Abstract

Adulthood was where the nutritional needs of the adult age changed according to the age group. Lifestyle changes, in accordance with the changes in diet from traditional food to modern food habits led to overweight and obesity. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of vegetable and fruit consumption with the incidence of central obesity in adults in Pasar Ikan Bengkulu Health Center of Bengkulu City in 2018. This research was descriptive research with cross-sectional approach. The location of this research was in Pasar Ikan Bengkulu Health Center of Bengkulu City. The technique of getting samplis was by using simple random sampling with the sample of 74 sampel. The data was colledted by using interview and FFQ semi kuantitatif, which then analyzed by univariate and bivariate. The results of this research were 82,4% for vegetable consumption which was included in poor category, 55.4% fruit consumption which was included in good category and 78.4% for waist circumference which was included in central obesity, it was tested by using chi square test. The result showed that there was no relationship between the habits of consuming vegetables with the incidence of central obesity (ρ> 0.05) and there was no association between the habits of consuming fruit with the incidence of central obesity (ρ> 0.05). It was important to provide counseling about the importance of eating fruits and vegetables so the obese can always control their weight and add insight to constantly adjust their diet.

Abstract

Penurunan berat badan dan nafsu makan seringkali terjadi pada pasien TB paru. Determinan penyakit TB paru salah satunya infeksi dan status gizi.Pasien TB paru mengalami penurunan status gizi disebabkan tingkat perilaku terhadap makanan dan kesehatan, khususnya kecukupan energi dan protein. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui hubungan asupan energi, protein, vitamin B6, vitamin C dengan status gizi pada pasien tuberkulosis paru di RSUD Dr M Yunus Bengkulu tahun 2020. Metode penelitian merupakan observasional analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan metode accidental sampling dengan jumlah sampel 35 pasien. Pengumpulan data asupan zat gizi dengan metode semi food frequency quesitonaire (FFQ) dan recall 1x24 jam. Analisis data secara univariat dan bivariat menggunakan uji spearman corelation. Hasil penelitian menunjukan rata-rata asupan energi, protein, vitamin B6, dan vitamin C kategori kurang dari angka kecukupan gizi (AKG). Terdapat hubungan antara asupan energi dan status gizi, tidak terdapat hubungan antara asupan protein dan status gizi, tidak terdapat hubungan antara asupan vitamin B6 dengan status gizi, tidak terdapat hubungan antara asupan vitamin C dan status gizi. Diharapkan kepada pasien TB paru dapat meningkatkan asupan energi dari sumber karbohidrat, protein, dan lemak agar terhindar dari kekurangan gizi.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Diabetes Melitus (DM) ditandai dengan tingginya kadar glukosa dalam darah disertai dengan gangguan metabolisme karbohidrat, lipid dan protein sebagai akibat dari insufisiensi fungsi insulin. Peningkatan DM didasarkan oleh gaya hidup yang tidak sehat,  banyak mengkonsumsi makanan berlemak, kurangnya aktivitas fisik sehingga tidak terkontrolnya kadar glukosa darah. Senam diabetes merupakan aerobic low impact dan ritmic, bermanfaat menurunkan kadar glukosa darah dan mencegah kegemukan serta menekan terjadinya komplikasi. Untuk menggerakan masyarakat untuk hidup sehat dan aktif melakukan pencegahan DM melalui aktivitas senam OceDM, di Kecamatan Pondok Kelapa Kabupaten Bengkulu Tengah Propinsi Bengkulu. Metode kegiatan berupa ceramah, praktek, diskusi dan partisipastif. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan terbentuknya tim senam OceDM pada setiap 6 desa, senam selalu dilaksanakan penderita DM walaupun kegiatan sudah selesai. Terjadi penurunan nilai glukosa darah sebelum dan sesudah melakukan senam OceDM dan terbentuknya kader senam OceDM yang dapat menjadi promotor hidup sehat bersama diabetes militus. Kata Kunci: Diabetes Melitus, Senam OceDM, Glukosa Darah ABSTRACT Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is characterized by high blood glucose levels accompanied by impaired carbohydrate, lipid, and protein metabolism as a result of insulin function insufficiency. The increase in DM is based on an unhealthy lifestyle, consuming lots of fatty foods, lack of physical activity, so blood glucose levels are not controlled. Diabetes gymnastics is a low impact and rhythmic aerobic, useful for lowering blood glucose levels and preventing obesity, and suppressing complications. To mobilize people to live healthily and actively prevent DM through OceDM exercise activities in Pondok Kelapa District, Central Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province. The method of activity is lecture, practice, discussion, and participatory. The results of the activity showed the formation of an OceDM gymnastics team in every six villages, and gymnastics was always carried out by DM patients even though the activities had been completed. There was a decrease in blood glucose values before and after doing OceDM exercise and the formation of OceDM gymnastics cadres who could be promoters of healthy living with diabetes mellitus. Keywords: Diabetes Mellitus, OceDM Gymnastics, Blood Glucose

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease known as the silent killer and the parent of hypertension, heart and blood vessel disease, stroke, kidney failure, and blindness. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between food intake, cholesterol levels and blood sugar levels in Bengkulu City. Analytical observational research design with a cross sectional approach. The research was carried out in the working area of the Telaga Dewa Health Center, Bengkulu City. The time of the study was carried out in August–November 2020. The study population was adult women aged 25-65 years. Sampling by random sampling with cluster sampling method amounted to 125 people. Univariate and bivariate data analysis with Spearman correlation test. The results showed that the average age of the respondents was 44 years, the average body mass index was 25.6, the median fasting blood sugar level of 90 was at least 51 and the maximum was 357, food intake (carbohydrates, fiber) was still below the nutritional adequacy rate and the median cholesterol level. 194 mg/dl minimum 106 and maximum 104. There is no relationship between food intake, cholesterol levels and blood sugar levels. There is a relationship between age and fasting blood sugar levels of adult women in Bengkulu City.

Abstract

Usia balita merupakan usia dimana seseorang mengalami proses pertumbuh dan perkembangan yang sangat pesat. Golden Age merupakan masa yang sangat penting untuk memperhatikan tumbuh kembang anak secara cermat agar sedini mungkin dapat terdeteksi apabila terjadi kelainan. Stunting dipengaruhi oleh kurangnya gizi kronis disebabkan asupan gizi yang kurang dalam waktu lama. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui Hubungan Asupan Protein Dan Zat Gizi Mikro Dengan Kejadian Anak Stunting Usia 3-5 Tahun Di Wilayah Puskesmas Padang Serai Kota Bengkulu Tahun 2019. Desain penelitian ini digunakan deskriptif analitik dengan menggunakan pendekatan Cross-sectional. Dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 72 orang. Analisis statistik menggunakan uji chi square. Hasil penelitian didapatkan ada hubungan yang bermakna antara hubungan asupan protein (p=0,002), ada hubungan yang bermakna antara asupan vitamin A (p=0,000), ada hubungan yang bermakna antara asupan zat besi (p=0,001), ada hubungan yang bermakna antara asupan zink (p=0,001) dengan kejadian anak stunting usia 3-5 tahun di wilayah Puskesmas Padang Serai Kota Bengkulu Tahun 2019. Sebaiknya orang tua lebih memperhatikan asupan zat gizi yang dapat mendukung pertumbuhan anak seperti sumber asupan protein, vitamin A, zat besi dan zink. Selain itu untuk puskesmas perlunya digiatkan kembali kegiatan rutin diposyandu seperti penyuluhan tentang gizi stunting atau tumbuh kembang anak dan melakukan pengukuran tinggi badan sehingga dapat mengurangi kejadian stunting pada anak berdasarkan indeks TB/U.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Menyusui merupakan aspek yang sangat penting untuk kelangsungan hidup bayi guna mencapai tumbuh kembang bayi dan anak yang optimal sekaligus mempertahankan kesehatan ibu setelah bersalin. Sejak lahir, bayi hanya diberi ASI saja hingga usia 6 bulan. Peran ibu sangat penting dalam pemberian ASI kepada anak bawah dua tahun.  Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah melakukan pemberdayaan kelompok pendukung Air Susu Ibu (KP-ASI) kader SAHABAT dalam upaya peningkatan pemberian ASI eksklusif di Desa Pondok Kelapa Kabupaten Bengkulu Tengah. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelaksanan kegiatan Pengembangan Desa Mitra SAHABAT di Desa Pondok Kelapa Kabupaten Bengkulu Tengah adalah Model Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) yaitu menekankan keterlibatan kader dan masyarakat dalam keseluruhan kegiatan mulai dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi program kegiatan dan menempatkan masyarakat sebagai pengambilan keputusan dan bertanggung jawab atas kegiatan yang dilakukan. Sasaran  pengabdian masyarakat adalah kader berjumlah 20 orang, wanita usia subur (WUS), ibu hamil (Bumil) dan Ibu menyusui di Desa Pondok Kelapa Kabupaten Bengkulu Tengah. Jenis luaran yang dihasilkan pada kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat adalah modul KP-ASI SAHABAT terkait dengan pemberian ASI eksklusif, buku pencatatan pendampingan KP ASI SAHABAT dan berbagai teknologi tepat guna yang dapat digunakan masyarakat seperti media yang sudah diberikan. Hasil dan luaran yang dicapai yaitu: Pembentukan KP-ASI kader SAHABAT, pelatihan KP-ASI kader SAHABAT, pendampingan WUS, ibu hamil dan Ibu menyusui, monitoring dan evaluasi pendampingan yang dilakukan KP ASI kader SAHABAT pada WUS, Bumil dan ibu menyusui di Desa Pondok Kelapa Kabupaten Bengkulu Tengah dan tersedia Pojok Laktasi di lokasi Posyandu. Perlu adanya sosialisasi kegiatan KP ASI yang telah berjalan dengan melibatkan lintas sektor terkait seperti tim pengerak PKK Desa Pondok Kelapa untuk program kesehatan ibu dan anak, sehingga kegiatan mendapatkan dukungan untuk keberlanjutan. Kata Kunci: KP-ASI, Eksklusif, Kader      ABSTRACT Breastfeeding is a very important aspect for the survival of infants in order toachieve optimal growth and development of infants and children while maintaining maternal health after childbirth. From birth, babies are only given breast milk (ASI) until the age of 6 months. The mother role is very important in breastfeeding children under two years of age. Mothers who received support in breastfeeding mostly exclusively breastfed. The purpose of this activity was to empower the breastfeeding support group (KP-ASI) of SAHABAT cadres to increase exclusive breastfeeding in Pondok Kelapa Village, Central Bengkulu Regency. The method used in implementing the SAHABAT Partner Village Development activities in Pondok Kelapa Village, Central Bengkulu Regency was the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) model, which emphasizes the involvement of cadres and the community in all activities started from planning, implementing and evaluating activity programs and placing the community as decision-making and responsible for the activities carried out. The target of community service was 20 cadres, women fertile (WUS), pregnant women (Bumil) and breastfeeding mothers in Pondok Kelapa Village, Central Bengkulu Regency. The types of outputs produced in community service activities were the KP-ASI SAHABAT module related to exclusive breastfed, the recording book for KP ASI SAHABAT assistance and various appropriate technologies that can be used by the community such as the media that has been provided. The results and outputs achieved were: Establishment of KP-ASI SAHABAT cadres, training of KP-ASI for SAHABAT cadres, assistance for WUS, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers carried out, monitoring and evaluation of assistance carried out by KP ASI for SAHABAT cadres at WUS, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers, and a Lactation Corner at the Posyandu. it is necessary to socialize the activities of KP ASI that have been carried out by involving relevant cross-sectoral such as Pondok Kelapa Village PKK mobilization team for maternal and child health programs so that the activities receive support for sustainability. Keywords: KP ASI, Exclusive, Cadre

Abstract

Background: The nutritional status of adolescents has a very big influence in realizing quality human resources in the future. Nutritional status is the state of the body which is an illustration of what is eaten daily. Objective: This study was to determine the description of energy intake, macronutrients and nutritional status of adolescents in SMP N 14 Bengkulu City. Methods: This is a descriptive study conducted in May 2022 with a sample of 69 people, the sampling technique used is the simple random sampling method. Nutrient intake using food recall 3 x 24 hours and then the data is processed by the nutrisurvey program, data analysis is univariate. Results: The study showed that the nutritional status of adolescents was not malnourished, undernourished 6 people (8.7%), good nutrition 50 people (72.5%), over nutrition 9 people (13%) and obesity 4 people (5.8 %). The energy intake of adolescents in the mild deficit category was 21 people (30.43%), the most protein was in the normal category, 31 people (44.93%), the most fat was in the more category, 32 people (46.4%) and the most carbohydrates were in the heavy deficit category, 61 people. (88.41%).

Abstract

Background: Traditional food is the most potent food to develop and is an essential component in intervention strategy for increasing toddler daily consumption. Traditional food contributes to micro-nutrition and protein, which are needed for toddler growth. Objectives: This research aimed to identify traditional food and toddlers' traditional food consumption in coastal families in three ethnicity in Bengkulu. Methods: This research used a cross-sectional design. Samples were mothers as food givers in the family, and the analysis unit was the toddler, in a total of 115, picked randomly from 137 households with 12-59 months old toddlers. Data was collected using quantitative and qualitative techniques, in-depth interviews, and food recall forms. Traditional food identification comes from FFQ (Food Frequency Questionnaire). Consumption of toddler fisherman family data that had been collected and compared with RDA 2019. Analyses were done by formulating the results from the in-depth interview and uni variate analysis.  Results: Traditional food contribution to fisherman's toddler contained 19.34% energy, 40.86% protein, 17.65% fat, 17.65% carbohydrate, 16,3% PUFA fat acid, and 13.8% MUFA. Many different traditional foods often consumed by Melayu, Serawai, and Minang ethics in coastal families could be classified as fish, vegetables, and snacks. Conclusions: Traditional food contribution could fulfill nutritional needs of energy and macro-nutrients ranging from 17-41%. We must increase traditional food consumption in coastal families by varying processing so that each ethnicity's distinctive taste in traditional food can be maintained.

Abstract

Background: Breastfeeding coverage in the Bengkulu ranks second lowest (68.9%) in Indonesia. The husband is the closest person mother who can support successful breastfeeding up to 2 years. This study aimed to examine the effect of husband support on the duration of breastfeeding. Subjects and Method: This was a cross sectional study. A sample of 44 fathers who had children aged 2-3 years in Lingkar Barat community health center, Bengkulu, was selected for this study. The dependent variable was breast­feeding duration. The independent variable was informational support, assessment support, instrumental support and emotional support. Data collection using a valid and reliable questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression. Results: The results showed the informational support (b= 0.37; 95% CI= -0.07 to 0.75; p= 0.046), apprisial support (b= 0.29; 95% CI= -0.39 to 0.98; p= 0.393), and instrumental support (b= 0.43; 95% CI= -0.18 to 1.05; p= 0.161) were positively associated with the duration of breastfeeding. Emotional support was negatively associated with the duration of breastfeeding (b= -0.37; 95% CI= -1.03 to 0.29; p= 0.252). Conclusion: Husband's support is associated with length of breastfeeding.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Masyarakat khususnya para ibu pada dasarnya belum memiliki pengetahuan akan pentingnya pemberian gizi pada anak dan belum mengaplikasikan pengetahuannya dalam hal pemberian makanan pada anak balita. Berdasarkan informasi dari kader, makanan yang disiapkan cenderung monoton tanpa variasi yang menarik dan tanpa memperhatikan perbedaan kebutuhan balita tersebut. Kader mendorong ibu balita dalam membuat menu kreatif dan inovatif sesuai dengan ketersediaan pangan lokal disekitarnya. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah melakukan edukasi dan pelatihan kepada kader posyandu dan ibu balita dalam upaya peningkatan gizi balita di Desa Panca Mukti Kecamatan Pondok Kelapa Kabupaten Bengkulu Tengah tahun 2022. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelaksanan kegiatan Pengembangan Desa Mitra adalah model Development (CD) dengan pendekatan Persuasif  dan Edukatif.  Hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan ibu balita setelah diberikan pelatihan tentang pemberian ASI eksklusif dan Makanan Pendamping Air Susu Ibu (MP-ASI) dengan rata-rata hasil post test 82,61, meningkat dari pre test yang sebelumnya 79,13. Perlu dilaksanakan kegiatan rutin terkait pemberian makan bayi dan anak untuk mendukung peningkatan status gizi balita di Desa Panca Mukti seperti penyuluhan mengenai berbagai macam bahan pangan lokal dan praktek pengolahan bahan makanan lokal tersebut menjadi menu makanan balita. Kata Kunci: Keterampilan, Pemenuhan Gizi, Balita  ABSTRACT The community, especially mothers, basically do not have knowledge of the importance of providing children nutrition and have not applied their knowledge in terms of feeding children. Based on information from cadres, the food prepared tends to be monotonous without interesting variations and without paying attention to the different needs of these toddlers. Cadres encourage mothers with toddlers to make creative and innovative menu  based on the availability of local food. The aim of this activity was to educate and trained posyandu cadres and mothers of toddlers to improve toddler nutrition in Panca Mukti Village, Pondok Kelapa District, Central Bengkulu Regency in 2022. The method used in this activity was the Development model with a Persuasive approach and Educative. The results of community service showed that there was an increased in the knowledge of toddler mothers being given training on exclusive breastfeeding and Complementary Food for Breast Milk (MP-ASI) with an average post-test result of 82.61, an increased from the previous pre-test of 79.13.It was necessary to carry out routine activities related to child feeding to support the improvement of the nutritional status of toddlers in Panca Mukti Village such as counseling on various kinds of local food ingredients and the practice of processing these local food ingredients into a toddler food menu. Keywords: Skills, Fulfillment of Nutrition, Toddlers
