Abstract

This paper presents the results of research on the design of geopolymer concrete mixes. The main objective of this research is to develop an efficient and easy design of low-alkaline activator geopolymer concrete mixture, which until now has been the biggest obstacle in the use of geopolymer concrete. The variables reviewed were the amount of alkaline activator was quite low at 4%, room temperature and 60oC ratio of alkaline activator/fly ash (AAS/FA) were 0.35, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6. The test results show the parameters of geopolymer concrete with low alkali activator 4%, sodium silicate/sodium hydroxide ratio 2.5%, sodium hydroxide molarity 14M, type F fly ash and the discovery of the relationship model of compressive strength and the ratio of alkali activator/fly ash with a very high correlation as basic development of geopolymer concrete mix design. The design of the geopolymer concrete mix developed is easy because it is application-based and efficient because it only requires 4% alkaline activator.

Abstract

No-Fines Concrete is a lighter type of porous concrete, which is made by removing sand from conventional concrete mixes. Fly Ash is a by-product waste from Steam Power Plants (PLTU) which use coal as fuel, in the form of fine, light, round particles and has pozzolanic properties. This research aims to evaluate the effect of using fly ash in No-Fines concrete in extreme environments, especially in peat swamp environments. The use of No-Fines concrete as a construction material is expected to reduce dependence on natural sand and utilize industrial waste such as fly ash. The peat swamp environment which has the characteristics of acidic and porous soil provides its own challenges in construction, so concrete with appropriate mechanical and physical properties is needed. The research results are expected to show that the addition of fly ash can improve the technical properties of concrete, especially in terms of strength and durability in peat swamp environments. It is hoped that it will contribute to developing environmentally friendly concrete materials and supporting the sustainability of construction in areas with extreme soil conditions. Apart from that, the use of fly ash as an additional material can help reduce industrial waste, while producing concrete that is economical and efficient to use.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Indonesian contractors are facing pressure due to the domino effect of the Russia-Ukraine war. Which triggered a spike in commodity prices, including construction materials. High inflation and rising fuel prices apparently also had an impact on PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA). The BUMN works asked the owners to adjust the contract price. The government has given the green light regarding proposals for price adjustments or contract escalations for infrastructure projects running in the 2022 fiscal year. Based on the above background. This research is an in-depth study to dissect further the analysis of profit projections due to the influence of escalation carried out by the review of the Ameroro Dam Project, Southeast Sulawesi. The research strategy used is literature study and data analysis of the Cost Budget Plan (RAB) for the Ameroro Dam project in Southeast Sulawesi including: Bill of Quantity Data, (ii) Work Unit Price Analysis (AHSP) Data, (iii) Material Price List and (iv) Work Wage Price List. Then a projection of the adjustment value is carried out with projection i using the BPS price index value and projection ii using the Pertamina economic price index. The results from adjustments to projection I amounted to IDR 15,548,548,165 and projection II amounted to IDR 44,854,254,042. From the results of these adjustments, we obtained an increase in the projected contract value i of 2% from the contract value to IDR 1,016,698,604,665 and an increase in the projected contract value i of 4% from the contract value to IDR 1,046,004,310,542. Based on the projection data, there are differences in the adjusted price values. From this data it can be concluded that the index data used is closer to using Pertamina's economic index data.        Keywords: Escalation, Job Unit Price Analysis, Fuel Industry, Reinforced Steel

Abstract

Several compounds that can boost immune activity (immunostimulatory) include vitamin E, curcumin, flavonoids, and vitamin C. In this study, ascorbic acid or vitamin C, was used as one method to enhance the immune system. This study aims to determine the immunostimulatory effect of vitamin C on the phagocytosis activity of macrophages in mice induced by Staphylococcus aureus. The mice were divided into two groups: the control group, which received 0.3 ml of distilled water orally, and the treatment group, which received 0.036 mg/g BW of vitamin C orally for 14 days. On the 15th day, each mouse was intraperitoneally induced with 0.5 mL of Staphylococcus aureus bacterial suspension and left for two hours. The phagocytic activity value represents the percentage of active macrophage cells among all macrophages observed. The result showed that the value of % phagocytic activity in the control group was 21.43% ± 7.92, whereas the % phagocytic activity in the treatment group was 48.31% ± 22.27. The group of mice given vitamin C 0.036 mg/g BW orally showed increased phagocytic activity compared to the control group mice. This shows that vitamin C has potential as an immunostimulator.
