Abstract

This study aims to analyze the graduation rate of senior high school education in 34 Indonesian provinces during the period 2015-2023 and identify patterns of educational disparities between regions. To achieve the objectives, this study applies a neural network to predict education completion patterns based on historical data, then the prediction results are analyzed using K-means clustering technique utilizing the elbow method to select the ideal number of clusters. The clustering results show three categories of provinces based on education completion rates: high, medium, and low. The provinces with high completion rates, generally, supported with good education infrastructure and effective policies, while the medium category faces challenges in resource distribution, but still potentially improve. In contrast, the low category suffers from limited access, geographical constraints, and socio-economic disparities. This research contributes to education policy-making by offering a machine learning-based approach to understanding education disparities between regions. The new insight offered by this study lies in the integration of neural network and K-means clustering in mapping education completion rates to support strategies for improving access and quality of education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Mathematical knowledge and computational thinking train students' ability to reason, and this is needed to be able to compete in the digital era in the future. This study aims to construct a mathematical cognitive test instrument using the computational thinking (CT) model that meets the validity, reliability, and good item criteria and provides new insights into how to apply computational thinking in Islamic education (madrasah). This research includes development research consisting of design and implementation stages with a sample of 160 madrasah aliyah students in the Sleman district. Instrument validity was conducted by proving content validity. Reliability was estimated using the separation reliability coefficient, and the quality of the instrument was analyzed using the Rasch model. The instrument was declared reliable (separation reliability coefficient of 0.8059), classified as a good fit for the model, with a p-value of 0.64 > 0.05), and effective in measuring mathematics skills with a percentage of 99.85%. The instrument developed opens the insight that the subject matter in madrasah can be integrated with computational thinking skills and can be used as an alternative for diagnostic, formative, and summative tests.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the item characteristics of the mathematics problem-solving ability test instrument using the Classical Test Theory model. The data collection was based on the results of the test documentation as many as 359 students with dichotomous data. Qualitative validation analysis by experts uses the panel method, and quantitative analysis uses the Aiken index and Content Validity Ratio (CVR), while quantitative validation uses biserial point correlation. The test reliability index used the Alpha-Cronbach method. The results of qualitative validation show that all items correspond to the indicators of solving mathematical problems, but technically writing a few items needs improvement. Quantitative analysis using the Aiken index and CVR shows all items are valid with good validity. The reliability of the test is stable, with a coefficient of 0.83. Then, the test instrument consists of items with very difficult, difficult, and easy levels. All items were able to distinguish the test taker's ability and the effectiveness of the distractor to function correctly. Keywords: classical test theory, biserial point correlation, validity, reliability. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v22i1.pp98-111

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between religiosity and quality of life through a comprehensive meta-analysis, motivated by inconsistent findings in previous research that range from strong positive correlations to weak or non-significant associations. Understanding this relationship is crucial for clarifying the psychological and social functions of religiosity in contemporary societies. This research employed a quantitative meta-analytic design by synthesizing 31 Scopus-indexed empirical studies published between 2015 and 2024. Data were extracted in the form of correlation coefficients and analyzed using a random-effects model, accompanied by heterogeneity tests, publication bias assessments, and robustness checks. This methodological approach ensured systematic data integration without presenting technical details excessively. The findings show a significant positive correlation between religiosity and quality of life (r = 0.32; 95% CI [0.20, 0.44]; p < 0.001). Substantial heterogeneity (Q = 656.535; p < 0.001) suggests that cultural, demographic, and methodological differences may moderate this relationship. The absence of publication bias and a high fail-safe N value (5,109) further confirm the stability of the results. These findings imply that religiosity functions as a meaningful psychological, social, and spiritual resource capable of enhancing individual well-being across diverse populations. The results contribute to the development of resilience- and spirituality-based interventions in psychological, health, and community settings. The originality of this study lies in its synthesis of a full decade of empirical evidence, offering the most updated meta-analytic confirmation of the religiosity–quality of life relationship. This research provides new value by integrating large-scale data, addressing inconsistencies in prior findings, and strengthening theoretical and practical understanding of how religiosity contributes to human well-being.
