Abstract

Tomato production in West Kalimantan has decreased, but demand is increasing every year. One of the efforts that can be made to increase tomato production is the use of Ultisol soil, however, the use of this soil faces problems with soil characteristics which can inhibit plant growth if not managed properly. This research aims to determine the effect of applying rice husk charcoal and cow manure on the availability of N, P, K nutrients and the growth of cherry tomato plants in Ultisol soil. This research used a two-factor experimental method arranged in a factorial completely randomized design (CRD). First factor is rice husk charcoal (A) which consists of 3 treatment levels, namely treatment without rice husk charcoal (A0), 17 tons/ha of rice husk charcoal (A1), and 34 tons/ha (A2). Second factor is cow manure (P) which consists of 3 levels of treatment, namely without cow manure (P0), 25 tons/ha of cow drum fertilizer (P1), and 50 tons/ha (P2). The experiment was repeated 3 times so that there were 27 experimental units. The results of the research can be concluded that the application of rice husk charcoal and cow manure to the A2P2 treatment can increase soil pH by 17%, soil organic C by 86%, and soil nutrient availability (N, P, and K) by 75%-342%, Providing rice husk charcoal and cow manure in the A1P2 treatment can increase the growth parameters of cherry tomato plants by 101%-262%. The combination of rice husk charcoal and cow manure treatment interacts with the parameters of soil pH, soil available phosphorus, and plant height.    ABSTRAKProduksi tomat di Kalimantan Barat mengalami penurunan, namun permintaan semakin meningkat setiap tahunnya. Satu diantara upaya yang dapat dilakuan untuk meningkatkan produksi tomat adalah pemanfaatan tanah Ultisol, namun demikian pemanfaatan tanah ini menghadapi kendala karakteristik tanah yang dapat menghambat pertumbuhan tanaman bila tidak dikelola dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian arang sekam padi dan pupuk kandang sapi terhadap ketersediaan hara N, P, K, dan pertumbuhan tanaman tomat ceri di tanah Ultisol. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dua faktor yang disusun dalam rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) faktorial. Faktor pertama adalah arang sekam padi (A) yang terdiri dari 3 taraf perlakuan yaitu perlakuan tanpa arang sekam padi (A0 ­), arang sekam padi 17 ton/ha (A1), dan 34 ton/ha (A2). Faktor kedua adalah pupuk kandang sapi (P) yang terdiri dari 3 taraf perlakuan yaitu tanpa pupuk kandang sapi (P0), pupuk kandang sapi 25 ton/ha (P1), dan 50 ton/ha (P2). Percobaan diulang sebanyak 3 kali sehingga terdapat 27 unit percobaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian arang sekam padi dan pupuk kandang sapi pada perlakuan A2P2 dapat meningkatkan pH tanah sebesar 17%, C-organik tanah sebesar 86%, dan ketersediaan hara tanah (N, P, dan K) sebesar 75%-342%, Pemberian arang sekam padi dan pupuk kandang sapi pada perlakuan A1P2 dapat meningkatkan parameter pertumbuhan tanaman tomat ceri sebesar 101%-262%.   Kombinasi perlakuan arang sekam padi dan pupuk kandang sapi berinteraksi terhadap parameter pH tanah, fosfor tersedia tanah, dan tinggi tanaman.

Abstract

 AbstrakSebaran tanah Alluvial di Indonesia yang sebagian besarnya banyak dijumpai terutama di Kalimantan Barat. Tanah Alluvial menjadi sebuah pilihan dalam memberdayakan lahan marjinal akibat berkurangnya lahan produktif untuk pertanian. Produksi cabai rawit dalam waktu 3 tahun terakhir di Kalimantan Barat menurut data mengalami peningkatan, untuk mempertahankan dan mencapai produksi kualitas hasil tanaman yang tinggi perlu adanya usaha intensifikasi pertanian satu diantaranya pemberian pupuk organik. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian tepung cangkang telur dan pupuk kandang ayam terhadap serapan hara N, P, K tanaman cabai rawit pada tanah alluvial. Penelitian merupakan percobaan lapangan yang menggunakan pola rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) 2 faktor, faktor pertama pemberian tepung cangkang telur (C) dan faktor kedua pemberian pupuk kandang ayam (K) yang terdiri dari 9 perlakuan dengan 3 kali ulangan sehingga terdapat 27 sampel tanaman cabai rawit. Perlakuan faktor pertama C0 (kontrol), C1= 80 gram/polibag (3,2 ton/ha), C2= 160 gram/polibag (6,4 ton/ha), faktor kedua K (control), K1= 500 gram/polibag (20 ton/ha), K2= 1000 gram/polibag (40 ton/ha). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian berbagai dosis tepung cangkang telur dan pupuk kandang ayam menunjukkan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap serapan hara tanaman. Interaksi perlakuan C1K2 (tepung cangkang telur 80 gram/polybag dan pupuk kandang ayam 1000 gram/polibag) dapat meningkatkan berat kering bagian atas tanaman, serapan nitrogen dan serapan fosfor bagian atas tanaman cabai rawit.Kata kunci: Alluvial, cabai rawit, tepung cangkang telur, pupuk kandang ayam, serapan NPK.

Abstract

Tanaman Okra (Abelmoschus Esculentus L. Moench) merupakan tanaman sayuran dan berasal dari Afrika Barat tanaman ini memasuki Indonesia tahun 1877 di Kalimantan Barat (Setiawan, 2018). Tanah gambut dihadapkan pada masalah kemasaman tanah dan unsur hara rendah. Alternatif mengatasinya dengan pemberian pupuk kandang ayam untuk menambah unsur hara tanah gambut. Tujuan penelitian ini menentukan dosis pemberian pupuk kandang ayam terhadap ketersediaan hara N,P,K dan pertumbuhan tanaman okra pada tanah gambut. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 1 faktor dan 8 taraf perlakuan pupuk kandang ayam sehingga ada 24 unit percobaan yaitu A0(tanpa perlakuan), A1(400g/polybag atau setara 20 ton/ha), A2(800g/polybag atau setara 40 ton/ha), A3(1.200g/polybag atau setara 60 ton/ha), A4(1600g/polybag atau setara 80 ton/ha), A5(2000g/polybag atau setara 100 ton/ha), A6(2.400g/polybag atau setara 120 ton/ha), A7(2.800g/polybag atau setara 140 ton/ha). Variabel diamati dalam penelitian yaitu pH, C-organik, N-Total, P-Tersedia , K-Tersedia, tinggi tanaman dan diameter batang tanaman. Pemberian pupuk kandang ayam tidak memiliki pengaruh nyata pada tinggi tanaman, namun berpengaruh nyata terhadap pH, C-organik, N-Total, P-Tersedia, K-Tersedia dan diameter tanaman. perlakuan pupuk kandang ayam A3 dapat meningkatkan N-total 32,5 %, P tersedia 23,3 %, K-dd tanah sebesar 5,49 % dan meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman okra diameter batang sebesar 0,92% dan tinggi tanaman 22,9%.

Abstract

Cadmium (Cd) is a heavy metal that can contaminate agricultural soils, in which one of the sources of Cd in agricultural soils is the use of phosphate fertilizers. Some plant species are known to have the ability to accumulate large amounts of Cd in their organs despite the Cd content in soil is relatively small. Cadmium distribution in various organs of plants also shows a diverse variation. Maize is able to accumulate Cd in its organs, either in roots, leaves or grains. This study aims to determine the distribution of Cd in sweet corn plants grown on a peat soil. Samples of maize plants were taken from nine maize fields in the village of Rasau Jaya 1, Rasau Jaya subdistrict, Kubu Raya district, West Kalimantan. The cultivars of sweet corn planted were Zea mays saccharata cultivar Bonanza and Zea mays saccharata cultivar Secada. Samples for roots, leaves, stems and panicles were taken at the stage of early grain filling. Grain samples were taken at the phase of fresh pod consumption. The Cd contents in the plant organ tissues were determined using dry ashing method. The  results showed that the distribution of Cd in plant organs of sweet corn cultivars Secada and Bonanza follows the pattern of Cd in leaves > roots > grains > panicles > stems. The leaves contain the highest concentration of Cd, while the stems contain the lowest amount of Cd. The Cd concentration in leaves is about 3.5 times higher than that in grains, and 1.5 times higher than that in roots. The average Cd content in grains of sweet corn  is 0.037 mg kg-1, which is still below the safe limit of Cd content in grains allowed by the Standar Nasional Indonesia, i.e. 0.2 mg kg-1.

Abstract

Peatland in Indonesia has a potential for maize cultivation, but it has constraints that low of soil pH and of nutrient availability. Use of ameliorants from coastal sediment and salted fish waste was an alternative to improve peatlands productivity and maize yields. Objective of the study was to examine effects of coastal sediment and salted fish waste on growth and yield of maize at three kinds of soil of peatlands of Kubu Raya, West Kalimantan. This research was conducted  in  field  using  Inter-area analysis  design.  The  first  factor  was  combination  of  each ameliorants  which consisted of 5 levels, namely: 1) treatment under farmer custom at the sites (control); 2) coastal sediment of 20 Mg ha-1 + 0.75 Mg of salted fish waste ha-1; 3) coastal sediment of 40 Mg ha-1 + 1.5 Mg of salted fish waste ha-1, 4) coastal sediment of 60 Mg ha-1 + 2.25 Mg of salted fish waste  ha-1. The second factor was soil types which consisted of three levels, namely: Typic Haplohemists, Typic Sulfisaprists and Typic Haplosaprists. Each treatment was repeated 5 times. The results showed that combination of 40 Mg ha-1 of coastal sediment and 1.5 Mg ha-1 of salted fish waste was the best combination for all soil type. It increased plant height (33% - 44%), shoot dry weight (74% - 75%), number of seeds per cob (31% -110%), weight of 100 seeds (58% -71%) and dry grain weight per plant (136 % -160 %) at each soil. The highest yield was found in soil of Typic Haplosaprists (219.54 g), followed by Typic Sulfisaprists (210.72 g) and Typic Haplohemists (208.82 g).Keywords: Coastal sediment, maize, peat soils, salted fish waste [How to Cite: Denah S, BH Sunarminto, D Shiddieq and D Indradewa. 2014. Abstract

Pelaksanaan PKM ini bertujuan untuk memberi penyuluhan dan praktik pengolahan tanah yang benar kepada petani padi, di lahan sawah tanah hujan, di Desa Saing Rambi, Kabupaten Sambas. Pengolahan tanah yang benar dipengaruhi oleh kemampuan memahami kondisi lingkungan dengan jenis tanaman yang ingin dibudidayakan. Kesalahan pada pengolahan tanah akan berakibat fatal pada kemampuan pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman yang dibudidayakan. Apalagi banyak kendala yang dihadapi para pembudidaya tanaman pada saat ini seperti penyempitan lahan dan perubahan iklim secara ekstrim, yang akan menyebabkan perubahan dan pengembangan sistem dan cara pengolahan tanah agar menjaga dan meningkatkan kemampuan produksi suatu komoditas ditengah berbagai kendala lingkungan yang saat ini terjadi. Diharapkan setelah kegiatan PKM ini selesai, petani padi dapat melakukan pengolahan tanah yang tepat untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan produksi padi yang lebih optimal.

Abstract

This activity aims to provide solutions to the problems faced by the Dharmaputra Farmers Group on Jl. Budi Utomo, Gg. Dharmaputra1, North Pontianak District, who wants a change in cultivating vegetable crops on peatlands that is more profitable and environmentally friendly through the application of more efficient technology, so that it is hoped that farmer groups can prepare planting media for cultivating vegetable crops. The problems faced by farmer groups are: 1) The productivity of vegetable crops is still relatively low, 2) They do not yet understand how to apply environmentally friendly vegetable cultivation technology by utilizing agricultural waste, 3) The PKM implementing team provides solutions to existing problems, namely through several methods include: 1) Providing training in preparing planting media that is environmentally friendly and can increase soil fertility 2) Providing training in making organic fertilizer using agricultural waste 3) Exposure to technology for cultivating vegetable crops on peatlands. Abstract

Increasing farmers' human resources in evaluating plant nutrients is an important part of increasing plant productivity, family food security and farmer income. Therefore, we researchers, carry out training activities for farming communities. The training was held in the Pal Sembilan village office hall, Sungai Kakap District. Attended by village officials, heads of farmer groups and members of farmer groups, Pal Sembilan village with a total of 30 people. The training was carried out by discussing procedures for visually observing deficiencies and excesses of plant nutrients. Farmers gain knowledge through short lectures, brochures with visual images of plant nutrients, and land management recommendations. Recommendations for improvement on land that has a pH of 4.5 and land conditions that are characterized by oxidized Fe, Al, and Mn are to wash the land first, or rinse the land first from Fe, Al, and Mn poisoning, and the recommended application of dolomite is 2 tons. /ha for land that does not have water management, during the process of increasing soil pH, it is not recommended to use N fertilizer, and spraying fungicides to reduce fungi that previously lived in acidic soil conditions. The extension location has symptoms of potassium deficiency, so it is recommended to provide rice straw to reduce the need for inorganic potassium fertilizer by 70-90%.

Abstract

Peningkatan SDM petani jagung dalam optimalisasi pemupukan merupakan bagian penting dalam peningkatan produksi tanaman jagung, sehingga dapat meingkatkan ketahanan pangan keluarga dan pendapatan petani jagung. Tujuan dari adanya program ini dapat memberi manfaat lebih terhadap kesejahteraan petani dan lingkungan yang sehat melalui Optimalisasi Pemupukan Spesifik. Kegiatan akan dilakukan di lahan pertani jagung mandiri, di Senggang Kelurahan Mayasofa Kecamatan Singkawang Timur Kota Singkawang Provinsi Kalimantan Barat. Metode yang dilakukan berupa penyuluhan identifikasi ketersediaan hara tanaman dan permasalahan non teknis yang perlu dicarikan solusinya dengan melakukan diskusi antar petani dengan akademisi, yang dilakukan langsung di lahan lahan milik petani. Hasil dari pengabdian yang didapatkan terdapat gejala kekurangan nutrisi pada daun jagung di lokasi lahan budidaya tanaman jagung oleh petani sekitar dan perlu dilakukan pemupukan untuk memperbaiki kondisi tersebut.

Abstract

Hybrid corn (Zea mays.) is the main food commodity cultivated after rice. The use of alluvial soil for planting hybrid corn concerns the physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil, because the soil structure is poor, it is massive, low pH, minimal nutrients and C-Organic is soil that has just undergone development and has a high ground water level. The research aims to determine the effect of a combination of red mud and chicken manure on the availability of N, P, K nutrients and the growth of corn plants in Alluvial Soil. This research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 9 treatments, namely, A1(100 g red mud + 1 kg chicken manure), A2(100 g red mud + 2 kg chicken manure), A3(100 g red mud + 3 kg chicken manure), A4(200 g red mud + 1 kg chicken manure), A5(200 g red mud + 2 kg chicken manure), A6(200 g red mud + 3 kg chicken manure), A7(300 g red mud + 1 kg chicken manure), A8(300 g red mud + 2 kg chicken manure), A9(300 g red mud + 3 kg chicken manure). The results of this study showed that treatment, A6 (200 g red mud + 3 kg chicken manure) could increase soil pH, organic carbon, total nitrogen, available phosphorus, and exchangeable potassium, plant height and stem diameter by 25.88% - 112, 78%.
