Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the connection between trust and governance mechanism. The governance mechanisms in this study are formal and relational governance. Formal governance is associated with the application of a formal contract and administrative control. Relational governance believes that people behavior can be controlled by social elements that result from social interaction. The data collection was obtained through face to face interview with owner-managers of 350 family firms in Indonesia. This study used factoranalysis to validate the construct and hierarchical regression to examine the hypothesis. The moderation testing indicates that trust has moderate relationship between uncertainty and formal governance. The result indicates that in the high trust situation, the impact of uncertainty on formal governance was negatively significant. It means that when people have high trust, firms who transact in uncertain environment have less required formal governance.

Abstract

Objective: This study investigates how perceived hedonic value influences online impulsive buying behavior in the context of live streaming e-commerce, emphasizing the mediating roles of positive emotions and hedonic browsing within the Stimulus–Organism–Response (S-O-R) framework. Research Design & Methods: Using an explanatory quantitative approach and purposive sampling, data were collected from 200 Indonesian consumers aged 17–44 who had purchased products via live streaming e-commerce. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.1.1.4. Findings: Perceived hedonic value significantly affects both positive emotions and hedonic browsing. However, only hedonic browsing mediates the relationship between perceived hedonic value and online impulsive buying behavior. Positive emotions show no significant mediating or direct effect. Implications & Recommendations: For practitioners, the study suggests that e-commerce platforms and marketers should design live streaming features that maximize hedonic value, foster emotional engagement, and encourage exploratory browsing to stimulate consumer impulsivity. Strategically leveraging entertainment elements, real-time interaction, and time-limited promotions can enhance customer experience and increase sales. Contribution & Value Added: This study extends digital consumer behavior literature by testing positive emotions and hedonic browsing as parallel mediators in the S-O-R framework, offering insights into the psychological mechanisms driving impulsive purchases in Indonesia’s live streaming e-commerce context.

Abstract

Abstract. This study examines the role of the creative economy in contributing to regional economic growth by synthesizing empirical findings from reputable national and international research. Utilizing a simplified Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, the analysis covers a 15-year period (2010–2025), focusing on scholarly works that link the creative and industrial economy to Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). From an initial pool of 52 relevant publications, only 25 Scopus-indexed and 5 credible non-Scopus articles met the inclusion criteria for rigorous analysis. The review reveals that the creative economy holds substantial potential to enhance regional economic performance, especially in times of economic uncertainty. However, the magnitude and nature of its impact vary based on local policy frameworks, institutional readiness, and socioeconomic contexts. Supportive innovation ecosystems and well-aligned government policies are key enablers in maximizing the sector’s productivity and resilience. Furthermore, the findings underscore the global relevance of the creative economy, highlighting its adaptability across diverse regions and economic structures. Beyond synthesizing the current literature, this study identifies critical gaps and future research directions. These include examining how the creative economy can respond to emerging global challenges such as climate change, digital transformation, and economic inequality. The integration of advanced technologies to foster creativity and innovation also emerges as a strategic imperative for sustainable regional development.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the influence of brand experience, brand engagement, and electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) on brand equity for Lenovo laptop products. The research employed a quantitative method with purposive sampling, collecting data from 160 Lenovo users in Indonesia through structured questionnaires. Data analysis utilized validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and multiple linear regression. The findings revealed that brand experience, brand engagement, and e-WOM had positive and significant effects on brand equity. Among these, e-WOM had the strongest impact, indicating the critical role of consumer communication in enhancing brand perception. Although the research successfully highlights important factors influencing brand equity, it is limited by the demographic concentration of young respondents and the reliance on self-reported data. This study contributes originality by integrating brand experience, engagement, and e-WOM in a single model within the Indonesian technology market context. It offers practical value for marketers seeking to strengthen brand positioning in increasingly digitalized markets

Abstract

This scholarly investigation aimed to explore the effects of affiliate marketing, content marketing, and product distinctiveness on the purchasing behaviors of TikTok Shop users in the fashion sector. A quantitative research design was utilized, incorporating a carefully crafted questionnaire that was administered to a cohort of 160 individuals who met specified inclusion criteria. The acquired data were analyzed through multiple linear regression methodologies to determine both the separate and combined impacts of the three independent variables. The results demonstrated that all three variables had a positive and statistically significant impact on purchasing decisions, with product distinctiveness showing the most substantial effect. The regression analysis indicated that 55.5% of the variance in purchasing decisions could be explained by these variables. Despite its meaningful contributions, the study is limited by its small sample size, regional constraints, and the exclusion of other potentially significant factors, such as pricing strategies, brand loyalty, and perceived consumer value. This research contributes to the existing literature by integrating the three marketing variables within the context of short-form video-driven e-commerce and provides practical insights for marketers seeking to enhance consumer engagement and boost sales performance on TikTok Shop.

Abstract

This study investigates how negative electronic word-of-mouth (e-WOM) from social media influencers affects brand loyalty in the cosmetics industry. Specifically, it examines the mediating roles of brand attitude and consumer dissatisfaction and the moderating role of influencer credibility. Using a quantitative, associative design, data were gathered from 250 respondents who had been exposed to negative influencer reviews of cosmetic products through purposive sampling. A structured questionnaire was administered, and the data were analyzed with Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) using SmartPLS 4.0. The results reveal that negative influencer reviews significantly weaken brand attitude, which subsequently increases consumer dissatisfaction and reduces brand loyalty. Brand attitude and dissatisfaction significantly mediate the relationship between negative reviews and brand loyalty, indicating that unfavorable influencer content can indirectly drive brand disloyalty through these psychological pathways. However, influencer credibility does not significantly moderate the impact of negative reviews on brand attitude. These findings highlight the critical role of managing e-WOM and monitoring influencer content to protect brand equity. For cosmetic brands, proactive communication strategies and consumer engagement are essential to mitigate the adverse effects of negative influencer reviews. The study contributes to digital marketing literature by integrating mediation and moderation mechanisms into the understanding of how negative e-WOM shapes brand loyalty.
