Abstract

This research aims to look at the impact and learning outcomes of using LMS and online learning platforms, so it is necessary to analyze learning outcomes and how they impact students, lecturers, and learning organizing institutions. This research shows that the LMS and online learning platforms used can improve student learning outcomes, which cannot be separated from the readiness of lecturers and students to implement it. This research used factor analysis (CFA), with a total of 150 respondents, students, and 15 lecturers. The impact provided by the use of LMS and online platforms in online learning is in the form of GPA and students' views on the learning process they have gone through. From the research results, several findings were obtained, including the ability to use LMS in online learning is not optimal, the GPA of learning outcomes is relatively high, and the readiness of lecturers and students to use LMS in online learning is still low.

Abstract

Characteristics of chemical materials are (1) Abstract, (2) Complex and multidisciplinary, (3). Involves analytical arithmetic operations. The transition from high school to university level is a learning process that is quite difficult if it is not accompanied by the right understanding. Understanding the concept of chemical materials obtained from high school, when studied at the university level, different meanings are obtained. This different understanding is what we often call misconceptions. Therefore, to find out the misconceptions that occur in students is a necessity and need for lecturers or teachers, so that they can be used as guidelines and guidance to deal with these misconceptions. This study was conducted to identify the percentage level of difficulty and general chemistry misconceptions for students of mathematics education at the University of HKBP Nommensen, using a random sampling technique. This research was carried out in 5 stages, namely (1). Creating a four-tier test diagnostic instrument; (2) Judgment of instruments by experts; (3) Data collection and interviews (4). Data processing and analysis, (5). Conclusion. Based on the results of data analysis and identification results in this study, the category of student conceptions in the Acid-Base solution material is the percentage of students who experience several categories of conception, namely understanding concepts, understanding partially, misconceptions, not understanding concepts and cannot be coded. The percentage of these categories is as follows; 24% of students fall into the category of understanding concepts, 32% of students fall into the category of partial understanding, 11% of students fall into the category of misconceptions, 30% of students fall into the category of not understanding concepts and 2% of students fall into the category of not being able to code, which means that not all students answered all the questions in the four-tier diagnostic test instrument. There are 2% who did not answer the four-tier diagnostic test.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) Untuk mengetahui Pengaruh kemandirian belajar terhadap kemampuan numerasi peserta didik pada materi fungsi kuadrat di kelas X SMA Swasta Katolik Mariana, (2) Untuk mengetahui Pengaruh minat belajar terhadap kemampuan numerasi peserta didik pada materi fungsi kuadrat di kelas X SMA Swasta Katolik Mariana, (3) Untuk mengetahui Pengaruh kemandirian belajar dan minat belajar terhadap kemampuan numerasi peserta didik pada materi fungsi kuadrat di kelas X SMA Swasta Katolik Mariana. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan pendekatan penelitian asosiatif (kausalitas atau pengaruh) dan menggunakan olah data SPSS versi 30.00 dengan menitikberatkan pada korelasi pengaruh dengan menggunakan analisis statistik regresi linier berganda. Dengan populasi penelitian yaitu seluruh peserta didik kelas X SMA Swasta Katolik Mariana T.A 2024/2025. Dengan teknik non probability sample yang menggunakan purposive sampling. Sampel yang diambil adalah kelas X.1 SMA Swasta Katolik Mariana T.A 2024/2025 berjumlah 30 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket dan tes.Berdasarkan Hasil pada penelitian ini adalah (1) Terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan antara kemandirian belajar terhadap kemampuan numerasi peserta didik pada materi fungsi kuadrat dengan hasil statistiknya yaitu koefisien regresinya 0,663 dengan hasil uji t sebesar 10,261 dan mempunyai tingkat signifikansi < 0,001 (α < 0,05). Dengan demikian hipotesis tersebut di terima. (2) Terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan antara minat belajar terhadap kemampuan numerasi peserta didik pada materi fungsi kuadrat dengan hasil statistiknya yaitu koefisien regresinya adalah 0,270 dengan hasil uji t dengan nilai 7,705 dan mempunyai tingkat signifikansi < 0,001 (α < 0,05). Dengan demikian hipotesis tersebut di terima, (3) Terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan antara kemandirian belajar dan minat belajar terhadap kemampuan numerasi peserta didik pada materi fungsi kuadrat dengan hasil uji statistiknya yaitu koefisien regresinya adalah 36,853 dengan hasil uji t dengan nilai 9,067 dan mempunyai tingkat signifikansi < 0,001 (α < 0,05). Dengan demikian hipotesis tersebut dapat diterima

Abstract

Bullying merupakan permasalahan serius di lingkungan sekolah yang dapat berdampak negatif terhadap perkembangan psikologis dan sosial peserta didik. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menanggulangi aksi bullying di SMA Swasta GBKP Berastagi melalui pendekatan edukasi, relasi, dan sosialisasi. Metode yang digunakan mencakup seminar interaktif, pelatihan empati, serta pendampingan bagi siswa, guru, dan orang tua. Kegiatan ini dirancang untuk meningkatkan pemahaman tentang dampak bullying serta membangun lingkungan sekolah yang lebih inklusif dan suportif. Hasil dari program ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kesadaran dan keterlibatan seluruh elemen sekolah dalam upaya pencegahan bullying. Dengan demikian, kolaborasi yang efektif melalui edukasi, relasi, dan sosialisasi terbukti menjadi langkah strategis dalam menciptakan lingkungan sekolah yang aman dan bebas dari bullying.

Abstract

Student competence in conducting final research projects and supervisor competence in mentoring research are critical aspects that need enhancement. This study aimed to analyze the competence of supervisors and students in the methodology of mathematics education research. The research was part of a broader effort to enhance the quality of mathematics education research outcomes at the higher education level. The research methodology employs descriptive analysis, with respondents comprising supervisors and students engaged in thesis research within mathematics education programs. The findings revealed that supervisors' competence in research methodology remains suboptimal. The highest competence areas include understanding instrument validity and reliability, research hypothesis formulation, and collaborative research skills, with an average achievement rate of 66.7%. Similarly, students' understanding and application of research methodology are also insufficient, with the highest competence observed in differentiating between quantitative and qualitative research at 83.25%. Factors influencing research methodology competence for both supervisors and students were identified. These include a basic understanding of research (34.4%) and, notably, the lowest level of competence in sampling techniques (25.8%). The results highlight the need for further studies aimed at enhancing and refining research methodology competencies in mathematics education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Discovery Learning terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis dan self-efficacy peserta didik kelas X SMK Negeri 6 Medan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah quasi experiment dengan post-test only control group design dengan sampel penelitian dua kelas menjadi kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol berjumlah 64 siswa, dengan teknik random sampling. Kelas eksperimen diajarkan dengan model Discovery Learning dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensial. Instrumen yang digunakan tes kemampuan representasi matematis dan angket self-efficacy. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa nilai signifikansi (Sig.2-tailed) sebesar 0,003 < 0,05 dan nilai signifikansi (Sig.2-tailed) self-efficacy peserta didik sebesar 0,004 < 0,05 pada taraf signifikan 5 % yang menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh model Discovery Learning terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis pada materi sistem pertidaksamaan linear dua variabel di kelas X. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh model Discovery Learning terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis sebesar 0,739 dan self-efficacy peserta didik sebesar 0,723.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of problem-based learning on students' conceptual understanding and mathematical problem solving abilities on quadratic function material at SMK Negeri 5 Medan 2024/2025. The type of research used is quantitative descriptive. The research population was all class X, and the research sample consisted of 65 class X students. The sampling technique was carried out using purposive sampling technique. The instruments used were tests, questionnaires and observation sheets. Hypothesis testing in this study used t-test and descriptive test. The results of the study showed that: (1) problem-based learning has an effect on conceptual understanding abilities, (2) the magnitude of the influence of problem-based learning on students' conceptual understanding abilities is 89.2%, (3) problem-based learning has an effect on mathematical problem solving abilities, (4) the magnitude of the influence of problem-based learning on problem solving abilities is 69.0%, (5) problem-based learning on students' conceptual understanding abilities is effective, (6) problem-based learning on problem solving abilities are effective.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disorder marked by hyperglycemia and β-cell damage. Standard therapies like metformin reduce blood glucose but rarely restore pancreatic structure. Bischofia javanica leaves, rich in flavonoids and phenolics, have traditional antidiabetic use with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory potential. This study evaluated the effects of nanoherbal B. javanica on pancreatic histopathology in streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats. Thirty male Wistar rats were divided into six groups: negative control (KN), positive control (KP), metformin 150 mg/kg BW (KS), and nanoherbal B. javanica at 50 mg/kg BW (P1), 100 mg/kg BW (P2), and 200 mg/kg BW (P3). Pancreatic tissues were examined using hematoxylin-eosin staining and analyzed with the Pancreatic Injury Severity Score (ISS). Results showed that KP developed severe damage with the highest ISS (2.86), characterized by islet shrinkage, β-cell degeneration, insulitis, fibrosis, and vascular abnormalities. KS showed moderate improvement (ISS 1.71), while nanoherbal treatment groups exhibited dose-dependent recovery. P3 (200 mg/kg BW) achieved near-normal morphology with the lowest ISS (0.71), demonstrating superior effects compared to KS. These findings suggest that nanoherbal B. javanica protects and regenerates pancreatic β-cells through antioxidant and anti-inflammatory mechanisms, while nanoformulation enhances bioavailability and therapeutic efficacy of its active compounds.

Abstract

Science inherently involves a process of reasoning, fostering honest, objective, critical, systematic, and creative attitudes, and shaping one's character and thought patterns to support informed conclusion-making. The Deep Dialogue/Critical Thinking (DD/CT) learning model is considered innovative as it encourages student activeness in the learning process by prompting them to seek knowledge and discover concepts, often leveraging technology to maximize interaction. This study investigated the impact of the DD/CT learning model on the mathematical reasoning ability of tenth-grade students at FKIP Universitas HKBP Nommensen. This research employed a quantitative approach, utilizing a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design that involved both experimental and control classes. The research instruments underwent validity, reliability, discrimination, and difficulty testing, and the data met the prerequisites for normality and homogeneity. An independent t-test (α = 0.05) yielded a p-value of 0.004, indicating a statistically significant difference between the groups. Therefore, the DD/CT model has a positive effect on students’ mathematical reasoning skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kemampuan literasi numerasi peserta didik kelas VIII pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel dengan menggunakan LKPD berbasis Problem Based Learning dan kemampuan literasi numerasi dengan menggunkaan pembelajaran konvensional, serta adakah perbedaan kemampuan literasi numerasi peserta didik pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel dengan menggunaan LKPD berbasis Problem Based Learning dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif, sedangkan metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen. Desain dalam penelitian ini adalah Posttest-Only Control Design, pada desain subjek dipilih secara simple random sampling dan diperoleh sampel penelitian kelas eksperimen di kelas VIII C dan kelas kontrol di kelas VIII B. Pengumpulan data dalam peneltian ini dilakukan dengan tes. Setelah data terkumpul, selanjutnya di analisis secara kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan literasi numerasi peserta didik pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel dengan menggunakan LKPD berbasis Problem Based Learning termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik dengan rata-rata 84,33 dan kemampuan literasi numerasi peserta didik pada pembelajaran konvensional termasuk kategori baik dengan rata-rata 75. Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan literasi numerasi peserta didik pada pembelajaran menggunakan LKPD berbasis Problem Based Learning dengan pembelajaran konvensional.
