Abstract

This research assesses the competency and skill requirements for Seaplane aircraft maintenance in the pilot education program at the Indonesian Pilot Academy Banyuwangi. Utilizing qualitative methods, including in-depth interviews and direct observation, the study involves students and teachers in the pilot education program. Analysis reveals crucial competencies for students, encompassing a profound understanding of Seaplane aircraft systems, adept problem-solving during operations, and the capacity for quick and precise decision-making. Special skills, such as adaptability to complex working conditions and meticulousness in maintenance procedures, are also deemed essential. The research identifies alignment between the academy's curriculum and Seaplane aircraft maintenance needs, yet highlights specific areas requiring enhancement. The study recommends strengthening the curriculum and teaching methods to better address competency and skill needs. Implementing these recommendations is anticipated to elevate the quality of graduates, ensuring they are well-equipped to meet the challenges of Seaplane aircraft maintenance in the aviation industry.

Abstract

Mikrokontroler merupakan alat sistem kendali perangkat elektronika yang dibangun untuk dapat mematikan dan menghidupkan perangkat elektronika. Arduino merupakan salah satu mikrontroler yang mudah diaplikasikan untuk sistem kendali teknologi sederhana, seperti: keran otomatis, sistem kontrol rumah, sistem pengaman cerdas dan lain-lain. Langkah-langkah proses pembuatan meliputi: perancangan sistem, pemilihan sensor dan aktuator, sistem otomasi, desain kontrol, pembuatan perangkat keras dan pembuatan perangkat lunak. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dasar dan peningkatan keterampilan tentang pembuatan karya teknologi sederhana menggunakan mikrokontroler Arduino kepada siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) Al-Husna, Bandar Lampung. Selain itu, kegiatan pengabdian ini juga diharapkan dapat menjadi salah satu sarana peningkatan pemahaman dan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap Jurusan Teknik Mesin, Fakultas Teknik (FT) Universitas Lampung (Unila). Hasil free test dan post test menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan peserta meningkat secara signifikan untuk semua materi yang disampaikan. Jumlah peserta mengerti yang awalnya hanya berkisar antara 27-30% setelah diberikan materi menjadi meningkat drastis hingga kisaran jumlah peserta yang mengerti mencapai 90%. Dengan adanya hasil yang positif tersebut, diharapkan kegiatan diseminasi teknologi maju oleh Dosen FT Unila dari berbagai jurusan diharapkan dapat ditingkatkan lagi di masa yang akan datang.

Abstract

Bagasse waste, a by-product of the sugar production process, has received attention as a biomass fuel. This bagasse waste can be utilized directly as boiler fuel for industrial needs. The effect of bagasse waste quality on boiler efficiency needs to be investigated to determine its potential as an alternative fuel. Sugarcane bagasse waste used as a boiler is first analyzed for quality such as Calorific Value, and ultimate and proximate analysis. Furthermore, the effect of using bagasse on boiler efficiency was observed. These data are taken from the boiler daily log book and laboratory. Analysis of the data obtained shows the optimal calorific value of the fuel used reaches 2347.48 kcal/kg. then, the most optimal boiler efficiency reaches 70.34%. While the heat losses that have been calculated reach up to 28%. The results of this study contribute to a broader understanding of the interaction of biomass fuel quality and industrial boiler performance, thus providing valuable insights for sustainable sugarcane waste management in the context of renewable energy production and environmental sustainability

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of intelligence quotient (IQ) and learning styles on students’ learning motivation and mathematics achievement among tenth-grade high school students. The research employed a quantitative approach using an ex post facto design. A total of 83 students participated in the study, selected through a census sampling technique, as the entire population of tenth-grade students was included. Instruments used in this study included an IQ test, a learning style questionnaire (covering auditory, visual, and kinesthetic styles), a motivation questionnaire, and a mathematics achievement test. Data analysis involved instrument validity and reliability testing, classical assumption tests (normality and homogeneity), and multivariate analysis (MANOVA) to assess both the direct and interaction effects of IQ and learning styles on learning motivation and mathematics achievement. The results showed that IQ had a significant effect on mathematics achievement (p < 0.05), but no significant effect on learning motivation. Learning styles did not significantly influence either mathematics achievement or learning motivation. Furthermore, there was no significant interaction between IQ and learning styles in relation to either outcome. The coefficient of determination (R²) indicated that the model explained 26.3% of the variance in mathematics achievement and 16.5% of the variance in learning motivation. It can be concluded that IQ contributes to students’ success in mathematics, while learning motivation and performance are also shaped by other factors beyond IQ and learning styles. These findings highlight the importance of instructional strategies that consider students’ intellectual capacities along with affective and contextual factors

Abstract

Hospitals, as public service institutions, have a responsibility to integrate environmental aspects into their managerial practices. This study analyzes the influence of green accounting and environmental performance on managerial performance at Rumah Sakit Mata Undaan Surabaya. Data were collected from 39 managerial-level respondents and analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) method with the help of SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results show that green accounting has a positive and significant effect on managerial performance, supporting the stakeholder theory perspective. In contrast, environmental performance has a negative but insignificant effect on managerial performance. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening sustainability strategies in hospital managerial decision-making to create long-term sustainable value.

Abstract

effectiveness of Apron Movement Control (AMC) supervision in developing a safety culture at the apron of a major airport in North Sumatra. It was motivated by a collision between a Lavatory Service Truck (LST) and a Boeing 737-800 aircraft on October 16, 2024, caused by personnel negligence, unserviceable equipment, and weak supervision. Methodology: A qualitative case study approach was applied. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed thematically using NVivo 15. The ORLIO model was employed to evaluate human error. Result: The study identified repeated violations—normalization of deviance among Ground Support Equipment (GSE) personnel, limited AMC supervision, and non-compliant equipment. ORLIO-based evaluation enhanced personnel reflection and safety awareness, while AMC supervision acted as external enforcement. The synergy between reflection and supervision contributed to a shift in apron safety culture from permissive toward a more mature and sustainable one. Conclusions: The apron accident shows that safety failures stem not only from individual errors but also from the interaction of human, equipment, and supervisory factors. Integrating ORLIO and AMC supervision effectively enhances safety awareness and procedural discipline. Limitations: The study is limited to one airport, with qualitative data that may involve subjectivity. It focuses on operational staff, excluding higher management, and does not assess long-term impacts quantitatively. Contribution: The study was limited to one airport, so findings may not represent all contexts. It contributes to aviation safety management by demonstrating how combining human error evaluation and AMC supervision strengthens apron safety culture, offering practical insights for airport authorities and regulators.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh proses torefaksi pada wood pellet berbahan limbah furniture campuran terhadap nilai kalor dan sifat kimia sampel. Sampel wood pellet terdiri dari 80% kayu keras (Meranti, Merbau, Ulin, Mahoni, Keruing) dan 20% kayu lunak (Sengon, Pinus), diproses melalui torefaksi pada temperatur 250°C, 275°C, dan 300°C selama 30 menit. Pengujian nilai kalor dilakukan untuk menentukan peningkatan energi, dan analisis proximate serta ultimate dilakukan untuk mengetahui perubahan sifat kimia. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa nilai kalor meningkat secara signifikan setelah proses torefaksi, dengan peningkatan tertinggi pada temperatur 300°C mencapai 5.161 kkal/kg atau naik sekitar 32,3% dibandingkan nilai kalor awal 3.902 kkal/kg. Uji proximate menunjukkan peningkatan kandungan karbon tetap dan abu, serta penurunan kadar air dan zat volatil. Uji ultimate menunjukkan peningkatan kadar karbon hingga 60,19% dan penurunan kadar oksigen hingga 26,61% pada temperatur 300°C. Selain itu, torefaksi meningkatkan sifat hidrofobik wood pellet, terbukti dari ketahanan terhadap perendaman air yang lebih tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa torefaksi pada temperatur tinggi (300°C) secara efektif meningkatkan kualitas energi dan kestabilan wood pellet, menjadikannya alternatif bahan bakar biomassa yang lebih efisien dan tahan terhadap kelembapan.

Abstract

Program ini dilaksanakan di Universitas Lampung dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa Teknik Mesin dalam menghadapi tantangan yang ditimbulkan oleh Revolusi Industri 4.0. Mengingat pentingnya kesiapan lulusan dalam mengadaptasi teknologi baru dan memenuhi tuntutan dunia kerja, fokus utama program ini adalah pada tiga aspek: Inovasi dan Kewirausahaan, Profesionalisme dan Budaya K3, serta Sinergi antara Kampus dan Industri. Program ini bertujuan untuk membekali mahasiswa dengan keterampilan teknis dan non-teknis yang relevan dengan kebutuhan industri digital. Metode yang digunakan dalam program ini meliputi pre-test dan post-test, diskusi kelompok, serta simulasi berbasis industri. Evaluasi yang dilakukan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman yang signifikan dari mahasiswa dalam setiap topik. Mahasiswa berhasil mengidentifikasi peluang inovatif di sektor teknologi serta memahami pentingnya kolaborasi antara dunia akademik dan industri. Selain itu, kolaborasi ini juga membantu mahasiswa untuk memahami dan menerapkan budaya K3 dalam konteks Industri 4.0. Hasil dari program ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa telah berhasil dipersiapkan untuk berinovasi, berkolaborasi dengan industri, serta mengintegrasikan prinsip keselamatan dan profesionalisme dalam pekerjaan mereka. Program ini diharapkan dapat berkontribusi dalam menghasilkan lulusan yang siap menghadapi tantangan dunia industri yang terus berkembang.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this community service program in Pesawaran Indah Village is to introduce sustainable drying technology powered by Micro-Hydro Power Plants (PLTMH) to improve the efficiency and quality of post-harvest processing in the village's coffee, cocoa, clove, and nutmeg farming sectors. Methodology: The program utilized a community-based approach that involved socializing the benefits of PLTMH-powered drying technology, determining strategic locations for its implementation, and constructing a drying machine with a capacity of 4 x 20 kg. The program also focused on enhancing the community's knowledge of energy sources and drying techniques through workshops and discussions. Results: The program successfully increased community awareness of energy-efficient drying technology, with understanding rising from 20% to 80%. The construction of the drying machine was completed, and the community was encouraged to adopt this technology, which is expected to enhance agricultural product quality, promote sustainable energy use, and empower local farmers. Conclusion: The program effectively introduced a sustainable technology that supports local agricultural practices and promotes the use of renewable energy. The adoption of this technology is expected to benefit the community by improving post-harvest processing and increasing the value of agricultural products. Limitations: The program's scope was limited to a small-scale implementation, and further efforts are needed to monitor its long-term impact on product quality and community adoption. Contribution: This community service program contributes to promoting sustainable agricultural practices and renewable energy use in rural communities, offering a model for enhancing local economic development through appropriate technology.

Abstract

Growing environmental degradation has become a pressing global issue, highlighting the importance of education in shaping the environmental awareness of the younger generation. This study aims to fill the gap in the literature regarding the contribution of schools in building sustainable learning ecosystems that promote environmental awareness among students. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach in several schools that implement environmental education programs. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with principals, teachers, and students, observation of school activities, and document analysis of environment-related education policies. The results showed that the integration of environmental issues in the curriculum, the implementation of nature-based extracurricular programs, and the management of environmentally friendly school facilities play a significant role in building students' awareness of sustainability. Activities such as reforestation, waste management and environmental campaigns allow students to be directly involved in sustainability practices, which in turn increases their understanding of and responsibility for environmental conservation. The involvement of various stakeholders, including families and communities, to support the creation of an effective learning ecosystem. This research provides strategic recommendations for policy makers to design a more integrated and impactful environmental education program. This research is expected to serve as a guide in efforts to strengthen environmental awareness through an educational approach
