Abstract

Preterm labor, defined as the onset of labor before 37 weeks of gestation, is a leading cause of neonatal morbidity and mortality. Effective management strategies are essential to delay delivery and improve neonatal outcomes. This study aims to compare the effectiveness and safety of Magnesium Sulfate-Nifedipine and Isoxsuprine-Nifedipine in managing preterm labor, focusing on success rates of tocolysis, maternal and neonatal outcomes, and associated side effects. A prospective randomized trial was conducted at Tangerang City General Hospital, involving 64 pregnant women with preterm labor. Participants were divided into two groups: Group 1 (Magnesium Sulfate-Nifedipine) and Group 2 (Isoxsuprine-Nifedipine), with 32 patients in each. Magnesium Sulfate-Nifedipine showed a significantly higher success rate of tocolysis (93.75%) compared to Isoxsuprine-Nifedipine (81.25%; p=0.002). In cases with cervical dilatation >1 cm, success rates were 90.0% for Group 1 and 44.4% for Group 2 (p=0.033). Similarly, for effacement >25%, success rates were 85.7% for Group 1 versus 16.7% for Group 2 (p=0.009). None showed cardiovascular side effects such as tachycardia or hypotension. Magnesium Sulfate-Nifedipine shows superior efficacy in treating preterm labor, especially in patients with advanced cervical changes. Both regimens were safe, with minimal side effects.

Abstract

The dairy goat farming business is quite developed in Agam Regency, one of which is the Muda Mandiri farmer group in Nagari Sungai Pua, Sungai Pua District. This group has 11 members of peranakan etawa goat breeders with 30 goats. The purpose of this activity is to apply sugarcane tops fermentation technology as an alternative forage feed for ruminants to improve the feed efficiency of dairy goats. The activity method includes several stages. Fisrt, concept introduction and counselling to farmer groups on forage feed management and the benefits of sugarcane tops fermentation were conducted. Second, a demonstration of the fermentation process began with chopping sugarcane tops, mixing them with Pleurotus ostreatus mold and adding bran. This mixture was stored in an airtight container for 21 days. Third, the fermented products were tested directly as feed for dairy goats to evaluate their palatability and impact on milk production. Important results showed that although milk production was almost the same as the previous feed of field grass, fermented sugarcane tops could replace up to 30% of field grass use. This reduced the need for farmers to search for grass every day, improving time and labor efficiency in feed preparation. In conclusion, fermented sugarcane tops is an effective and easy-to-implement technology to support the provision of efficient alternative feed for dairy goat farmers, thereby helping to ease the farmer’s workload.

Abstract

The issuance of the Certificate of Proper Function (SLF) constitutes the final stage in ensuring that a building complies with safety, health, comfort, and accessibility (K4) requirements, as mandated by Government Regulation No. 16 of 2021. This study analyzes the role of the Construction Management Consultant (CMC) in optimizing regulatory compliance for SLF in the Integrated Lecture Building and Fisipol Building Project at Universitas Tidar Magelang. A descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach was employed, involving interviews, field observations, and document reviews. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles & Huberman. The findings reveal that the CMC plays a crucial role in enhancing SLF compliance through three primary functions: (1) Preventive auditing of the Detailed Engineering Design (DED), which identified design discrepancies and potential risks; (2) Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) based on SNI 2847:2019 and SNI 1726:2019 to ensure construction accuracy; and (3) Functional system verification, including assessment of MEP and fire protection systems through installation evaluation and commissioning tests. These optimized functions significantly improved project compliance with SLF requirements and minimized legal risks. The study recommends the development of internal operational standards and the adoption of BIM to strengthen documentation and streamline SLF regulatory verification.
