Abstract

The research aims to determine the species richness, diversity and distribution of mangrove populations in forest areas, which is one of the parameters of forest health in the Passo Village’s mangrove forest. It was conducted from July to August 2023 on Ambon Island using the Forest Health Monitoring Field Methods Guide. The research covered 2 hectares of mangrove forest with 3 clusters of 12 observation plots. It was found that seven species of mangroves were found in the area, namely Sonneratia alba,  Rhizophorastylosa, Avicennia marina, Aegiceras corniculatum, Bruguiera gymnorrhyza and Bruguiera parviflora. Cluster 1 had 260 trees. Cluster 2 had 321 trees, and Cluster 3 had 193 trees. The highest value of mangrove species richness was at the sapling level of 1,003. Meanwhile, the species diversity was classified as low at only 0.701 at the seedling level. The highest density of the Sonneratia alba species was 4,290, the species dominance of the Sonneratia alba was 22,240, and the highest importance index occupied by the Sonneratia alba was 160.95. Considering the low level of mangrove forest biodiversity on Ambon Island, rehabilitation and reforestation efforts are needed to maintain the quality and health of the ecosystem, especially in facing the impact of climate change on small islands.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the traditional Balinese philosophy Tri Hita Karana within the modern corporate work culture of Medi Group, a locally owned business in Bali. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, this research explores how Tri Hita Karana, which emphasizes harmonious relationships between humans and God (Parahyangan), among humans (Pawongan), and between humans and nature (Palemahan), can be integrated into modern organizational practices. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with key informants, including the CEO and Chief Human Officer of Medi Group, supported by observations and document analysis. Using Edgar Schein’s Organizational Culture Theory, the study analyzes the cultural layers of the company, specifically through its core corporate values known as "GREAT" (Grateful, Respectful, Empower, Abundance, Trust). The findings reveal that Tri Hita Karana principles have been effectively incorporated into Medi Group’s organizational culture, influencing company values, employee behavior, internal regulations, and visual symbols. This integration demonstrates that traditional philosophies can coexist with modern business practices, fostering both cultural preservation and sustainable corporate development. The study provides practical implications for other companies in Bali to adopt local wisdom in their corporate governance to enhance social and environmental harmony.

Abstract

The construction of the Gemolong Police Sector Headquarters (Mako Polsek Gemolong) and public facilities in Sragen is a state-owned project built from June 4, 2024, to October 31, 2024. This facility serves as a center for public services and complaints to the Indonesian National Police. The construction includes four detention rooms, each with a maximum capacity of five detainees. These detention rooms are not intended for permanent detention but as temporary holding cells before transfer to permanent prisons. This study assesses the effectiveness of implementing quality, cost, and time management during the construction process. The analytical method used involves comparing the implementation of quality management with the Technical Specifications, comparing the Project Implementation Budget Plan (RAP) with the contractual Budget Plan (RAB), and comparing the initial work schedule (Time Schedule) with the actual field implementation. The findings show that quality management during the construction of the Gemolong Police Headquarters and public facilities met the required technical specifications. However, cost management was deemed unsuccessful because the implementation cost reached IDR 3,625,017,095.07, exceeding the contractual value of IDR 3,414,445,000.00, resulting in the failure to achieve the expected 10% profit margin. Time management was also considered unsuccessful due to a 30-working-day delay in project completion. Based on these results, it is recommended that the Commitment-Making Officer (PPK) review the application of contractual provisions in construction projects and that relevant stakeholders pay greater attention to the implementation of quality, cost, and time management principles in future projects.

Abstract

CV Kharisma Lestari is a retail business that faces obstacles in its sales and inventory management systems due to its continued use of manual processes. This study aims to develop a Point of Sales (POS) Information System by applying the prototyping method to improve the operational efficiency of CV Kharisma Lestari. The prototyping method was chosen for its ability to actively involve users from the early stages, so that the resulting system can meet their needs and expectations. This study uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach with prototyping stages : communication, quick plan, modeling quick design, construction of prototype, and deployment delivery and feedback. The results of the study show that the POS system developed successfully automates the sales transaction process, manages inventory data in real-time, and generates accurate inventory and sales reports. The implementation of this system has a significant impact on reducing transaction time by up to 70% and increasing inventory data accuracy. The System Usability Scale (SUS) test on the system resulted in a score of 85.8, which indicates a very high level of user acceptance (usability). Thus, the prototyping method has proven to be effective in producing an information system that is not only functional but also easy to use, as it is able to capture user needs and feedback.

Abstract

Construction projects often face challenges in the form of delays and cost overruns due to discrepancies between plans and actual implementation. The Dormitory Building at Airlangga University Campus C in Surabaya was selected as a case study to comprehensively evaluate project performance. The purpose of this study is to evaluate time and cost performance using the Earned Value Management (EVM) method to provide an accurate picture of the deviations that occur and as a basis for project control recommendations. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach with secondary data in the form of weekly progress reports, basic schedules, and project financial records. The analysis was conducted through the calculation of EVM indicators, which included Planned Value (PV), Earned Value (EV), Actual Cost (AC), Cost Performance Index (CPI), Schedule Performance Index (SPI), and Estimate at Completion (EAC). The results show that the project experienced delays with an average Schedule Performance Index (SPI) value of 0.92, or approximately 8% behind schedule, while the average Cost Performance Index (CPI) value of 1.05 indicates cost efficiency of 5% compared to the initial budget. The Estimated Cost at Completion (EAC) projects a completion cost of IDR 94.8 billion, which is lower than the contract value of IDR 95.6 billion. Therefore, the project is still under control in terms of cost but requires accelerated work to meet deadlines, while the application of EVM has proven to be effective as an early warning tool and a basis for decision-making in construction project management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the structural behavior of Modified T-Stub steel connections under cyclic loading, with the expectation that the results can be applied to steel construction in Indonesia, particularly for structures requiring high seismic performance. In this research, conventional 4ES and Double T-Connections were modified into Modified T-Stub configurations to improve their deformation capacity, strength, and energy dissipation performance. Experimental cyclic loading tests were conducted to evaluate the structural response of the modified connections, focusing on parameters such as strength, stiffness degradation, and drift capacity. Two test specimens were used, namely WF 450×200×9×14 and WF 500×200×10×16, which represent commonly used steel profiles in Indonesian construction practice. Numerical simulations were also performed to support and validate the experimental results. The test results indicate that both specimens exhibited stable hysteretic behavior and satisfactory performance under repeated cyclic loading. The numerical analysis showed that the connections were able to achieve drift ratios of up to 5% radian, while the experimental tests demonstrated drift capacities of approximately 4% radian without significant strength degradation or premature failure. These findings demonstrate that the Modified T-Stub connections meet the performance requirements for certified Special Moment Connections (SMC). This study provides valuable insights into the development of high-performance steel connection systems and contributes to enhancing the safety, efficiency, and structural quality of steel buildings in seismic regions of Indonesia.
