Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to construct an instrument for assessing the spiritual attitudes of moral subjects and how much the contribution of these spiritual attitudes can be applied in everyday life. Design/methods/approach – The research approach used by RnD (Research and Development) with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) model. The subjects of this study were students of class XI. Data collection techniques use the Likert scale. Findings – The instrument was analyzed using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA); in the assessment of spiritual attitudes, there were four factors/dimensions, but the per-factor instrument variables did not correspond to the initial dimensions (obedience, thanksgiving, praying, and tasamuh) with the average value of the loading factor of each factor namely F1 = 0.650, F2 = 0.615, F3 = 0.578 and F4 = 0.774. In contrast, the instrument reliability test obtained a value of 0.705 with a high instrument category. The analysis results produce the findings by making new factors, namely tasamuh, gratitude, worship, and aqidah. Research implications/limitation – This spiritual attitude assessment can be used in all Madrasah Aliyah in Indonesia. However, due to the limitations of researchers in distributing questionnaires, this research was only conducted in Sintang Regency. Originality/value – Further research is expected to construct an assessment of the spiritual attitudes of students in terms of more specific aspects of learning and daily life.

Abstract

Corruption is a highly complex problem in the current global era. One of the government's innovations in the battle against corruption is anti-corruption education. Along with the implementation of anti-corruption education, tools are needed to measure the success of implementing anti-corruption education programs through anti-corruption instruments. This study uses a quantitative research method with the Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) data analysis technique to show the validity of the construction of anti-corruption character assessment tools. The anti-corruption values consist of nine values: courage, justice, caring, simplicity and independence, hard work, responsibility, honesty, and discipline. This study uses the SPSS application to process EFA construct validity data. The questionnaire has been tested on 72 junior high school students. The study's findings show that the character evaluation tool satisfies a number of EFA requirements: 1) The criteria for adequacy of the sample with a KMO-MSA value of > 0.5 (0.681) and sig. 0.000 on Bartlett's Test. 2) All items can be carried out by factor analysis because they have an anti-image correlation value > 0.5. 3) There are eight factors formed from the eigenvalues of factor 1 (6.080), factor 2 (2.066), factor 3 (1.636), factor 4 (1.510), factor 6 (1.360), factor 7 (1.257), and factor 8 (1.085).

Abstract

This study aims to develop and validate a high-order thinking skills (HOTS)-based multiple-choice instrument to assess citizen participation in consumer education. Guided by Bannister and Monsma's framework, the instrument was developed through expert reviews and tested empirically using the Rasch model. The content validity, assessed by Aiken's V, CVR, and I-CVI, showed high expert agreement. Empirical validation involving 250 university students indicated excellent item reliability (0.99), acceptable person reliability (0.79), and appropriate item fit. All 24 items analyzed fell within acceptable MNSQ ranges and showed positive point-measure correlations. While item difficulties ranged from –2.23 to +1.87 logits, most were easier for the sample, suggesting potential refinement for high-ability students. The findings support the instrument's validity and reliability for assessing Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in citizen participation, providing a robust tool for assessing transformative consumer education.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of differentiated assessment in the garment preparation phase of the Fashion Design and Production subject in vocational high schools (SMK). Differentiated assessment is a strategic approach that aligns evaluation with students’ readiness, interests, and learning profiles, and is strongly promoted by the Merdeka Curriculum. Using a mixed-methods approach and the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model, this study involved 10 teachers, 160 students, 3 school principals, and 2 program heads from selected SMKs in Semarang. Data were collected through document analysis, classroom observations, questionnaires, interviews, and focus group discussions. The results show that differentiated assessment is only partially implemented. Most teachers adapt task difficulty but rarely differentiate based on students’ learning styles or interests. Major obstacles include limited professional development, lack of contextualized assessment tools, and time constraints. Despite these challenges, the study finds that students exhibit higher engagement and improved performance when provided with flexible and personalized assessment options. The findings emphasize the need for structured teacher training, development of project-based differentiated assessment tools, and school policies that support inclusive evaluation practices. This study contributes to both local and global discourse by highlighting the practical implications of differentiated assessment in vocational education and strengthening its relevance within the context of Indonesia’s education reform.

Abstract

The development of rice noodles (kwetiau) made from rice flour has weaknesses in protein content and texture. Therefore, soy protein isolate (SPI) is used for fortification to overcome protein deficiency and improve organoleptic properties. The study aimed to develop rice noodles from rice flour fortified with SPI to increase protein content and maintain its sensory properties. The method used research and development using 4D models. The research began with the establishment of a reference recipe followed by the formulation of rice noodle dough with the addition of SPI at concentrations of 5%, 7.5%, and 10%. The main ingredients consisted of rice flour, tapioca flour, and SPI produced by Linyi Shansong Biological Products Co. Ltd. The process of making rice noodles includes weighing, mixing, adding water, steaming, cooling, cutting, and vacuum packaging. Observations were made on protein content and sensory properties (color, aroma, taste, texture) through hedonic test of 30 panelists, then analyzed quantitatively. The results showed that the addition of SPI significantly increased the protein content of rice noodles. The 10% SPI formulation increased the protein content from 2.67% (control) to 5.75%. Sensory properties in the addition of 10% SPI had no significant effect on aroma and taste, and even increased panelists' preference for color. However, the texture of rice noodles decreased significantly with the addition of 10% SPI, which was thought to be due to the effect of too high SPI so that the strength and elasticity of the gel decreased. In conclusion, the addition of 10% SPI to rice noodles successfully increased the protein content without affecting the acceptance of aroma, taste, and color. However, formulation optimization needs to be done to improve the decreased texture so that the product can be accepted by consumers as a whole.
