Republic of Indonesia. Thus, the PPKn learning E-Module for class XI at SMA Negeri 1 Malinau is effective in increasing students' understanding of this material
