Abstract

High-order thinking skills are defined as a process in students that involves applying complex ideas, tends to have multiple possible answers, is open-ended, and involves elaborative thinking. To enhance students' thinking abilities, educators must be creative in creating a learning environment that supports learning objectives. Educators need effective learning strategies and should consider factors that can facilitate students. An ideal learning strategy to develop students' high-order thinking skills focuses on students. The purpose of research on dynamic problem-solving strategies is to understand how learners cope with evolving problems over time or in continuously changing learning environments. One such strategy developed is dynamic problem solving for physics learning. This study tested the feasibility of this method in physics learning using the one-shot case study experimental research method. The research was conducted at SMAN 8 Makassar. The feasibility of the DPS strategy was assessed by four observers, resulting in an average implementation score of 83.19%. Based on these results, the DPS strategy can successfully engage students in physics learning by enhancing their problem-solving skills.

Abstract

This quantitative descriptive study aims to describe high school students' creative thinking abilities in solving physics problems based on local wisdom. The data obtained in this research is quantitative and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The sample in this research consisted of 45 students. Based on the Gregory test, the validity value obtained is 1. Based on the Gregory test requirements, if V_c≥ 0.75 or ≥ 75%, it can be concluded that all items on creative thinking abilities are suitable for use. The reliability test obtained was 0.83 and was declared reliable. The instrument to collect data was an essay test consisting of 12 questions developed by indicators of creative thinking ability, including indicators of fluent thinking, flexible thinking, original thinking, and elaborative thinking. Based on research data, it was found that the ability to think creatively in solving physics problems based on local wisdom was in the low category. Based on the results of interviews show that 42% of students were unable to explain the relationship between physics concepts in the questions given. It can be concluded that the description of high school students' creative thinking abilities in solving physics problems based on local wisdom is in the low category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menerapkan Model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah atau Problem Based Learning (PBL) yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas ketercapaian pemahaman konsep fisika peserta didik kelas XI MIPA 1 di SMAN 3 Wajo Tahun Ajaran 2022/2023. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah pra-eksperimen dengan desain penelitian one group pretest-posttest design. Dalam penerapan model PBL diintegrasikan dengan simulasi PhET pada materi Elastisitas dan Hukum Hooke. Untuk mengukur ketercapaian pemahaman konsep fisika digunakan instrumen tes yang telah dikembangkan sebanyak 22 butir soal berbentuk pilihan ganda. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep fisika sebelum dan setelah diajar menggunakan model PBL mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan dan berada pada kategori tinggi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development) yang bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk media pembelajaran visual melalui komik fisika pada materi alat-alat optik yang bersifat valid, efektif, dan praktis. Pengembangan media pembelajaran melalui visualisasi komik ini mengacu pada model pengembangan 4-D yang telah disederhanakan menjadi tiga tahapan yang meliputi tahap pendefinisian (define), perancangan (design), dan pengembangan (develop). Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah: 1) penilaian kelayakan/kevalidan ahli media dipeoleh  dan ahli materi diperoleh  berdasarkan uji Gregory sehingga dikategorigan valid dan layak  ; 2) pada tahap uji coba terbatas kepada 29 peserta didik memperoleh rata-rata skor tes hasil belajar 75 dari skor ideal 100 dengan ketuntasan kelas 89,65% atau 26 orang yang tuntas; 3) respon peserta didik dan guru untuk media pembelajaran visual melalui komik pada materi alat-alat yang dikembangkan memperoleh kategori sangat tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa media pembelajaran visual melalui komik diniali valid, efektif dan praktis setelah dilakukan ujicoba terbatas kepada peserta didik kelas XII MIPA 4 SMAN 11 Pinrang dan respon dari guru.

Abstract

This article discusses a basic electronics training program oriented towards entrepreneurship for Generation Z. Generation Z, known as the digital generation, has significant potential to develop technical and entrepreneurial skills relevant to the demands of Industry 4.0. This training is designed to provide fundamental understanding of electronics while equipping participants with the entrepreneurial knowledge and skills necessary to create new business opportunities in the field of technology. Through a practical approach and real projects, participants are expected to design and develop simple electronic products, as well as understand basic business concepts such as planning, marketing, and financial management. The results of the training show a significant improvement in the participants' technical and entrepreneurial skills, as well as an increased interest in further exploring business potential in the field of electronics. This article also evaluates the challenges and opportunities faced in the implementation of this training program, and provides recommendations for the development of similar training programs in the future

Abstract

The aims of this research is to determine the effectiveness of the global warming e-worksheet using Liveworksheet integrated with PhET interactive simulations to improve students’ critical thinking skills. The independent variable is the use of a global warming e-worksheet integrated with PhET interactive simulations, while the dependent variable is the critical thinking skill (analyze the facts, formulate the main problem, interpreting, and summarizing). This research used a pre-experimental type, with a one-group pretest-posttest research design. At SMAN 4 Yogyakarta, 70 students in the 10th grade participated in the cluster random sampling technique. Criteria for measuring critical thinking skills were objective questions. Then, using SPSS, descriptive statistics, n-gain tests, and one-way ANOVA were used to examine the results. Results showed that the students' critical thinking skills were significantly enhanced by the global warming e-worksheet integrated with PhET interactive simulations. This points out that using electronic physics learning materials and integrating technology has a positive effect on improving cognitive skills. Students learn content during the learning process, but they also gain a deeper understanding of the material by using simulations that are based on real-world problems and scientific principles to complete e-worksheets.

Abstract

This research is quantitative descriptive research which aims to find out a picture. ability. think. analysis of high school students throughout the city Makassar. This research aims to determine analytical thinking skills in four schools, namely SMAN 4 Makassar, SMAN 6 Makassar, SMAN 9 Makassar, SMAN 23 Makassar using test instruments in the form of essay questions using a descriptive quantitative approach with a total research sample of 183 students, namely 62 participants. educated from SMAN 4 Makassar. 53 students from SMAN 6 Makassar, 22 students from SMAN 9 Makassar, and 46 students from SMAN 23 Makassar. The research instrument used is a test with 12 valid questions out of 22 questions that have been validated by experts, where the first indicator consists of 5 items, the second indicator consists of 4 questions and the third indicator consists of 3 questions. Test questions. This is used for collecting quantitative research data because it is a test instrument. to measure a person's abilities in a particular field. Instruments that. used to collect data in the form of essay tests that are developed accordingly. with indicators of analytical thinking skills which include analytical indicators. elements or elements, relationship analysis, and system analysis. And data mining through interviews was carried out using semi-structured interviews. Based on the research data, it was found that the physics analysis thinking ability of students at SMAN throughout Makassar City was in the medium category with an average amounting to 21.84. This is due to a lack of practice in analytical questions given.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the physics reflective thinking abilities of high school students in Makassar City. Reflective thinking is one of the characteristics of formal operational thinking. The sample was class XII students from each of the four schools, namely SMA Negeri 6 Makassar, SMA Negeri 8 Makassar, SMA Negeri 9 Makassar, dan SMA Negeri 18 Makassar totalling 159 students. The research data was obtained by giving a 10-item essay test. The analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive analysis. The research results show that the average obtained by high school students in Makassar City is 9,61 and is in the low category. Based on the results of the analysis and interviews that have been conducted, the low ability of students' reflective thinking cannot be separated from various factors that influence it, such as students still solving problems directly, students considering physics to be a difficult subject and memorizing a lot of formulas so that students are less interested in learning physics, and Students still make mistakes in answering questions when given the opportunity to correct their answers.

Abstract

Colorado Learning Attitudes about Science Survey (CLASS) is an instrument designed to explore students' perceptions of physics and assess how closely their beliefs correspond with those of professional physicists. Before the development of CLASS, several similar instruments were developed in the field of Physics Education such as the Maryland Physics Expectation (MPEX), Views About Science Survey (VASS), and Epistemological Beliefs Assessment for Physical Science (EBAPS). Adams et al. developed CLASS in 2006 by evaluating these three instruments. Since then, CLASS has been extensively studied for its use in research, especially in the field of Physics Education, and has also been applied in other fields and translated into several languages. As a form of community strengthening, this article attempts to report the research findings related to the use of the CLASS instrument that has been translated into Indonesian. A total of 292 undergraduate students were sampled in this study, who are students from four universities. The respondents in this study were students who had enrolled in the Fundamental of Physics course. The data obtained were analysed with Item Response Theory (IRT) for the polytomous scale. There are Grade Response Model (GRM), Partial Credit Model (PCM), Rating Scale Model (RSM), and Generalized Partial Credit Model (GPCM). The research results show that among the four models of approach and based on the criteria used, the model considered most suitable is GRM. The research also shows that the number of items declared consistent with the model does not cover all CLASS items but rather some items. This finding indicates that further exploration is needed regarding the CLASS instrument items, especially in the Indonesian version. The findings of this study also add to the wealth of knowledge related to the quality assessment of the CLASS instrument through the modern test theory approach (IRT). Thus, the CLASS instrument can be regarded as a standard instrument and can be used globally across various populations.

Abstract

Penelitian dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemandirian belajar peserta didik melalui penggunaan media praktikum virtual PHeT Colorado dalam proses pembelajaran fisika materi gelombang cahaya. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) Kolaboratif yang subjek penelitiannya berjumlah 35 orang peserta didik kelas XI MIPA 1 SMAN 8 Bulukumba tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian berupa angket kemandirian belajar yang telah dikembangkan dan divalidasi oleh peneliti sebelumnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan kemandirian belajar peserta didik setelah melakukan dua siklus pembelajaran berbantukan PheT Colorado. Hasil tersebut terlihat dari peningkatan persentase jumlah peserta didik dengan kemandirian belajar kategori tinggi dari 22,85% menjadi 51,42% dan penurunan jumlah peserta didik dengan kategori kemandirian belajar yang rendah dari 42,85% menjadi 17,14%.
