Abstract

Palembang City is renowned not only for its songkat cloth but also for its specialty foods, including noodle soup. The numerous culinary micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the city require guidance to succeed in their businesses. They need assistance in sourcing capital, developing strategies to cope with intense competition, and improving product packaging through online promotion. One such MSME is Mie Celor Poligon, located in Bukit Sejahtera Housing, Big Door Gate, Ilir Barat 1 Sub-District, Palembang City. This community service activity aims to support these MSMEs in surviving the current situation by enabling them to enhance their product packaging online, thereby increasing sales during the pandemic. Their previous packaging was overlooked and unappealing. The MSMEs currently manage online promotion and sales through limited face-to-face and online transactions, relying heavily on personal information to maximize bookings. This educational program involves counseling and coaching these MSMEs to improve their practices.

Abstract

Fried meatballs, commonly known as basreng, are a popular snack made from thinly sliced and fried processed meatballs. Typically served with a spicy seasoning and garnished with orange leaf slices, basreng has gained popularity, especially among young people. The objective of creating snack products using processed basreng is to introduce new innovations to the community surrounding the UIGM Palembang Campus, transforming viral basreng chips into a more modern food option. The manufacturing process for this basreng product differs from the traditional version. It is thinly shaped like chips instead of the usual stick form and includes a variety of spiciness levels and garnished with orange leaf slices, attracting buyers' interest. The marketing strategy involves utilizing digital marketing, such as online shops, to achieve widespread sales across various areas through social media applications, thereby increasing product demand. Consequently, the production of this innovative basreng can inspire young people to establish new Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) specializing in selling basreng products.

Abstract

During the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Indonesian government implemented Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) to curb the spread of the coronavirus. These restrictions have limited community mobility, resulting in the need for adaptation to new circumstances. The shift from in-person shopping to online platforms has become essential for fulfilling basic needs. E-commerce, the electronic buying and selling of goods, has emerged as a crucial solution. This study aims to examine whether there are differences in visits to e-commerce websites in Indonesia in light of these behavioral changes. A quantitative approach is employed, utilizing data on website visits during the COVID-19 pandemic and distributing questionnaires. The findings demonstrate that the pandemic has indeed impacted the number of visits to e-commerce websites. The increase in website visits has led to a surge in online financial transactions, a greater demand for expedited delivery services due to the high volume of products to be shipped, an increase in the requirement for packaging materials, and a higher demand for labor in product packaging services.

Abstract

Wabisabi, a store that offers a wide array of cosmetics and beauty products from leading Indonesian and international brands, is capitalizing on the momentum of rapid growth in the face and body care industry. Along with the evolution of the times and the increased understanding of women and men towards skincare needs, Wabisabi found substantial opportunities in marketing its products. With consumers increasingly open to the concept of face and body care, Wabisabi is expanding its target market, not only to women, but also to men who are increasingly concerned about their self-care. In the face of ever-changing market dynamics, Wabisabi realizes that the right marketing strategy is essential to maximize sales potential. Positive developments in people's views towards facial care products across different age groups create a solid foundation for Wabisabi's business growth. Hence, the need to implement a holistic marketing system to explore this huge opportunity. A comprehensive approach involves offline sales strategies through physical stores as well as online market penetration through social media platforms that are currently highly influential in influencing consumer behavior. The utilization of social media as a key marketing channel proves its effectiveness, given the immense influence it has on people across segments. However, awareness of the potential of offline sales also remains relevant, given that some consumers still prefer to shop in person and try products in person before deciding on a purchase.
