Abstract

The rationale of this study was students' critical and creative thinking skills in learning mathematics are still low. Many strategies to improve those abilities, one of the strategies is using e-worksheets. This research aims to explore the effect of e-worksheets based on Tri-N Principles give support to improve the creative and critical thinking ability of students in learning mathematics. Tri-N was chosen since one of Ki Hajar Dewantara's principles, including Niteni, Nirokke, and Nambahi. These principles have provided support to improve the creative and critical thinking ability of students in learning. An experimental method with a posttest-only design type was used in this research. The random cluster was used to take a research sample of 52 students from the Junior High School of Pembangunan Piyungan in two classes. The instrument used is a mathematical test in the form of a description which aims to measure students' mathematical critical and creative thinking abilities. The hypothesis test uses multivariate analysis because this study has two dependent variables. The results revealed that the calculated F is  with a significance coefficient of .000. For this reason, it can be concluded that e-worksheets based on Tri-N principles improve critical and creative thinking skills. So, e-worksheets based on Tri-N principles can be used as an alternative to improve the creative and critical thinking ability of students in learning mathematics.

Abstract

Previous research has highlighted the challenges of improving students' mathematical skills, particularly in connecting mathematical concepts to everyday life and developing strong mathematical habits of mind. This research aims to integrate problem-based learning (PBL) into a mathematics module to enhance mathematical connection abilities and mathematical habits of mind. The ADDIE method was employed to achieve this goal, encompassing five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The findings indicate that media, material, and language experts deemed the module highly suitable. Furthermore, the product was rated as highly practical based on teacher assessments, student responses, and observations during implementation. Effectiveness tests of the product, conducted through MANOVA, t-tests, and N-gain tests, revealed that the module is highly effective in enhancing students' mathematical connection abilities and moderately effective in improving their mathematical habits of mind. These findings underscore the importance of integrating digital learning technologies to increase the module's engagement and accessibility.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that most junior high school students have low critical and creative thinking abilities when facing mathematical problems. Even though these two abilities can be used as a basis for solving a mathematical problem, this research aims to determine the effectiveness of Tri-N based LKPD on students' critical thinking and creative thinking skills in One Variable Linear Equations material. The research method used is an experimental method with a Posttest-Only Control Design. The sample size was 39 students in a private junior high school in Piyungan, Bantul. This sample was taken using a cluster random sampling technique. The instrument used in this research is a mathematical problem test, which aims to measure critical and creative thinking abilities in dealing with mathematical problems. The data analysis technique used is the MANOVA test. The research results show that learning mathematics on equations and linear inequalities in one variable using Tri-N based worksheets does not significantly affect students' ability to think critically and creatively. In connection with the results of this research, Tri-N based LKPD on equations and inequalities in one variable can be used as an alternative teaching material for mathematics learning in equations and inequalities in one variable.
