Abstract

Purpose – This study examines how Islamic values are internalised and sustained among Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) students at a regional Indonesian campus, addressing the gap between moral knowing and moral action and the conditions that stabilise practice. Design/methods/approach – A qualitative case study was conducted at   (Universitas Negeri Makassar) Campus V, Parepare using purposive sampling: 30 PGSD students, one Islamic Religious Education (PAI) lecturer, three lecturers involved in character initiatives, and two da’wah-organisation administrators. Data comprised participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. Analysis followed Miles–Huberman procedures; trustworthiness was enhanced through triangulation, member checking, and peer debriefing. Ethical clearance was obtained. The study was guided by Lickona’s moral knowing–feeling–action and Self-Determination Theory. Findings – Four reinforcing mechanisms structure a pathway from knowledge to practice: (i) PAI pedagogy; (ii) campus religious activities; (iii) worship journaling; and (iv) lecturer exemplarity supported by facilities/culture. Internalised values include faith–piety, honesty–trustworthiness, a clarified distinction between discipline (temporal order) and istiqamah (cross-week steadiness), and tolerance. Enablers comprise intrinsic motivation, family/community continuity, lecturer modelling, and fit-for-purpose facilities; barriers include heterogeneous motivation, academic fatigue, misaligned home rhythms, uneven modelling, scheduling frictions, and digital distraction. Participation was more focused when ≥ 3 mechanisms operated within a week, a pattern recurrent across weeks and settings. Research implications – Recommend a weekly cycle (class stimulus to collective engagement to reflective journaling to exemplarity/ambient cues), protected prayer-time windows, SOPs for lecturer exemplarity, facility optimisation, light peer review of journals, family briefs for commuters, digital-hygiene routines, schedule de-confliction, and recovery-time metrics.

Abstract

This study examines the strategic role of Islamic Religious Education in primary schools/madrasahs in shaping students' self-control and moral character in the era of digitalisation. Using the Systematic Literature Review method with the PRISMA approach, this study analyses ten scientific publications from 2022-2025 that are relevant to the research theme. The findings show that the transformation of Islamic Religious Education methodology in SD/MI through the integration of digital technology can increase the effectiveness of learning and the internalisation of Islamic values. Moral education acts as a protective barrier against the negative impacts of technology, including digital addiction, cyberbullying, and moral degradation. Islamic Religious Education teachers in SD/MI have a strategic function as transformative facilitators who combine pedagogical-digital competencies with spiritual mentoring. The implementation of a holistic approach through multi-stakeholder collaboration between schools, families, and communities is key to shaping students' Islamic character while being technologically adaptive. The study recommends the development of a digital literacy-based PAI curriculum in SD/MI, the strengthening of teacher training programmes, and the establishment of a character education ecosystem that is responsive to the challenges of the digital age to optimise the role of PAI in shaping a generation with noble character.

Abstract

Background: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) treatment using neuropsychology has come a long way. Neurofeedback, also called EEG biofeedback, is a technique that teaches the brain to regulate its own electrical activity. Using an EEG, or electroencephalogram, device, one can see brain activity in real-time and be trained to change unbalanced or abnormal brain wave patterns. Research Purposes: This study was conducted to determine the purpose of neurofeedback, which serves to control this brain activity in a way that is comfortable and suited to the individual. During a neurofeedback session, people usually sit in front of a computer screen and see how their brain activity is depicted. Repetitive training can teach the brain to keep doing healthier activities, even after the therapy session. Method: The method used by researchers in examining the Role of Neurofeedback in the Treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder: A Neuro Psychological Perspective is to use quantitative methods. The data obtained by researchers were obtained from the results of distributing questionnaires. The questionnaire distribution carried out by researchers was carried out online by utilizing Google From software. The results of the data acquisition will also be tested again using the SPSS application. Results: From the results of the study, it can be seen that from a neuropsychological perspective, neurofeedback aids the restoration of healthy brain function through repeated and consistent learning. This process is known as neuroplasticity, where the brain reshapes and strengthens neural connections made by new experiences and practice. Therefore, neurofeedback not only reduces PTSD symptoms, but also aids in long-term recovery and improves one's quality of life. Conclusion: Researchers can conclude that from a neuropsychological point of view, neurofeedback is not only considered as a therapeutic tool, but also as an entry point to understanding and modulating human brain function during recovery from trauma. Neurofeedback also offers an innovative and science-based approach in the treatment of PTSD, potentially expanding the therapeutic options available to individuals experiencing this disorder.

Abstract

Intergenerational trauma and family resilience are critical issues that significantly impact mental health and social dynamics. This study investigates the transmission of trauma across generations and its role in perpetuating cycles of violence and abuse within families. By examining the effectiveness of family counseling as an intervention, the research seeks to identify strategies that can disrupt these harmful patterns. Utilizing a qualitative methodology, data were gathered through in-depth interviews with therapists and families affected by intergenerational trauma. The results reveal that family counseling serves as a vital tool not only for conflict resolution but also for fostering open communication, empathy, and understanding among family members. Participants reported that counseling facilitated the development of healthy coping mechanisms and strengthened family bonds, enhancing overall resilience. Furthermore, the study highlights the importance of culturally sensitive approaches in counseling to address the specific needs of families from diverse backgrounds. These findings underscore the potential of family counseling to promote healing and recovery, effectively breaking the cycle of violence and abuse. By providing a supportive environment, families can cultivate resilience, ultimately leading to healthier relationships and improved mental well-being for future generations.
