Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of job fatigue (KK) and employee engagement (K) in mediating the relationship between job stress (SK) and workload (BK) on employee turnover (TK) in a waste paper raw material supplier company. By using the quantitative correlational method, the sample used was 205 respondents, and using the statistical analysis method with smartPLS 3 software. The results found in this study refer to the hypothesis of direct and indirect influence, which there are 12 hypotheses. With the results showing SK has a positive effect on TK with a p-value of 0.032 ≤ 0.05 . BK has a positive effect on TK with a p-value of 0.000 ≤ 0.05 . KK has a positive effect on TK with a p-value of 0.002 ≤ 0.05 , K has no effect on TK with a p-value of 0.099 ≥ 0.05. SK has a positive effect on KK with a p-value of 0.000 ≤ 0.05 , BK has a positive effect on TK with a p-value of 0.008 ≤ 0.05. SK and BK have no effect on K with a p-value of 0.212 & 0.630 ≥ 0.05 . Indirectly SK and BK have a positive effect on TK through KK p-value of 0.008 & 0.024 ≤ 0.05 . And K has no mediating role. In this study, it can be concluded that work stress, workload, and work fatigue have a positive effect on turnover, while engagement has no effect. And work fatigue plays a mediating role in the relationship between increased work stress and workload on employee turnover, and engagement does not find a mediating role.

Abstract

This study examines the role of human resource management (HRM) and business administration in enhancing tourism development and promoting regional growth in Banten Province, Indonesia. The research is driven by the increasing contribution of tourism to local economic development and the strategic importance of HRM and administrative practices in improving service quality, organizational efficiency, and sustainable competitiveness. A quantitative approach was employed, involving a population of 5,000 business and tourism-related workers, with a proportional random sample of 150 respondents. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed through structural equation modeling (SEM) to investigate the relationships among HRM practices, business administration effectiveness, and tourism development outcomes. The results reveal that HRM practices significantly enhance administrative performance and service quality, which in turn positively influence tourism performance. The findings underscore that effective HRM strategies—including training, motivation, and performance evaluation—are crucial in strengthening business administration and advancing tourism competitiveness. This study contributes to the understanding of HRM and business administration in the tourism sector and provides practical insights for policymakers, business leaders, and tourism stakeholders aiming to foster sustainable regional development.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji implementasi desentralisasi dan otonomi sekolah di Indonesia, yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan mendorong inovasi lokal. Dalam beberapa tahun terakhir, kebijakan desentralisasi pendidikan di Indonesia mendapat perhatian besar sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan relevansi pendidikan dengan konteks lokal. Namun, seringkali terdapat kesenjangan antara kebijakan dan praktik yang dihadapi sekolah-sekolah di lapangan. Meskipun desentralisasi memberikan keleluasaan lebih bagi sekolah untuk berinovasi, tantangan dalam hal kapasitas, sumber daya, dan regulasi yang ketat masih membatasi potensi tersebut. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana otonomi sekolah mendorong peran manajerial kepala sekolah yang lebih inovatif, serta untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mendukung dan menghambat penerapan otonomi dalam mendorong inovasi lokal. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif komparatif di empat sekolah (perkotaan dan pedesaan), data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan analisis dokumen. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa meskipun otonomi meningkatkan fleksibilitas dan partisipasi, terdapat ketegangan antara kebebasan dan regulasi ketat, serta disparitas implementasi akibat keterbatasan kapasitas dan sumber daya. Peran kepala sekolah telah bereorientasi dari administrator menjadi manajer strategis dan pemimpin inovatif, menuntut kompetensi holistik. Inovasi lokal terhambat oleh keterbatasan anggaran dan resistensi, membutuhkan dukungan sistemik dan budaya eksperimentasi. Efektivitas otonomi sangat bergantung pada kapasitas manajemen lokal yang memadai, akuntabilitas kuat, dan pergeseran menuju kepemimpinan partisipatif yang memberdayakan inovasi akar rumput.
