Abstract

Local wisdom based learning is very necessary in developing 21st century skills (Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, and Communication). Its implementation in History learning greatly influences how students determine topics, explore information, collect and compile information results in the form of poster products which are then communicated to get responses and feedback for project improvement. The research aims to describe Increasing Students' Critical and Creative Thinking Skills Using the Hybrid-PjBL in Bima Local Wisdom-Based History Learning. This study uses an experimental research method, quasi-experimental design. because the researcher considered that the study ignored external variables that could affect the results of the study. Then the researcher wanted to identify the differences in the learning process using the Hybrid-PjBL model with the conventional model on students' critical and creative thinking skills, and the grouping of experimental and control groups that are not selected randomly. The sample selection technique uses purposive sampling. The research sample was 188 students in KAE High School, 94 people in the experimental class and 94 people in the control class. Data analysis in this study includes normality tests and non-parametric statistical tests using SPSS. The results of the hypothesis test, if a significant value is obtained (2-tailed) <α = 0.05, then H0 will be rejected or Ha is accepted. conversely, if sig. (2-tailed) > α = 0.05, then H0 is accepted or Ha is rejected. The research instrument uses tests, and questionnaires that have been tested and validated by expert judgment. Quantitative data processing, through descriptive analysis (mean, median, mode, minimum and maximum values, percentage and frequency), normality test, and hypothesis test, finally Mann Whitney U Test and Wilkson Test. The results of the study showed that the experimental class was significantly higher than the control class. The Mean and Standard Deviation values in the pretest and posttest of the experimental class were 65.28 and 85.32 and the control class were 69.27 and 73.56. Specifically for the Experimental Class in the Mann-Whitney U Asymp value. Sig. (2-tailed) test results were 0.01 on the pre-test and post-test values of critical and creative thinking. 0.01 is smaller than 0.05, the alternative hypothesis is accepted. This means that the implementation of the Hybrid PjBL model in improving critical and creative thinking skills is very good.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of performance-based budgeting on the APBN. The writing of this article uses the literature review method, which is a search or review of published research articles. The process of searching for research data sources used in this article is searched through the Internet using a search engine. The data sources that we searched on the internet related to the evaluation of the implementation of performance-based budgeting on APBN accountability. The process of making this article began with reviewing data sources, these data sources were in the form of academic journals, media reviews, documents, both national and international documents related to the research title. The results of the study showed that the use of APBN budgeting with a performance-based budgeting system was better than using the Line Item budgeting system. The performance-based budgeting system for APBN has not been fully implemented properly.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the perceptions of English Language Teaching (ELT) students regarding the Independent Campus Learning Program (MBKM) and Independent Student Exchange (PMM) initiatives introduced by the Indonesian government in 2020. The research focuses on a sample of ten fourth-semester students from the English Education Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang, selected through random sampling techniques. Data was collected using questionnaires and interviews, employing a qualitative methodology for analysis. The findings indicate that the MBKM program is well-facilitated by universities, faculties, and study programs, which has resulted in high student interest and participation. The MBKM initiative allows students to develop diverse skills and knowledge by engaging in learning activities both within and outside their main study programs. It also promotes cultural exchange and integration, as evidenced by the experiences of students participating in the Nusantara module. Overall, the research highlights that the MBKM program significantly enhances students' capacity to become multifaceted individuals, better prepared for the demands of the modern workforce. The program's emphasis on independent and cross-disciplinary learning aligns with the government's objective to create a more versatile and competent graduate pool.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the influence of using Quizizz, a game-based digital learning platform, on students' English learning outcomes at SMA Muhammadiyah Pangsid. This study employs a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using pre-test and post-test assessments to measure the impact. The sample consisted of 20 students selected through simple random sampling. Data collection techniques included reading tests, questionnaires, observations, and statistical analysis using paired sample t-test. The results show a significant improvement in students’ English proficiency after using Quizizz, indicated by the average score increase from 26.55 (pre-test) to 38.75 (posttest). Questionnaire analysis revealed that students responded positively to the use of Quizizz, with high levels of motivation, engagement, and enjoyment. Observational data also demonstrated increased classroom participation and collaboration. These findings suggest that Quizizz not only enhances academic performance but also fosters a more interactive and engaging learning environment.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of communicative drilling in improving the English pronunciation skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 4 Pancarijang. A pre-experimental research design was employed, involving a single class of 22 students selected through random sampling. The research instruments consisted of a pronunciation test and a questionnaire measuring students' interest in learning pronunciation through communicative drilling. The results revealed a significant improvement in students' pronunciation ability, as indicated by the increase in mean scores from the pre-test (40.94) to the post-test (75.88). Furthermore, the analysis of students’ interest showed a high level of engagement and motivation, with 82.2% of students expressing strong or moderate interest in the learning process. Statistical analysis using a paired samples t-test confirmed that the difference between pre- and post-test scores was significant (p < 0.05). These findings suggest that communicative drilling is an effective and engaging method for enhancing students' English pronunciation. The study highlights the importance of interactive and repetitive pronunciation practice in fostering both skill development and learner motivation.

Abstract

This research aims to enhance students’ speaking skills through the implementation of the Jigsaw Method as a collaborative learning approach. The subjects of the study were students of class VIII.2 at UPT SMPN 4 Panca Rijang, selected through purposive sampling due to their low speaking skill. The study employed a pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest model. The instruments used were speaking tests and questionnaires. Data were analyzed quantitatively using a paired sample t-test with SPSS 25. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ speaking scores, with the mean increasing from 53.22 in the pretest to 73.65 in the posttest. The t-test revealed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a statistically significant difference. Moreover, questionnaire responses showed that most students had positive perceptions of the Jigsaw Method. They felt more confident, active, and engaged in speaking activities through group collaboration. The Jigsaw Method is proven to be effective in improving students’ speaking abilities while fostering peer interaction and responsibility in the learning process. It is recommended as an alternative strategy for teaching speaking skills in junior high school English classes.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a system that can provide classroom security, design and implement a student facial recognition system in classrooms. The development of a student counting system using IoT-based image classification methods makes it easier for lecturers and teachers to document student numbers. This research uses a campus or school classroom as the case study location. The devices used include a camera or webcam module as a face detection input device, a laptop to process the camera input, validate it against the class database, and perform the identification process (using the image classification library in the OpenCV application), and a laptop that functions as a web server to display the student count dashboard page. Test results show that the system can function properly when the distance between the camera and the student's face is between 30 cm and 170 cm, and cannot count at all at a distance of 180 cm.
