Abstract

This study aims to describe the model of academic supervision for the Early Childhood Education (PAUD) that has been implemented so far. The research subjects consist of supervisors, principals, and teachers of the early childhood education in the municipality of Semarang. Data were drawn using interviews, questionnaires, and documentary studies. The data were then analyzed employing descriptive analysis. This research used non-probability sampling technique with purposive sampling. The results show that the supervisory activities carried out during this time were still separated from the elements of supervision, there has been no collaboration between supervisors, principals, and teachers in the planning, implementation, method, and follow-up activities. During this period of time, the supervisors performed their duties based on work programs that had been designed without any input which was needed by the teacher, and there was no opportunity to inform obstacles during the learning process and there was no communication with the supervisor. This has made the supervision activities were not on the basis of the teachers’ problems but rather on the basis of the academic supervision activity for the PUD there is no good cooperation and communication between the supervisor, principal, and teacher; the supervision is still separated and there is no collaboration. It is recommended to realize the need for the development of collaborative-based supervision model in PAUD institutions so that the supervision activities are in accordance with the needs of teachers in learning.

Abstract

Early childhood education (PAUD) is an education at the level prior to the primary education that has a very important role in preparing future generations. One of the activities undertaken in an effort to improve the professionalism of early childhood education teachers is supervized by supervisors and principals. However, the academic supervision approach used currently is not in accordance with the needs of the early childhood education teachers. This study aims to (1) describe and analyze the current supervision model in Semarang Municipality; (2) describe and analyze the hypothetical model of collaborative supervision for PAUD teachers. This study uses a modified vrsion of Borg and Gall’s research and development (R & D) approach. The subjects of this research were PAUD supervisor and principal as well as PAUD teacher in Semarang Municipality. Data were drawn using interview techniques, questionnaires, documentation, and forum group discussions (FGD). The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis technique which included an analysis of the experts and practitioners’ validation sheets. The preliminary study yielded a factual model which shows that the supervision carried out by the PAUD supervisor has not been routine; the supervision program that he/she created is still a combination of kindergarten and elementary school programs; there has been no collaboration between supervisor and teacher; the results of the supervision have not been discussed with the teacher; there has been no follow up to the results of supervision. The conceptual model in this study was designed in accordance with the collaborative academic supervision theory that there is an agreement between supervisor and teacher therough which the supervision stages included planning, implementation, evaluation, and follow up. The results of the model development include the addition of the follow-up stage that includes monitoring the results of the supervision and guidance on a regular basis to improve the professionalism of the PAUD teachers.

Abstract

Abstract

Myth is not a lie. It is a belief that is adopted by people because it seems make sense, true, and consistent with at least some evidence. It is not true or at least not entirely true. However, until now people still believe in the myths about online learning, whatever they are, including learning loss. Online educational world is somewhat dominated by ridiculous myths; they are dangerous since they can retard positive changes in such world. There have been identified several myths which retard and even endanger online learning, especially learning loss as well as ways to prevent and critiques to them. Apparently, self-reflection is the key to break through the dangerous eight myths of learning loss. We believe that “corona children” or kids who were born during the covid-19 pandemic have learned much than the previous generation; they are more resilient, knowledgeable, creative, and have more potential than that of previous generation because things they have been through have given them more progress in many ways we might have never thought before. Thus, educators and policy makers are expected to be part of children’s learning facilitators in the new normal era, respect any learning places, and encourage places which facilitate students’ learning development.

Abstract

This study explores the influence of coding for all on enhancing creative thinking skills among elementary students. 21st Century skills are essential abilities that help people work well with others, think of new ideas, speak clearly, and solve problems in this era world. It focuses in particular on the key soft skills competencies known as the "4Cs": creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication. They are called "soft skills" because they are about working with people and ideas, not just using machines or following set rules. Creative thinking development is crucial for elementary school students as positively impacts their growth and learning process.According to Resnick et al. (2009), about the theory of coding for All, the aspiration to provide equal access and opportunity to the entire student population, regardless of their background or interests. This idea is based on the belief that coding for all is not only a technical skill, but also a powerful tool for stimulating creative thinking skill. The objective of this study is: 1. Identify Coding for all can increase the creativity of elementary students. 2. Improving of Creative Thinking Skill through Coding for all at Elementary Students. Following a search, a large amount of literature was found, and after selection, it included the following 5 sources about improving creative thinking skill by using coding for all. This study succeeded found 4 results from 5 article sources. The implication of this study is to provide socialization and innovation related to interactive learning media that supports the improvement of creative thinking in students with the aim of shaping student creativity and getting to know more intelligence in each student.

Abstract

The critical phase of rice plants on water availability includes the vegetative phase when tillering stage, generative phase 1 at panicle initiation stage and generative phase 2 when booting stage. The lack of water in the vegetative phase and in the generative phase will disturb the growth of rice plants. However, if the water needs are fulfilled immediately, the plants will recover and able to grow normally. The ability of plants to do recovery can be improved through the application of potassium fertilizer. This research aimed to determine the optimum dosage of potassium fertilizer when drought occurs in several critical phases to improve the recovery capability of the rice plant. This experiment used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 2 factors where the first factor was the dosage of potassium fertilizer using KCl fertilizer which was 50 kg/ha, 75 kg/ha, 100 kg/ha and 125 kg/ha. The second factor was the difference in the phase of stress, namely the vegetative phase at the time of tillering, the generative phase 1 at panicle initiation and the generative phase 2 when booting. Each treatment combination was repeated 3 times. Observation variables included Rice grain weight per clump, Proline content, Root Dry Weight, Relative Water Content (RWC) leaves, and Height of plants. The results of the study proved that the best dosage of KCl fertilizer to improve rice recovery ability is 100 kg/ha. Rice plants gripped in the vegetative phase have better recovery capabilities than those gripped in the generative phase. Keywords: Recovery, rice, drought stress and potassium.
