Abstract

This study aims to analyze the character education values embedded in Banyumulek pottery of Lombok from the perspective of the Pancasila Student Profile and Ethnopedagogy. This research adopts a qualitative approach. Data collection was conducted through relevant literature reviews, observation and interviews. Data analysis employed a inductive-deductive approach. In general, an inductive approach was employed to address the research objectives by interpreting the data and explaining the findings through existing theories and literature; specifically, a deductive approach was utilized to outline the six-dimensional theory and validate its application to Banyumulek pottery. The findings reveal that six dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile are reflected in Banyumulek pottery of Lombok, namely: 1) The Faith dimension, demonstrated through the belanger stage, obedience to Allah SWT.; 2) The Global Diversity dimension, expressed through mutual respect; 3) The Mutual Cooperation dimension, evident in the spirit of helping one anothers; 4) The Independence dimension, reflected in the self-reliance of artisans in creating pottery; 5) The Critical Reasoning dimension, indicated by the persistence in preserving pottery; and 6) The Creativity dimension, seen in the efforts to innovate by creating new pottery designs. This study offers a connection between traditional crafts and the framework of modern education.

Abstract

Perkembangan gerabah pada saat ini lebih banyak ditujukan sebagai benda pajangan atau cenderamata. Beragam kreasi dihasilkan, dan satu hal menarik adalah dimanfaatkannya bahan- bahan alam sebagai ornamen atau hiasan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan ornamen berbasis lingkungan pada gerabah Banyumulek Lombok. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi dan dokumentasi. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposif sampling yaitu gerabah berornamen ramah lingkungan sebanyak lima buah, yaitu ornamen teknik relief, teknik toreh, teknik anyaman, teknik lubang dan teknik mosaik cangkang telur. Ornamen berbasis lingkungan perlu dikembangkan dan dikreasikan lebih lanjut pada gerabah Banyumulek Lombok.

Abstract

Education is the leading force in human life, according to Kant's statement that humans can only become human through education. Humanistic education empowers individuals by fostering intellectual, emotional, and spiritual development. Art education, particularly within this community, serves as a tool to balance these aspects, promoting harmonious personality development. The Padhang Njingglang Community, founded by Anang Prasetyo in Tulungagung in 2008, targets children who are often overly reliant on digital technology and exhibit behavioral issues such as a lack of politeness and reduced engagement in traditional play. The role of the Padhang Njingglang Community is essential in addressing behavioral challenges among Generation Alpha children through humanistic art education. The community employs the "Happy Memory Activation" method, encouraging children to recall and express happy memories through drawing. This method helps children build self-confidence, enhance creativity, develop emotional awareness, and foster positive character traits. Research on this community is necessary because it emphasizes arts education and spiritual aspects, so it needs to be explored further. The study employs a qualitative phenomenology approach, utilizing data from interviews, observations, and children’s artworks to deeply understand the impact of this educational model.  Findings suggest that when combined with humanistic principles, art can be a transformative medium for childhood education, providing emotional and psychological benefits that extend into adulthood. The Padhang Njingglang Community exemplifies how integrating art into education can effectively address the unique challenges of modern childhood, especially in the digital age.

Abstract

Dari mulai diberlakukannya kebijakan bebas visa kunjungan sementara pada tanggal 10 Maret 2016 jumlah kunjungan wisatawan mancanegara mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan. Bebas visa kunjungan sementara ini diatur dalam Peraturan Presiden No.21 tahun 2015, dengan jumlah 169 negara penerima fasilitas bebas visa ini. Kemudahan yang diberikan Pemerintah Indonesia ini memunculkan adanya terhadap Indonesia seperti dampak positif dan dampak negatif. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui, memahami serta mendeskripsikan implikasi dari kebijakan bebas visa kunjungan sementara berdampak di Indonesia. Metode yang di gunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif analisis yaitu penelitian yang berusaha untuk menggambarkan, menguraikan serta mengklarifikasi tentang permasalahan yang berkaitan dengan kebijakan bebas visa kunjungan sementara serta pengaruhnya terhadap Indonesia dengan menganalisa data yang terkait. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini adalah dengan letak geografis wilayah Indonesia yang sangat strategis serta kemudahan yang diberikan bagi beberapa negara penerima fasilitas bebas visa kunjungan sementara ini membuat lalu lintas wisatawan mancanegara yang berkunjung ke Indonesia semakin ramai. Akan tetapi terdapat negara – negara yang termasuk dalam negara yang mendapat bebas visa kunjungan akan tetapi tidak pernah melintas atau melakukan kunjungan wisata ke Indonesia. Fasilitas bebas visa kunjungan sementara yang bertujuan untuk kunjungan wisata banyak disalahgunakan oleh para wisatawan mancanegara ini. berdasarkan Pembahasan yang dimulai dari Bab I hingga Bab III penulis dapat menarik kesimpulan bahwa Pemerintah RI melalui Kementerian Pariwisata menargetkan jumlah wisatawan mancanegara yang datang ke Indonesia pada tahun 2019 sebanyak 20 juta. Berdasarkan data perlintasan orang asing dengan mempergunakan fasilitas bebas visa kunjungan, diketahui bahwa sejak diberlakukannya Peraturan Presiden No.21 Tahun 2016 tentang Bebas Visa Kunjungan, mengalami kenaikan, dengan rincian pada tahun 2017, jumlah kedatangan orang asing ke Indonesia berjumlah 9.789.364 orang apabila dibandingkan dengan tahun 2015 sejumlah 4.952.977 orang maka terdapat kenaikan sebanyak 4.836.387 orang atau 97 %. Seiring dengan meningkatnya jumlah wisatawan asing yang datang, juga membawa peningkatan secara nominal terhadap jumlah pelanggaran yang dilakukan oleh orang asing dari subyek negara bebas visa kunjungan

Abstract

Damar Kurung adalah lampion kayu berbentuk segi empat dengan sudut menyerupai segi tiga di bagian atasnya dan keempat sisinya berhiaskan lukisan. Merupakan akulturasi budaya Jawa, Thionghoa, Arab.. Pembuat Damar Kurung terakhir di Gresik adalah Sriwati Masmundari (Januari 1904 – 25 Desember 2005). Damar kurung pernah diambang kepunahan, namun Tahun 2017 oleh Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan ditetapkan sebagai warisan budaya tak benda (WBTB). Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui estetika kerajinan Damar Kurung dari segi fungsi. Keterkaitan antara seni tradisi dengan tradisi lain sehingga dapat tetap eksis.Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian multidisiplin dengan pendekatan antropologi dan budaya. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Wawancara, 10 sample narasumber masyarakat Gresik, Budayawan komunitas Mata Segar dan 2 Guru di Sekolah Dasar Negeri 4 Petrokimia Gresik dan Taman Kanak-Kanak Insanuz- Ziyan..Teknik analisis data dengan cara reduksi data, mengolah data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Validasi data dengan ketekunan pengamatan dan triangulasi data. Hasil yang didapatkan fungsi awal Damar Kurung adalah sebagai penerang/ lampu, dengan adanya perkembangan zaman maka muncul fungsi lain. Fungsi tersebut: (1) Damar kurung sebagai Ikon Kabupaten Gresik, (2) Damar kurung sebagai fungsi estetik, (3) Kerajinan Damar Kurung Sebagai Identitas Masyarakat Kabupaten Gresik, (4) Damar kurung sebagai fungsi Informasi,(5) Damar kurung sebagai muatan lokal dalam dunia pendidikan. Kata Kunci: Damar kurung, Estetika fungsi, Ikon.

Abstract

This study aims to develop mobile-book teaching materials for the Nusantara Ornaments course, focusing on Toba Batak Gorga as an effort to transform the digital learning ecosystem in higher education. The research employs a research and development (R&D) method using the 4-D model—Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. Data were collected through observations, interviews, document analysis, and questionnaires, and were analyzed using a developmental research approach. Product trials were conducted with Fine Arts students at Universitas Negeri Medan (small group, n = 120) and students at Universitas Negeri Padang, Universitas Negeri Semarang, and Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar (large group, n = 240). Expert validation covered four domains: cultural heritage content, learning media, visual communication design, and language (Indonesian and Toba Batak). In the Define stage, the needs analysis emphasized integrating the philosophy of Gorga with contemporary digital design techniques. The Design stage produced responsive prototypes featuring high-resolution visuals and structured learning flows, while the Develop stage incorporated interactive features to support hybrid learning. Validation results showed an overall average score of 75.85% (“Good” category), consisting of 75.86% from cultural heritage expert I, 73.79% from cultural heritage expert II, 79.14% from the design expert, and 74.61% from the linguist. These findings confirm that the developed mobile book aligns with the 4-D development procedures and meets the criteria of an innovative learning medium that provides flexible access, supports both in-class and out-of-class learning, and promotes cultural preservation by transforming the knowledge of Toba Batak Gorga into accessible digital resources. The dissemination plan includes implementation guidelines for lecturers and a mechanism for continuous improvement informed by cross-cultural learning analytics across universities in Indonesia.

Abstract

Madihin is a traditional Banjarese oral performance art that combines rhythmic improvisation, poetic verses, humor, and the beating of the tarbang (frame drum). More than mere entertainment, Madihin historically functioned as a medium of advice, social commentary, and community bonding. However, in the context of modernization and globalization, both its functions and modes of presentation have been reshaped. This study aims to analyze the continuity and transformation of Madihin by focusing on its changing functions, performance forms, and cultural significance in contemporary society. Employing a qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews with prominent pamadihinan (performers), field observations, and documentation analysis. The findings reveal that Madihin has shifted from its traditional role as a vehicle of moral counsel and communal entertainment to a more diverse medium encompassing education, tourism promotion, and even political communication. Performance innovations such as Madihin hip-hop and Madihin dangdut illustrate how this oral tradition adapts to popular cultural trends while preserving its improvisational core and symbolic values. At the same time, the challenges of regeneration among younger generations highlight the fragile continuity of this art. This research demonstrates that the sustainability of Madihin relies on its capacity for innovation without losing its cultural identity, offering broader insight into how oral performance traditions negotiate relevance, identity, and authenticity in the face of social and cultural change.

Abstract

The Acehnese wedding stage has undergone changes in terms of shape and decoration, which is also accompanied by a shift in its function. This research aims to explore the shifting functions of the Acehnese wedding stage, which is typically used during wedding receptions but is now also employed in several traditional events, serving as an educational medium. The method used in this research is a descriptive-analytical approach with a qualitative orientation. Research data were collected through in-depth interviews with auction business owners and traditional leaders, observation of Acehnese wedding ceremonies, and documentary studies. Data were analyzed through the stages of reduction, data presentation, verification, and conclusion drawing. The research findings identified that there are three main functions of Acehnese wedding stages: first, as a reinforcement of cultural identity in rituals such as circumcision and seven months of pregnancy; second, as a socio-political representation that symbolizes local pride in welcoming guests of honor and other public contexts; and third, as an educational instrument in museums and tourism settings for cultural preservation and transmission. The findings highlight Aceh's cultural resilience by positioning the wedding stage not       only as a passive visual culture but as an active medium that adapts to contemporary realities. These findings form the basis of recommendations for policymakers in designing cultural preservation strategies that are adaptive and contribute significantly to the survival of traditional cultural heritage for future generations.
