Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence students’ acceptance of AI use in Economics learning by applying the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model. This research employed an explanatory quantitative method with Total sampling, involving 170 students from SMA Negeri 3 Nganjuk, Nganjuk Regency, as respondents. The research instrument consisted of a five-point Likert scale questionnaire measuring six main UTAUT constructs. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings indicate that Social Influence is the most dominant variable with a significant effect on Behavioral Intention (β = 0.300; p = 0.001), while Performance Expectancy and Effort Expectancy did not show significant effects. Additionally, Facilitating Conditions and Behavioral Intention significantly affect Use Behavior. These results show that the UTAUT model is relevant for explaining AI technology acceptance in Economics learning. The study concludes that Social Influence, Facilitating Conditions, and prior Experience are the dominant determinants of AI acceptance in this context, while Performance Expectancy (β = 0.117; p = 0.204) and Effort Expectancy (β = 0.179; p = 0.053) did not reach statistical significance, findings consistent with Table 6. These results underscore the necessity for educational institutions to prioritize adequate digital infrastructure, foster supportive social environments, and provide progressive exposure to AI technologies to enhance successful implementation in Economics education.

Abstract

Objective: This research seeks to examine the relationship between family economic education and the entrepreneurial interest of prospective economics teacher students. Method: This study employs a quantitative regression method with a survey to obtain primary data processed in SPSS. The results of this study found a negative and significant connection in relation to family economic education and the entrepreneurial interest of prospective teacher students at Surabaya State University. Results: The results of this study found a negative and massive relationship between family economic education and the entrepreneurial interest of prospective teacher students at Surabaya State University. This occurs due to the internalisation process and the conservative views of parents regarding the teaching profession that students will pursue. The indication lies in the preparation of all economic aspects for career purposes, rather than focusing on entrepreneurship. Novelty: This study uses a population of prospective economics teachers, which is rarely studied, with a research model related to the latest data. This can broaden the understanding of the broader contextual entrepreneurial interest.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyse the partial influence of teachers' roles and student motivation on the decision to choose cross-interest economic programmes among high school students. Method: An explanatory quantitative method was employed to examine the relationship between variables using a questionnaire as an instrument. The sampling technique used saturated sampling, including all tenth-grade students at Petra Christian High School 3 Surabaya. Data analysis was conducted using SEM-PLS with the assistance of WarPPLS software.  Results:  This research found that the role of teachers has a positive and significant influence on the decision to choose interdisciplinary economics programs, while motivation has no effect. This emphasises the importance of the teacher's role as well as the need for improvements in economics teaching to make it more engaging. Novelty: Contextualising research in the latest location and time is a novelty because learning has changed since the revision of government policy. Teacher training to make economics a flagship subject is also important and urgent today.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Purpose: The main focus of this study is to understand research trends, identify key academic actors, and explore the impact of the circular economy in various dimensions of development. In this way, it is hoped that this study will not only contribute to the development of knowledge but also serve as a reference for policymakers, practitioners, and researchers in developing strategies for the transition to a circular economy in developing countries. Design/methodology/approach: This This study uses a bibliometric approach to identify and map publication trends in circular economy research in developing countries. With this approach, researchers can identify the extent to which the circular economy has become a focus of research, as well as the topics that dominate scientific debate. The bibliographic data collection process involved several stages. The first stage involved entering the terms “circular AND economic AND in AND developing AND country” in the article title field of the Scopus database for the period 2017-2025 with the document type “Article,” which yielded 364 documents. Then, the language was limited to English, resulting in a dataset of 358 articles. To ensure the relevance and accuracy of these articles, a recheck was performed using Microsoft Excel to review the titles, followed by a review of the abstracts for content suitability, with a final result of 168 articles that met all the specified criteria. Findings: The review indicates that growing global attention to the topic. The dominant themes focus on waste management, recycling, and sustainable development, while research trends are gradually shifting toward more empirical, policy-oriented, and interdisciplinary studies. However, gaps remain in integrating renewable energy, social aspects, and circular business models, and scholarly contributions are still concentrated in a limited number of countries, highlighting the need for broader participation and more collaborative, policy-driven research in developing economies Research limitations/implications: This study is limited to the selected database and publication period, which may limit the generalization of the findings. Future research should expand the data sources, apply empirical approaches, and integrate less explored aspects such as renewable energy, social dimensions, and circular business models to strengthen circular economy studies in developing countries. Practical implications: These findings provide insights for policymakers, researchers, and practitioners in identifying key trends and research gaps in circular economy studies. These results can support the development of more effective policies, encourage interdisciplinary collaboration, and guide the implementation of circular economy practices to promote sustainable development in developing countries. Originality/value: This study contributes to the literature by presenting a structured thematic mapping of circular economy research and by identifying emerging themes and potential gaps for future research. Abstract

Economic education is very important to shape the entrepreneurial mindset of students. The purpose of this study is to find out how economic education has an impact on the development of entrepreneurial mindset of students of the State University of Surabaya. This research uses a qualitative approach, namely collecting data through observation and in-depth interviews with students enrolled in entrepreneurship courses. Research shows that students gain a better understanding of financial management, business concepts and market strategies compared to students who do not have formal economic education, students who are exposed to economic materials are more likely to develop business innovations and take risks. Lack of hands-on experience and limited access to business resources are some of the obstacles that hinder the application of economic theory into entrepreneurial practice. This research helps educational institutions strengthen students’ entrepreneurial thinking by creating a curriculum that is more applicable and experience-based.
