Abstract

Octolasmis is a type of ectoparasite which is often found on the gills of lobsters. Octolasmis can also be a threat to lobster populations and can even cause high mortality rates. This study aims to detect the effect of different fixative solutions on the morphological characters of Octolasmis infesting the gills of scalloped spiny lobsters (Panulirus homarus). Samples of Octolasmis were collected from the gills of wildly-caught scalloped spiny lobsters in East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. The samples were immersed separately in two different fixative solution which are either absolute ethanol or formalin solution. After 7 days, morphological analysis of Octolasmis was analysed using an integrated optilab stereo binocular microscope and a lucida camera. The result showed that there were significant differences in the morphological condition of Octolasmis sp. including skin colour, organ appearance and size of the Octolasmis. In general, the result showed that formalin is better fixative solution.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kebijakan sekolah dalam penggunaan gadged siswa SMAN 18 Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, adapun jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Berdasarkan data yang dikumpulkan menunjukkan bahwa dalam peraturan di sekolah menegaskan bahwa diperbolehkannya penggunaan gadget di sekolah tersebut, baik itu melalui keterangan yang diperoleh dari kepala sekolah, guru-guru, maupun para siswa. Penggunaan Gadget diperbolehkan dengan syarat hanya bisa digunakan saat guru pada mata pelajaran yang berlangsung memperbolehkan atau mengizinkannya untuk menggunakan gadget. Adapun dampak yang ditimbulkan dari kebijakan ini terbagi menjadi dua yakni dampak positif dan negatif. dampak positifnya yaitu mempermudah para guru dan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran, serta meningkatkan kemampuan kreativitas siswa dan pemecahan masalah. Sedangkan dampak negatifnya yaitu, membuat siswa malas berpikir dan menyalah gunakan gadget mereka serta penurunan konsentrasi saat belajar gadget akan disita dan akan dikembalikan pada saat kenaikan kelas semester selanjutnya kemudian siswa yang melanggar akan diberi bimbingan konseling berupa nasihat.

Abstract

Phytate content which is considered as anti-nutritional factors has been frequently associated with plant-based diets. One way to dealt with this issue is by supplementation of exogenous phytase-producing bacteria. Thus, this study was aimed at detection and quantification of phytase-producing bacteria from the gastrointestinal tract of cultured Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) and wild tilapia. The result showed that phytase-producing bacteria were only detected from the gastrointestinal tract of cultured tilapia, while none was observed from the wild tilapia. Total viable count (TVC) of bacteria associated with the gastrointestinal tract of cultured Tilapia was recorded at 7.8 x 107 CFU/g, and the number of phytase-producing bacteria were counted for 2.6 x 106 CFU/g or about 3.31%. This research result indicated the presence of phytase-producing bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract of Nile tilapia. However, further research is still required to quantify the amount and activity of phytase in the intestinal tract of the fish. In addition, those phytase-producing bacteria should be identified in order to track where the bacteria came from.

Abstract

Information on the type, nutritional value, and use of local forage as racehorse feed remains limited due to the lack of exploration and identification of available local forage germplasm. To develop competitive livestock, it is necessary to utilize local resources that have added value, such as local forage with good nutritional quality adapted to local climate conditions. Research aimed to determining the nutritional composition of forage feed for racehorses in Empang District, Sumbawa Regency was analyzed from 27 June to 27 July 2022 at the Animal Nutrition and Feed Science Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Mataram University. Samples of forage were taken from predetermined locations and then it dried to analyzed. The samples were taken randomly from 10 percent of total population of racehorse breeders. This research presents descriptive discussion of the qualitative data obtained. It analyzed quantitative data using the Microsoft Excel program, based on mean and standard deviation. The results indicate that the Sumbawa Racing horse feeding system involves directly providing six types of feed with varying nutritional content to the horses in their stables.. They are such as Bermuda Grass (Cynodon dactylon) with nutritional composition: DM 23.54%; CP 12.02%, TDN 43.59%, Kekawatan grass (Cynodon nlemfuensis): DM 29.38%; CP 8.66%; TDN 36.44%. Deccan grass (Echinochloa colona): DM 29.26%; CP 7.64%; TDN 39.37%. Mung bean straw (Vigna radiata): DM 89.72%; CP 7.58%; TDN 39.00%, Rice bran (Oryza sativa): DM 89.95%; CP 8.75%; TDN 62.04%, and Corn grain (Zea mays): DM 24.67%;C P 6.92%; TDN 45.07%.

Abstract

The limited knowledge and skills in the hatchery technology application of the freshwater fish to seed production business are obstacles faced by prospective young entrepreneurs in the aquaculture sector. The Community Partnership Program (PKM) was provided as a strategic step to overcome the obstacles faced by the target partner group in this PKM activity in line with the Public Vocational Secondary School's (SMKN) expectations to provide sufficient insight into science and technology for SMKN students as provision for independent entrepreneurship. The aim of this PKM was to transfer the application of freshwater fish (catfish) hatchery technology and the produce fish seeds independently. The activity method was conducted through: a) delivery of material and training related to broodstocks selection and gonad maturation, b) training on the application of freshwater fish hatchery technology (catfish), and c) regular monitoring and assistance to PKM target partner groups by involving related agencies (SMKN). Delivery of material was carried out regularly, both online and face to face (offline). Approximately 40 students of SMKN Ngadirojo, Pacitan Regency who took the flagship program of Aquaculture Agribusiness, attended this activity. This PKM activity was also attended by accompanying teachers. The practical results show an increase in the knowledge and skills of partners in catfish hatchery through the application of semi-artificial catfish broodstocks spawning technology.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh suplementasi Weissella confusa pada pelet dari limbah ekstrak ikan gabus (LEIG) terhadap performa pertumbuhan dan kom-posisi proksimat ikan lele, Clarias gariepinus. Performa per-tumbuhan diukur dengan pengamatan panjang dan berat ikan, nilai konversi pakan, tingkat kelangsungan hidup dan analisa proksimat pada pelet maupun daging ikan lele. Data yang didapatkan dianalisis tingkat homogenitas dan dilanjutkan de-ngan uji ANOVA one-way dan Tukey untuk mengetahui signi-fikan antar perlakuan. Perlakuan terdiri dari K0 (Pelet komer-sial), K1 (Pelet LEIG tanpa probiotik), K2 (Pelet LEIG + probiotik 1,0 × 105 CFU/g), K3 (Pelet LEIG probiotik 1,0 × 107 CFU/g), dan K4 (Pelet LEIG + probiotik 1,0 × 109 CFU/g). Ha-sil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertambahan berat dan panjang ikan tertinggi didapatkan dari perlakuan K3 (8,40 g dan 7 cm) dengan laju pertumbuhan spesifik tertinggi, yaitu 3,89% BT/hari. K3 memiliki nilai FCR 1,34 dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup ikan 53,33%. Hasil uji proksimat pelet K3, yaitu air 8,45%, abu 14,52%, lemak 4,15%, protein 58,59%, karbohidrat 26,82%, dan pada ikan K3 yakni air 75,62%, abu 1,93%, lemak 1,47%, protein 11,82%, dan karbohidrat 17,72%.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini yakni berkaitan dengan Program pelatihan budidaya teripang yang terintegrasi dengan kearifan lokal dalam menguatkan ekonomi maritim masyarakat pesisir Kabupaten Bima. Wilayah Bima dengan garis pantai yang panjang memiliki potensi sumber daya perikanan, khususnya teripang (gamat/timun laut), yang belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal akibat keterbatasan pengetahuan teknis dan akses pasar. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi literatur dan analisis data sekunder, Pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa model kegiatan pelatihan komprehensif—meliputi aspek teknis budidaya ramah lingkungan, manajemen usaha, dan pemasaran—yang diselaraskan dengan nilai-nilai budaya lokal seperti _ponggawa-sawi_ (hubungan patron-klien nelayan), _mbolo weki_ (gotong royong), dan prinsip keberlanjutan, mampu menjadi katalisator pemberdayaan ekonomi. Implementasi program semacam ini tidak hanya meningkatkan pendapatan dan menciptakan lapangan kerja tetapi juga memperkuat kelembagaan ekonomi pesisir dan mendorong ketahanan ekonomi daerah. Hasil Pengabdian ini menyimpulkan bahwa keberhasilan penguatan ekonomi maritim di Bima sangat bergantung pada sinergi antara transfer teknologi modern dan penguatan budaya kelautan lokal. Rekomendasi kebijakan difokuskan pada pengembangan program pelatihan berkelanjutan, pendampingan usaha, pembentukan kawasan ekonomi terpadu berbasis teripang, serta integrasi kebijakan lintas sektor untuk memastikan dampak jangka panjang dan keberlanjutan ekologis dalam meningkatkan ekonomi maritim Masyarakat Kabupaten Bima.

Abstract

Abstrak Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan pada tanggal 18 Mei 2024 yang berlokasi di Desa Teluk Santong Kecamatan Plampang Kabupaten Sumbawa-NTB. Mitra kelompok tani ternak bernama “Putra Ano Siup” yang berdiri pada tanggal 3 Mei 2023 dan beranggotakan 10 orang dan pada saat hari kegiatan diikuti oleh 20 orang peserta. Permasalahan yang dihadapi adalah masih rendahnya tingkat produktivitas ternak yang disebabkan oleh kurangnya pengetahuan peternak dalam hal manajemen pemberian pakan, terutama dalam hal kecukupan nutrisi. Salah satu solusi yang dapat diterapkan adalah penggunaan aplikasi QR&Barcode Scanner yang dapat membantu peternak dalam mengevaluasi kualitas dan kecukupan nutrisi pakan secara mudah dan akurat. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peternak dalam memanfaatkan teknologi digital guna mendukung produktivitas dan kesejahteraan ternak mereka. Dengan demikian, diharapkan produktivitas ternak di desa ini akan meningkat, yang pada akhirnya dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan ekonomi masyarakat setempat. Metode kegiatan meliputi sosialisasi tentang pentingnya manajemen pemberian pakan yang baik dan benar bagi ternak ruminasisa khususnya dalam hal kecukupan nutrisi serta dikemas dengan pengenalan terhadap aplikasi QR&Barcode Scanner tersebut. Disimpulkan bahwa secara mayoritas, tingkat pemahaman peternak terhadap cara evaluasi kecukupan nutrisi ternak dan pemanfaatan aplikasi tersebut setelah dilaksanakan kegiatan sosialisasi bekisar 80%-90%. Hal ini dapat digunakan sebagai indikasi bahwa kegiatan telah berhasil dan mendapat respon yang baik dari peternak dan sebanyak 75% peserta bersedia menerapkan hal tersebut. Kata kunci: sosialisasi; QR code; evaluasi nutrisi; teluk santong. Abstract The partner organisation engaged in community service activities is the Livestock Farmer Group, designated as 'Putra Ano Siup', situated in Teluk Santong Village, Plampang District, Sumbawa Regency-NTB. The issue at hand is the low level of livestock productivity, which is a consequence of the lack of knowledge among farmers with regard to feeding management, particularly in terms of nutritional adequacy. One potential solution is the utilisation of QR and barcode scanner applications, which could assist farmers in the evaluation of feed quality and nutritional adequacy in a convenient and accurate manner. The objective of this activity is to enhance the knowledge and capabilities of farmers in leveraging digital technology to enhance the productivity and well-being of their livestock. It is therefore anticipated that there will be an increase in livestock productivity in this village, which will in turn lead to an improvement in the economic welfare of the local community. The activity method comprises a socialisation session on the importance of good and correct feeding management for ruminants, with a particular focus on nutritional adequacy. This is complemented by an introduction to the QR&Barcode Scanner application. It was determined that the majority of farmers demonstrated an understanding of the evaluation of livestock nutritional adequacy and the utilisation of the application following the socialisation activity, with a level of comprehension ranging from 80% to 90%. This can be considered an indicator of the activity's efficacy and the positive response it received from farmers, with as many as 75% of participants expressing a willingness to implement it. Keywords: socialisation; QR Code; nutrition evaluation; teluksantong.
