Abstract

Anemia is a condition where the hemoglobin (Hb) level in the blood is lower than normal. In general, the factors that cause anemia in young women are lack of knowledge regarding balanced nutritional intake patterns, restrictions on food consumption, and non-compliance with consuming blood supplement tablets (TTD). The aim of this research was to determine the effect of anemia education using monomia media (Monopoly Anemia) on the knowledge of female students at SMA Negeri 5 OKU. This type of research is quantitative research using the Pre-Experimental method with a One Group Pre Test and Post Test Design, collecting data by conducting pre-tests and post-tests and providing education with the monomia game (Monopoly Anemia). The total sample was 30 young women. Data analysis in the study used Univariate and Bivariate analysis using the Wilcoxon test to determine the effect of anemia education using monomia media (Monopoly Anemia) on the knowledge of female students at SMA Negeri 5 OKU. The research results showed that the average percentage of Pre-test knowledge was in the poor category, 17 female students (56.7%), while the average post-test knowledge was in the good category, 30 female students (100%). There was an effect of providing education using monomia (Monopoly Anemia) (p= 0.000). In this study it can be concluded that there was an increase in knowledge between the Pre Test and Post Test after being given education using monomia (Monopoly Anemia) to female students at SMA Negeri 5 OKU. It is recommended that teenagers increase their knowledge about anemia by seeking information on the prevention and control of anemia.

Optimal children’s nutritional status is an indicator of achieving child growth according to their age. Optimizing nutritional status is supported by providing nutrition intake to meet children's daily nutrition needs. Kindergarten students need  nutritionally, healthy and safe food. Providing balanced nutritious food supplies for kindergarten students requires knowledge, attitudes and good practices from parents, as well as implementation of nutritionally balanced meal that are integrated into the kindergarten learning curriculum from the school. Harapan Bunda Kindergarten, which is located in Talang Belido Village, Sungai Gelam District, Muaro Jambi Regency, has never received nutrition promotion regarding the nutritious food for kindergarten students. The food supplies for kindergarten students brought by their parents also do not implement balanced diet. This community service activity aimed to organize nutritional promotion of balanced nutritious food to optimize the nutritional status of kindergarten students with the targets are teachers and parents. The results of community service activities showed that there is an increase in target’s knowledge before and after being given education which is not significantly different (Sig.>0.05). It is necessary to get used to implementing balance diet on children's meal which contain carbohydrate foods, protein foods, vegetables, fruit, and drinking water consumption (1200-1500 ml per day)..

Abstract

e level of food consumption in the adolescent age group is still classified as less in accordance with balanced dietary guidelines, which is still in the low category in the consumption of protein, fruits and vegetables, and the consumption of fat, sugar and salt is quite high. However, if calorie intake is not balanced with the amount of energy expended through physical activity, an increase in energy reserves stored in adipose tissue can lead to overweight. Diet quality, as an assessment of adherence to a balanced diet, has a role to play in improving health by recommending dietary diversity to meet nutrient needs and by preventing food-related noncommunicable diseases. The aim of this study was to determine the difference in diet quality between overweight and non-overweight adolescents in SMA N 10 Jambi City. This research was conducted in May-July 2024 in SMA N 10 Jambi City. This research is a quantitative study with cross sectional design. Data was collected using 3x24 hour food recall interviews. The sample size was 85 adolescents. Data analysis in this study used univariate and bivariate analysis using T- test. The results showed a percentage description of diet quality in adolescents, namely as many as 85 people (100%) had poor diet quality and as many as 41 people (48.2%) had overweight nutritional status. There is no difference between the diet quality of overweight adolescents and non-overweight adolescents with a Sig. 0,284. It can be concluded that there is no difference between the dietary quality of overweight and non- overweight adolescents. It is recommended that schools, in collaboration with the health centre, carry out counselling on the consumption of balanced, nutritious food, guided by the contents of my plate, in order to improve the quality of adolescent diet.

Abstract

The level of consumer awareness of labels is still relatively low (30.3% - 34.3%), especially for highly educated consumers (2.3). Research in South Africa also showed low results (48.48%) for consumers who often or always read labels with the category of highly educated respondents. In addition, the prevalence of label use reported based on literature studies from various countries such as Lesotho (40.5%), Chile (55%), and Trinidad (58.5%) for the frequent and always categories. The habit of reading labels among adolescent consumers is still low. In addition, not all parts of the label, especially the nutritional value information, are read and understood by adolescents. Implementation of a healthier diet can be done by reading and understanding nutritional value information on product labels. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and the behaviour of reading nutrition labels among adolescents at SMAN 10 Jambi City. This study was conducted in April-July 2024 at SMA N 10 Jambi City. This study is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. Data collection by filling out a questionnaire. The population was 576 adolescents and a sample of 86 adolescents. Data analysis in this study used univariate and bivariate analysis using chi-square. The results showed a percentage description of the level of knowledge of reading nutrition labels, namely as many as 20 respondents (23.3%) were lacking, 28 respondents (32.6) were sufficient, 38 respondents (44.2%) had a level of knowledge of reading labels in the good category, 59 respondents (68.6%) had reading behaviour of nutrition labels in the sufficient category. 23 respondents. (26.7%) were poor, 4 respondents (4.7%) were good. There was no relationship between knowledge level and nutrition label reading behaviour with a p-value of 0.720. It can be concluded that most adolescents already have a good level of label reading knowledge but have poor nutrition label reading behaviour.
