Abstract

Natural resources are resources acquired from the environment and can be utilized to fulfill human needs. One agricultural commodity that is abundant in this region is bananas. However, bananas that are sold directly tend to have a lower price and cannot be stored for a long time after being harvested due to their rapid ripening process, which leads to spoilage. Therefore, diversifying the product is necessary, and one way to do this is by processing bananas into chips. In this endeavor, we utilized the ABCD (Asset Based Community Development) method. Our activities aim to support the MBKM 2023 program, with a focus on creating positive change around km 20 Palembang. The assistance process involves several steps, starting from studying scenarios, uncovering the past (discovery), envisioning the future (dream), planning actions (design), engaging in participatory action (define), and finally monitoring and evaluating activities (destiny). By utilizing easily accessible raw materials, such as bananas, and adding innovative flavors, we hope to enhance the community's skills and creativity, as well as provide entrepreneurial opportunities to increase the selling value of bananas. The evaluation results indicate that the banana chip business is profitable, with an R/C ratio of 3.4. However, further evaluation and assistance in overall marketing strategy are still required.

Abstract

The challenges faced by young women are closely linked to their health, specifically anemia, characterized by a reduction in hemoglobin levels. Anemia is defined as a condition where the quantity of red blood cells is insufficient to meet the body's physiological needs. The management of anemia in adolescents has been planned through the use of blood supplement tablets (TTD). However, the consumption of TTD has not been maximized due to taste issues and side effects that manifest after intake. Moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera) are known to contain various nutritional elements, including iron, vitamin C, protein, vitamin A, calcium, and potassium, making them a potential alternative for anemia treatment. The iron content in Moringa leaves is 28.2 mg. This research adopts a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach, involving a sample size of 24 and utilizing paired t-test analysis. A significant difference was observed in Hb levels before and after the administration of Moringa leaf extract (p < 0.05). The average value before treatment was 10.83, with a standard deviation of 0.8641, and after treatment, it increased to 12.72, with a standard deviation of 0.9399. The findings indicate that Moringa leaf extract is effective in increasing hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls.

Abstract

Janji Jiwa is the most popular coffee shop, and South Sumatra is one of the provinces with the highest number of coffee drinkers and coffee shop visits nationally. Aligned with the research objectives, this article delves into consumption motives and the construction of a consumerist lifestyle among patrons of the Janji Jiwa coffee shop in Palembang City. The method employed is a qualitative approach, utilizing a single case study research type. Informant selection was carried out using purposive sampling, with the informants comprising both active consumers and observer participants. To ensure data validity and reliability, the researcher conducted a data triangulation test. A shift in consumption motives is identified, where consumption no longer solely fulfills biological needs but rather represents a form of self-actualization within the context of social significance and classification. The formation of an imaginary perspective and the construction of a consumerist lifestyle are intricately linked to complex and varied causal laws, considering aspects such as sign value, the social logic of consumption, social space, and media influence. These aspects are rich with simulations, manifested in both abstract and concrete forms. This fact serves as evidence of the rationality of contemporary society, as reflected in consumer behavior.

Abstract

In facing the ever-growing digital era, Indo Global Mandiri University (UIGM) students, as agents of change, are expected to be able to utilize e-commerce to support the Student-Based Internship Program (MBKM) with a focus on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This activity, entitled "Exploring E-Commerce MBKM UIGM Students in Supporting the MSME Program," aims to respond to digital business trends and make a positive contribution to local economic development through MSMEs. During the e-commerce exploration process, students actively participate in developing digital solutions and strategies to support MSMEs. The existence of an e-commerce platform is expected to provide added value for MSMEs, increase competitiveness, and expand market reach. The concrete steps involved in this exploration include strategic planning for e-commerce implementation, the development of a website or online trading platform, digital marketing, and performance measurement through data analysis. The application of the MBKM concept helps integrate theoretical learning with practical application, giving students real experience in entrepreneurship. The success of this program is measured through the growth of the MSMEs involved, increased income, and economic empowerment of local communities. Additionally, exploring e-commerce is also an opportunity for students to develop managerial, marketing, and information technology skills that are highly relevant to current market demands.

Abstract

Pancong Cake is a traditional cake originating from Betawi, and the name "Pancong" is derived from the Betawi language. It holds a distinct identity as a traditional Betawi cake. Over time, the Pancong Cake, once only adorned with granulated sugar, now boasts a variety of toppings to stay current with contemporary tastes. Kekinian Pancong Cake is a food establishment with a booth concept that integrates with other modified and innovated traditional food stands. Situated in the Kambang Iwak area of Palembang, South Sumatra, Pancong Kekinian Cake addresses a community service activity. This initiative presents a two-fold solution. The first solution imparts knowledge to Pancong Cake proprietors on how to create a product with the ability to capture a large market through outreach. The second solution provides examples of product strategies as reference material, presented in a relaxed discussion format while enjoying Pancong Cake. The proposed solution involves fostering collaboration between two or more third-party brands (co-branding) to enhance the product image. This, in turn, aims to bolster consumer confidence, potentially resulting in increased profits or added value to products or services resulting from the co-branding. The outcomes of this community service activity will be disseminated in an accredited national journal article. It is hoped that the concept of this activity can be implemented more broadly by Pancong Cake owners to boost sales through effective product strategies.

Abstract

Socialization of the PKM SIA program to Bank Mandiri customers through the MBKM program provides a positive contribution in increasing customer understanding of SIA and its benefits in the banking context. Students who took part in the internship program reported an increase in their understanding of the importance of AIS in supporting sound banking decisions. Several challenges related to the effectiveness of SIA socialization through PKM were also identified, such as time constraints and varying levels of understanding among customers. Therefore, it is recommended that PKM continue to improve their outreach methods, including the use of information and communication technology, as well as holding additional training sessions to ensure that customers can make maximum use of AIS.
