Abstract

The objectives of the research are to describe the types of directive speech acts of the teacher and student in learning and explain a pragmatic meaning of directive speech acts in the interaction of teacher and student in class XI MIPA 2 Pondok Pesantren Al-Urwatul Wutsqaa Benteng year of 2020/2021. This research method was a qualitative descriptive method with the purpose of getting an objective description of the teacher and student speech in the interaction of teaching and learning in class XI MIPA 2 Pondok Pesantren Al-Urwatul Wutsqaa Benteng. Data collection techniques usedin this study were uninvolved conversation techniques, recording techniques, and note-taking techniques. The data collection technique was used by researcher togain complete data regarding the types of directive speech acts.The researcher carried out the analysis includes four phases: identification, classification, interpretation, and report. Data gained in this study amounted to 16 speeches. There were 4types ofdirective speech acts from 16 speeches: types of directive speech acts questions, command, request, and prohibition. The pragmatic meaning found as follows: sense ofreminding, directing, commanding, pleading, recommending, and criticizing.

Abstract

The objective of this research were to find out: 1) To find out whether or not the Effectiveness of Intensive daily conversation toward Student Speaking Skills at the Second Semester FKIP Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidrap. 2) To know whether students’ were interested in using Intensive Daily Conversation to improve the speaking skill at the Second Semester FKIP Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidrap. This research employed quantitavive method with used clusster sampling. The population of this research is the second semester; exactly the second semester of FKIP Muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang. The total number of population is 114 students. The samples in this research is from 2A1 consist 37 students. So the total sample of the research is 24 students. The data of the research were collected by using two kinds of instrument, namely speaking test and questionnaire. Speaking test was used to obtain data of the students’ speaking ability and questionnaire was used know the students interest in speaking English through Intensive Daily Conversation. The result of data analysis showed that three was significant difference between the students’ score after they were taught by Intensive Daily Conversation and before they were taught by using Intensive Daily Conversation. It was proved by the mean score of the post-test which was higher than the mean score of pre-test (69.5>32.29). Furthermore, the result of the t-test value (0.0005) was greater than t-table (α = 0.05; df = 11; t-table 1.701) which means that H1 was accepted. Then, the analysis of interest by using Likert Scale indicated that the students were interested to speak English by using Intensive Daily Conversation. Based on data analysis, the research concluded that: (1) the used of Intensive Daily Conversation. Improved students’ speaking ability; (2) the used of Intensive Daily Conversation made the students’ interested in speaking English.

Abstract

This research aims improving students vocabulary mastery by the used of mnemonic technique at seventh grade smp negeri 3 dua pitue kalosi, In this research we use quantitative research methods, quantitative research methods are a process of finding knowledge that uses data in the form of numbers as a tool to analyze information about what the researcher want to know.The population of this research is the seventh grade students of SMP 3 Dua pitue kalosi, The instruments used in this study were pre test and post test. Instrument The research calculate the mean score, find out standard deviation of the test, compute the frequency and the rate percentage of the students’ score and testing the hypothesis of the significant difference between some independent variable by calculating the value of independent t-test use SPSS. the mean score of the students in post-test (65.36) was greater than pre-test (37.93), it means that the students who was teach by using mnemonic technique in teaching vocabulary was improve.

Abstract

The objective of the research was at measuring correlation between student’s mastery vocabulary and speaking skill of the eleventh grade at SMAN 6 Sidrap. Variables of the research were the student’s mastery vocabulary as independent variable (x) and speaking skill as dependent variable (y). In this study, the researcher used correlation design, where the researcher used this design to correlate two variables. The population of this research was all of the eleventh grade (XI2) students of IPA class at SMAN 6 Sidrap and the number of the subject was thirty two students. In collecting the data, the researcher used some test was vocabulary test and interview. In this research, the researcher used cluster sampling technique to chosen classes. The researcher analyzed the data using Pearson Product Moment Correlation and Linear Regression with SPSS 21 program to test the hypothesis. The result of calculation using SPSS 21 program found that the rvalue 0.532 was also higher than rtable at 5% and 1% significant level or 0.349 < 0.532 > 0.449. It could be concluded that alternative hypothesis (H1) stating that there is a significant positive correlation between student’s mastery vocabulary and speaking skill of the eleventh grade at SMAN 6 Sidrap is accepted and null hypothesis (H0) stating there is no a significant positive correlation between student’s mastery vocabulary and speaking skill of eleventh grade at SMAN 6 Sidrap is rejected. The result of calculation of contribution between student’s mastery vocabulary (variable X) gave about 75.33% contribution to the speaking skill (variable Y) of the sample class and 25.66% was influenced by other aspects. Based on the research findings, in is shown that there is a very significant positive correlation between student’s mastery vocabulary and speaking skill of the eleventh grade at SMAN 6 Sidrap. It meant that the student who had lack of vocabulary.

Abstract

This study at Darul Aman Gombara Makassar's border school, Buq'atun Mubarakah High School, aims to evaluate the effect of students' Arabic and English language competency on learning achievement, notably in the areas of the Qur'an and Hadith. The description provided by Imam Ghozali of the procedure for computing analysis data utilizing a multivariate analysis application with the IBM SPSS 25 program, edition 9 (2019). The results showed a link between knowledge of Arabic and English and academic success (as judged by the Qur'an and Hadith), with a significant value of 0.005. H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, indicating that the hypothesis is true if the value is less than 0.05. The Arabic and English Language Ability and Learning Achievement (Qur'an and Hadith) variables are strongly associated with one another or match the necessary criteria, according to the correlation value of 0.512. Abstract

The Interplay Bilingual Approach toward Students Speaking Skills at The Fourth Semester FKIP Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidrap. The objective of this research were to find out: 1) find out whether or not that bilingual approach can interplay speaking skill in EFL learners. 2) Find out the student's interest in learning speaking skills by using a bilingual approach fourth Semester FKIP Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidrap. This research employed quantitavive and qualitative method with used clusster sampling. The population of this research is the fourth semester; exactly the fourth semester of FKIP Muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang. The total number of population is 75 students. The samples in this research is from fourth semester consist 20 students. So the total sample of the research is 20 students. The data of the research were collected by using two kinds of instrument, namely speaking test and questionnaire. Speaking test was used to obtain data of the students’ speaking skill and questionnaire was used know the students interest in speaking English bilingual approach. The result of data analysis showed that three was significant difference between the students’ score after they were taught by Bilingual Approach and before they were taught by using Bilingual Approach. It was proved by the mean score of the post-test which was higher than the mean score of pre-test (68.95>32.29). Furthermore, the result of the t-test value (0.0005) was greater than t-table (α = 0.05; df = 11; t-table 1.701) which means that H1 was accepted. Abstract

This research was conducted to measure the student's ability to understand idiomatic expressions and to find out the student’s difficulty in understanding idiomatic expressions. This research uses the descriptive qualitative method as the research methodology. The population in this study is the fourth-semester students in the English education department, faculty of teacher, training, and education of Muhammadiyah University of Sidenreng Rappang, and the sample in this study is 29 students (4 male students and 25 female) fourth semester, English department, faculties of teacher, training, and education of Muhammadiyah University of Sidenreng Rappang. The data collection methods used in this research are written test, interview, and recorder. A written test was chosen to measure students'' ability to identify idiomatic expressions, interviews were used to find out the student’s difficulty in understanding idiomatic expressions, and the recorder were used to record the interview process and also as data documentation. The data obtained from the test will be processed with a scoring technique and the data obtained from the interview will be processed by the descriptive analysis method. As the result of the study, the written test shows that 2 students categorized on a very good level, 7 on Good, 5 on Average, 3 on Poor, and 3 on very poor, while the interview shows that as many as 62% of respondents have difficulty because they lack vocabulary, 19% of respondents have difficulty understanding idioms based on their language style, and 33% of respondents have difficulty understanding idioms.

Abstract

The study's goals are to 1) determine how guessing games help second-class students improve their English-speaking abilities. 2. To understand the challenges second-class students are having with improving their English-speaking abilities. To illustrate the evolution and challenges encountered in using guessing games, the researcher used descriptive methods and purposive sampling. The results showed that 6 (20%) of the 30 pupils were classed as having very good grades, 12 (40%) as having good grades, 9 (30%) as having average grades, 3 (10%) as having low grades, and none as having very poor grades. It demonstrated that they were very interested in integrating the teaching and learning of English language using a guessing game technique.

Abstract

This study uses qualitative methods as its research methodology. This research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of tourism ambassadors in promoting tourist destinations in Sidrap Regency and to find out the inhibiting factors for tourism ambassadors in promoting tourist destinations in Sidrap Regency. Population in the This research Formerly That student The number of Tourism Ambassadors for Sidrap Regency who were studied were 4 people. That data collection method used in the this research Formerly A interview. Based on the results of the interviews above, the effectiveness of tourist ambassadors in promoting tourist destinations is still not fully effective and realized, there are still many promotional programs from tourism ambassadors that have not been implemented and as for the obstacles for tourist ambassadors in Sidrap, lack of support and facilities provided by related parties in charge tourism ambassadors, for example media facilities that do not support tourism promotion.
